  1. Annual homicide count by country*: Brazil - 50,000 India - 42,000 Mexico - 20,000 Venezuela - 19,000 South Africa - 18,000 UK - 600 Annual homicide rate per 100,000 inhabitants*: Honduras - 84.6 El Salvador - 64.2 Venezuela - 62.0 UK - 0.9 Sure, it didn't happen in my backyard, but it's a hell of a lot worse in the rest of the world and I don't see people ranting and changing their FB profile picture to support murdered Brazilians, just whatever is popular at the time. *Quick figures rounded from Wiki, just something to reason my point
  2. That's not what he said at all, read it again....

    spare key

    Any luck with this?
  4. So you'd rather more people die if it meant none of the deaths were murders? Likewise you'd prefer 2 adults got run over instead of 1 child? I'm not sure there is necessarily a right or wrong answer, it's just opinion and interpretation of what is morally correct. It just seems like everyone jumps on the bandwagon of the latest event, then forgets about it a week later and moves onto some other tragedy.
  5. You mean like if a tree falls in the forest and nobody hears it, did it really make a sound?
  6. Get to 20000 posts and you won't believe what happens... Z Supreme Being?
  7. Obviously measures should be taken to prevent terror attacks else there is a good chance those statistics could drastically rise. I just disagree with the amount of publicity. Here's an example / question. Would you rather: - 1000 people died every day, but none are murders? OR - 500 people died every day, but 10 of those are murders? It's similar to the question regarding the morals of self-driving cars and who they should run over should the worst happen - 1 child or 2 adults?
  8. AOL mail has always had problems when it comes to trying to register on sites though. It's neither recent nor specific to this forum.
  9. Isn't the death rate in the UK something like 1.5k per day? Even considering a good portion of that is just old people expiring, there's plenty of avoidable / preventable deaths that statistically outweigh the number of deaths by terror attacks. I'm not denying how awful the events are, just that in the grand scheme of things it's, to be blunt, insignificant. If money / resources / awareness was channelled elsewhere, we could prevent a lot more unnecessary deaths. (Out of date infographic, but the trends are similar)

    30mm spacers

There's some 25mm ones in the FB group
  11. AOL has (or had) issues too. However I'd assume that FB post refers to a different forum than this one.
  12. Agree 100%. But my point is that police do shoot to neutralise.
  13. Then what are plastic bullets and baton rounds for?
  14. Had a chat with a manufacturer who make quality 4-wire sequentials so the amber and white work individually. Prices are ~£66 for a set of 60cm strips that can be cut down to the desired length, but if you buy 10 sets it's only ~£30 per set. Anyone up for a group buy? Would be ideal for headlights too
  15. I would if they'd make some I liked the look of and didn't cost £400 Can always just clear out the fog and leave it at that, or actually apply myself and make a custom circuit.
  16. Though having now typed that out, another potential solution would be getting some red / amber strips instead. I believe you are allowed to permanently have red light showing at the rear, so they could be powered constantly, which would allow the amber sequential indicators to function properly
  17. Turning out to be a bit harder than I thought... - Most units are white and amber - When connected, the white light always shows until there is voltage to the amber light - The amber light overrides the white light and does it's fancy sequential flashing pattern - Even though the voltage to the amber light is intermittent, It will continue to only do the amber sequence - It will only stop if there is no voltage to the amber light for a couple of seconds - At this point, it detects you are no longer trying to indicate and will switchback to white This is fine for front lights, but not so great for rear lights where you don't want the white light powered and showing all the time. If there is no voltage to the white light, and you apply voltage to the amber light, it will light up and begin it's sequence, but will cut short as soon as you stop providing power to it (i.e. every time the indicators ticks off) I've seen mention of lights with 4 wires that have a dedicated power input, allowing you to use the amber lights individually, but can't seem to find any (for a decent price). There's probably a way to mod the 3-wire units so they have constant power without causing the white LEDs to light up or lengthen the period of time that voltage is applied when the indicator is used, but that's starting to feel more like work than fun tinkering.
  18. Please explain how they can't fall off "Can't" might be a bit of an exaggeration. However, since the wheel is in the way, the nuts attached the the hub studs have little to no space to loosen off. In order for any of them to come off, they would all have to come off. Say a nut loosens a quarter turn. Before it can physically go any further, the other 4 nuts have to loosen a quarter turn. A nut can then loosen another quarter turn, and so on.
  19. No progress on swapping to a 24 hour gym?
  20. Take it easy. I always end up fighting through pain and just making it worse to the point I have to cut out a load of exercises for a month or so.
