  1. They flare out at either end. Yep, which I can replicate with a jigsaw. Assumed he meant vertically though??
  2. The tarmac side steps are pretty much flat aren't they?
  3. As much as that would make sense, insurers don't. Insurers can see whether the car has another policy on it and if a claim is made, they can try pass it off to the other. I asked a few insurers and they all gave a similar answer. The details are hazy, and if person X crashes and claims, then I'm not sure they can get person Y's policy to contribute as well / instead, but if say the vehicle is stolen, there would be a dispute. However, all drivers would lose their NCB regardless, that much was consistent for all of them.
  4. Mmmm, yeah, you're right. I remember looking into it before and deciding it was a bad idea though: 1) Both policy holders would lose their NCB if there was a claim 2) There may be complications when you come to claim, with each insurer requesting the other contribute
  5. Pretty sure you aren't allowed 2 permanent policies on 1 car.
  6. Found a guy who made a splitter out of foamex
  7. Would this stuff work? Would only cost a tenner for a 2m strip.
  8. All the black fascias seem to be "black ash" wood effect rather than just plain black Edges are white too, so will still need some form of painting / colouring.
  9. V2 usually comes after V1
  10. Hint taken, but no promises Couldn't make any that wide for the Z without overfenders / WB. The Elise body curves under significantly, so you can go wide without it sticking out past the wheels and looking silly.
  11. Some use wood, some aluminium, some PVC, others ABS, fibreglass and CF, with no apparent reasoning for the decision over the alternatives.
  12. Yep, another of these threads. Got a lot more free time on my hands, so will hopefully be implementing some of my plans. Was looking for some side steps, but the only option seems to be the Tarmac Sportz ones, which I'm not a fan of (too fat and appear to have been designed to suite the Nismo lip / spats, which is fine, but just aren't to my taste). So (un)fortunately, I'm left looking at DIY options. Seems to be a few different ways people have gone about it, but getting a long strip of plastic, shaping it, and painting it seems to be the easiest / best solution. However, what I'm unsure of is the best type of material (ABS? PVC?) and what thickness would be most suitable. Second question is how to mount. The Tarmac ones stick up and bolt straight in up behind the skirt (green area). Should I fabricate a block to replicate this, space it with washers, or just Sikaflex / self-tapper it straight to the skirt (red area). Couple examples for inspiration, cos I know you guys love my sources: Lexus BMW Lotus Try keep it on topic please
  13. I just refresh the New Content page every now and again and seem to retain most of what I read.
  14. Scariness ranking: - Fast cars with no assists - Slow cars - Fast cars with assists
  15. Bonus points if you wire up the motor to make it spin Would have gone for Spyro personally though
  16. Easy, use an insurer who doesn't care (e.g. any of the big ones like Admiral). AF and other specialists are the only ones who check background experience etc.
  17. The moment Corsair included it in their warranty terms they became legally obligated to do so.
  18. Completely untrue. Take EVGA for example. If you register the card with EVGA and pay for an extended warranty (up to 10 years), you will RMA directly to EVGA (the manufacturer). Corsair also provide a warranty if you purchase from an authorised reseller. Buyers are instructed to request an RMA with Corsair themselves rather than the the seller. Plenty more examples if needed.
  19. That looks very similar to a Z which was up for sale on Autotrader when I was looking for mine. Seemed to be up there for months and was listed at >£10k iirc.
