  1. Sounds about right. I caught the flash just as you passed by, but my reactions weren't good enough to return it I always avoid the motorways, whenever I try them they end up being restricted to 40 and there's much more chance of really bad traffic. Only have to stop for traffic lights on the back roads
  2. "Remove prior to microwave"????? Who the feck microwaves steak or any meat for that matter???
  3. Except most of them are crap and / or have speed cameras
  4. Technically it improves engine cooling as the heat can go straight up, but usually it's just cosmetic. But if you do it properly, it can have a benefit... Mx-5 related rather than Z, but same logic applies:
  5. If you can't find a buyer I might take this off you to help with my re-trim, but no idea when i will get round to that yet.
  6. Haha, no, seriously, a lot of people turn them into drift cars cos they are so cheap with so much power - give it a Google. It's a bit different, and rather marmite, but personally I love the looks and think it'd be an awesome sleeper.
  7. Yeah, something to look forward to when we buy used 17+ plate cars though.. Stupid system though. If it's a tax for using the roads, it should be based on your mileage. If it's a tax for emissions then why make them all the same, but still penalise EVs with the £310 for 5 years tax...
  8. No love for the LS400 then? Definitely reliable. Lexus' don't break, there's even a famous LS400 with 1 million miles
  9. Yeah, I can imagine. Question is, match the pre-existing silver or re-do it all...
  10. Not sure. I think I prefer small highlights rather than full blown 2-tone. Hence the current plan is something like this: But with a louvre, maybe a black roof, and potentially light tints.
  11. All games are like that unfortunately, I've tried to replay many games from my childhood and I get bored in 5 mins...
  12. Carbon was hardly lacking in rice... And it had a 350Z too Just quickly go back and edit your post to say Carbon instead of Underground
  13. Thinking of doing the same as my cubby door is scratched to fook. Prefer it without all the bobbles too, but will be a bitch to sand. Torn between gloss black and a silver to match the other silver interior bits. As good as gloss black looks, i think it stands out too much and makes the rest of the car looks crap in comparison, whereas that silver just brings it out and highlights. How much time and money did this take overall then so I have an idea?
  14. Haven't, but you mean something like this?
  15. Well now I feel old... 10 years ago was Carbon and ProStreet... NFS:U was over 14 years ago, U2 was >13 years and MW was >12 years.
  16. It's scratched to shite though, so will need painting regardless (or at least sanding and polishing or something). Thinking of making it black and doing the wheels (and roof) to match.
  17. Cheers. It's an option, but I don't think it would quite work... Window looks like this, imagine the Blue triangles are the triangle-y upwards edges of the blades: As the window curves, the only way to put another in that bottom space would be to angle the edge really weirdly, which wouldn't follow the rest of the blades and still wouldn't cover the glass as it curves out: Even if you make is a very sharp angle this this, it will still have to be a very large blade to cover the glass as it curves out. Another options is to do a big blade edge that overlaps, but then you are no longer following the glass and it might look out of place: Instead you can do what the cardboard blade is showing: Or curve it up like so:
  18. Hype part 3... Not sure what to do about the last blade, suggestions welcome
  19. Or there is this one, but it's a bit dark...
  20. Spacers and different offsets causing additional strain and wear is a fact (which is what was clarified). What's debatable (but wasn't the point of discussion here) is the extent of this. The larger the difference, the more wear / strain there is and the less safe it is, but as you say, there are too many variables to give a definitive answer to that question. You could have 100mm spacers and never have any issues, but it doesn't mean the damage isn't being done.
  21. Aftermarket / custom wheels have their benefits (different styles, wheel / tyre widths, less points of failure), but yes, if the only reason you got them was to fill your arches, spacers are a cheaper and just as effective solution which put just as much strain on the rest of the car.
  22. Altering offsets affect how much load each of the two wheel bearings see both in straight-line driving and during cornering. It puts more strain on the wheel and axle bearings. Straying too far from the original wheel offset can be detrimental as fouling to the suspension and bodywork can occur as well as excess strain on wheel bolts or studs.
  23. higher load on wheel bearings/retaining bolts/steering gear etc. have a google search to find out even more I have Googled it in the past, hence my comment. Different offset has the same effect of added strain on wheel beatings etc...
