  1. Nice to know you have faith in my abilities More guides
  2. Even funnier, when I asked about declaring a dash cam on my existing policy, they wanted to increase my premium and charge me an admin fee. Hence I cancelled my policy and got a new quote with them.
  3. Only "mod" that seems to lower premiums is a dash cam. Their argument for up-rated brakes increasing the price is that it allows the driver to go faster because they can stop faster. Also increases the chance of someone going into the back of you.
  4. And the Cube blows them both out of the water...
  5. With an arse only a mother could love...
  6. If it all goes to shite I'll just go crying to Mum / Grandma and ask them to do it. Women are good at this stuff, right?
  7. Quite like it. Better than the Z RB kit... Isn't Liberty Walk the modern day Veilside? You kidding, the CLS is beautiful (at least from the side / rear), especially the W219 (old one). Like a 6er
  8. Have you checked Confused (or other comparison site) - usually the best place to start. Most of the insurers on the forum require you to be >25, but having a license for 5 years might be enough.
  9. Yup, definitely should declare those mods: -Exterior decorative changes -Interior decorative changes -Brakes -Alloys
  10. From reading previous threads, it would appear that they provide an exchange service where they send you a pre-done wheel and you send them your old one (which they will sort and give to someone else). How hard can it be... I'm not trying to discredit the level of craftsmanship required, but I'd like to think I can measure and cut some material without much issue. After that it's just a case of stitching it... Okay, my stitching might not be perfectly spaced or in fancy patterns, but it should do the job. Some would call it ignorance, but I'd like to go with optimistic confidence
  11. Had a better look... Couldn't find another circle on the driver's side tail light and couldn't see any on another Zed. As for the black marks, definitely on the outside. Managed to pick at them and scrape some of them off.
  12. Reprofiled is what I meant by a new wheel, which I reckon would be a lot of work and big cost? Retrimmed is what I reckon I could replicate in a basic form... Universal covers you just stitch around the outside: But I reckon if I buy my own material and cut my own template I could achieve something similar to this (though only in 1 material and maybe not quite as neat):
  13. Had a look. impressive work. However, unless you opt for a new wheel, it's essentially a cover isn't it? Sure it's professionally done, and will look great, but I'd like to think I could have a good crack at it, not to mention that it's much more rewarding to DIY...
  14. Glad you're enjoying it, and those rims look fantastic. I still often find myself walking into the other room for no other reason than to gaze out the window at my Z. That being said, nobody else seems to give mine a second glance - maybe it's the boring silver?
  15. Not a massive fan of the Zeds steering wheel - it's too hard and not quite thick enough. Rather than fork out a load for a new wheel, I was thinking of just getting a cover for it. There seems to be 2 types; a "glove" that you just stretch over the wheel, or the ones you have to stitch around the wheel yourself (which I reckon would look better). Anyone got any experience or recommendations? Cheers.
  16. Ah, that's good to hear. Cheers
  17. Is it actually quieter, or does it just seem quieter as there is another noise drowning it out?
  18. The balloons would only slow you down MPG is heavily dependant on how and where you drive. I usually get 30 in my Z and I genuinely can't get it below 20 no matter how vigorous I am with the throttle... But then you get people reporting an average of 15...
  19. Easy, find a long hill and only take a reading while coasting down it
  20. Just walk into Currys / PCWorld and ask for the best laptop for £200 (give them requirements of screen size / intended use). Unless it has some special fancy feature, the more you pay, the better it will be, can't really go wrong. Brand is pretty much irrelevant, you're just looking for the best CPU and a decent amount of RAM.
