  1. Thanks all for the comments. I think i'm going to stick to my original ebay and pistonheads plan and leave autotrader for now. Not being in a rush to sell i can take my time. There are only a handful of private roadsters for sale on autotrader and interesting to here interest is luke warm. My old mk1 Audi TT literally sold within 5 minutes but perhaps the sub £2500 bracket has more interest as less risk i guess. I seem to have gathered many watchers on ebay, although when i dropped the price a little i actually lost some! Perhaps not the right time for a roadster or perhaps the private market isnt as fluid as it used to be. Maybe its a sign for me to apply some man maths and convince myself keeping my Z actually saves me money.
  2. Whats the opinion of Autotrader as a tool for selling a car? I've opted for eBay and Pistonheads since the cost is lower but wondering if the bigger exposure autotrader would give is negated by it not really being the right audience for a Z. Thoughts? (just realised I accidentally posted in technical rather than general)
  3. Thought I would post an update. Since installing the "new" coil packs the car hasn't missed a beat. Intermittent misfire = probably one or more coil packs Constant misfire = probably one or more coil packs and or injector(s)
  4. "New" coil packs installed. No sign of the misfire returning so fingers crossed
  5. Thanks for the input, the misfire mysteriously cleared itself again. I pulled one bank of coil packs for inspection and can't see any visible signs that they are bad but not sure what I was expecting. However - I've managed to find 6x fresh ones from a low mileage car. Hopefully putting them in next week. The Z will stay in the garage until then.
  6. I've had my 2005 Z roadster since January 2016 and loving ownership apart from a random misfire which has come and gone over the months (seems worse as the weather has deteriorated) Torque Pro gives me the random misfire code P0300 and I recently changed the plugs and I'm confident it's not a vacuum leak, everything points towards one or more coil packs on the blink. Appreciate any advice on pin pointing the bad pack, I've read to watch for blistering, are there any other tell tell signs that a pack has gone bad? Also where can I source a set of 6 from (other than 2nd hand from eBay). I'll phone the main dealer in the morning but I don't really want to remortgage the house. Any help appreciated - this misfire is driving me mad, it's so intermittent. You'll hear the miss, exhaust popping, running terribly. Turn off, start again and everything is running sweetly.
