  1. As above, change PCV valve first as it could be stuck open. Top up to maximum and then keep an eye on it whilst resetting the trip computer etc. If its only the beginning of the oil burning then try a can of Wynns. Treats about 5-6 litres of engine oil and helps to create a better seal, restore compression and reduce blow-by gases. If the oil keeps burning etc get a compression test done. If its outside the tolerances then you have a choice to make. As long as you dont let the oil get too low then youll be fine to keep topping it up and driving whilst monitoring its usage closely until you come to a decision.
  2. Im not sure that the max to min difference on the dipstick is 4 litres?! Its more like 1-1.5 litres. Im sure someone will confirm exactly but thats certainly what mine is.
  3. As far as I'm aware this is the indicator for the factory NATs system. Couldn't tell you what the different flashing sequences mean apart from if its on solid once the car is on then it has been disabled. Im sure someone fa wiser will be able to confirm but hope this helps.
  4. Whilst Im not adverse to wiring etc. I think its more hassle than its worth. Especially for functionality that I already have. Will just get Mondo to redo my stock seats haha. Cheers for the replies and suggestions though guys
  5. Thought that would be the case. In that case I will just get mine booked in with you as previously discussed. I will probably be in touch within the next couple months after my European road trip when ill have some dosh to get them booked. Cheers dude
  6. Rickdon (above) can do them. I spoke to him about a year ago about purchasing one and as yet I still havent...(apologies Rickdon)...Other things have been popping up. Rest assured I will be purchasing at some point lol. Anyway, fire him a PM if you havent already and he will square you away with what you require.
  7. Hmm was looking into this a while ago when I upgraded my lights. I cant for the life of me remember where but I know I have seen 1 or 2 forum threads detailing this and I believe I saw a youtube video of someone in the states doing this. I know this isnt much help as Ive no idea where I saw these posts etc but I will try and scratch my head and see if I can remember or find them again. I ended up not needing the articles as my new ones were 8 pin plugs anyway. Ill let you know if I find anything.
  8. Hi guys, I have the rare opportunity to purchase a great set of seats for my Zed. They are standard seats that have been reupholstered with diamond stitching etc etc. Basically the exact same as I wanted to do to my stock seats only I really wanted alcantara in the centre bur I can live without that. The issue is that my seats are fully electric including the heating elements. I have come to love this feature especially in the current climate. The seats I am looking to buy are manual adjusted seats and not heated. So the question is, does anyone know how easy/difficult it is to take the heated and electrical elements off of my seats and put them on the manual seats so I can retain these functions? Ive not looked at the bottom of the seats but I would thought if I remove seat back and the base I would then be able to swap these over to my current runners which contain the electrics. Only thing Im not sure of is where exactly the heating elements are. If they are inside the seat base and not accessible then I wont be able to it over. Any help/advice appreciated.
  9. As above, spotted (or rather, heard) a lovely black 350Z DE coupe driving through Whetstone heading toward Barnet at around 1650hrs tonight. Spunded lovely burbling past and had a nice stance to it. My orange beast was snuggled up in the Travelodge car park and I was walking back from the train station. Nice example
  10. As title, I briefly parked next to a lovely black 370Z Coupe which was parked at South Mimms Services at around 4:30pm today Sunday 14th Jan. I wouldve waited around to say hi but I was in a bit of a rush.
  11. Its got auto passenger up switch. One of the best mods I did to mine, however I got mine for £4 including postage from Japan and it also included the passenger side switch unit lol.
  12. Many thanks for dropping it off to me mate, good to meet you and again, love those wheels.
  13. Hi mate, I'm in Northampton for the weekend
  14. Are you able to post at all mate? Obviously Ill cover costs. I'm desperately after one of these but not sure when I will next be passing through Reading. Got a couple of mates that might be able to collect on behalf so just asking those but would be ideal if you were able to post. Cheers Rikki
  15. Try your local council testing station. They are required to open up to the public for testing but they are not allowed to carry out any work on public cars. This means you will pay full price for your test but you will get an honest result. You wont get stupid fails because they are strapped for cash or just want to fleece you.
  16. Yes definitely go for the SGS Nismo ones! My head has been holding the boot up for months ever since I fitted my Nismo V2 spoiler! I went ahead and ordered a set, got them fitted last week and I must say the swelling on my head seems to have gone down due to it not being constantly in a battle with the bootlid haha. Brilliant product very happy and a piece of pi$$ to fit. You can even prop the boot open with the tube they get posted in!
  17. Its only when the daughter is in the car, the rest of the time I have the windows down anyway. I do like your solution though
  18. For me this isn't even remotely an option. Personally I think the Nismo is the best sounding exhaust on a Zed. Not being biased because I have one, I thought this before I even had a Zed. The sound from the outside and with the windows down is just what I want. Stripping the interior won't be an issue for me as I enjoy doing it and Ive got to strip it anyway to make the modifications to the boot. I agree, the boot is not the main location for the drone etc. which is why the whole car is being done. I'm going to strip the whole lot down to have custom carpet made up and modify the boot by removing the top half above the compartments. The inside of the compartments will also get the treatment to stop the sound resonating. Pretty much everything that is metal will be done on mine by the time I'm finished with it.
  19. Yeah Im going to go the whole hog and make it nice and thick. Reason being Im going to embark on a project making the load space/boot bigger and will therefore get a complete custom carpet made up afterwards. As Im adding far more boot space this allows me to go slightly thicker with the sound deadening etc. Plus Im not that bothered by the weight of it as I will be removing a bit of weight anyway so shouldnt actually end up being much heavier. The way Nissan have put these cars together is ridiculous and massive overkill. Even the door to the 'glove box' is heavy as hell for what it is. Will be a slow project as not a priority but will update once completed.
  20. Evening guys. I currently have a DE Non-RevUp Zed and I have the steering wheel controls for the stereo along with the cruise control. I am getting the silver surrounds painted and I will therefore lose the lettering/labels for the buttons. I have gone out and purchased some RevUp steering wheel controls as these versions have the lettering on the buttons themselves so that combats that problem. Only issue being 2 of the RevUp cruise control buttons have been swapped over. On the earlier non-revup the on/off button is in the middle and the cancel button is at the bottom. On the revup version the cancel button is in the middle and the on/off button is at the bottom. Has anyone done this mod before and can tell me what (if anything) is needed in order to get the buttons working correctly? I havent stripped the wheel down yet as its my daily so once the surrounds are painted and Im ready to fit them I will strip it down. Should is just be a simple case of swapping a couple wires in the connector or something more involved? A picture paints a thousand words: DE NON-RevUp: DE REVUP: Apologies for the poor pictures found on google but as it happens I dont have any pictures of my own steering wheel haha. These 2 wheels do however depict exactly what Ive got (although mines obviously RHD). Any help appreciated.
  21. It was the white wire on mine but as I say, I got different ones. Should be fairly obvious though if its the only one going from the indicator to the LED's etc.
  22. If you dont want the indicator on with the side lights there is a wire you snip. Not got the exact same lights but I had this when I fitted aftermarket lights to mine. There is a wire that goes from the sidelights to the indicator bulb, snip this and you should be golden. Plenty of youtube videos that show this aswell. Looking good though man, look good on your colour car
  23. Just my 2 pennies worth. I have a decatted Nismo system so not quite the same as your setup. The drone for me is not too bad I don't really tend to notice it. The issue I have is that when I have my daughter in the car she talks quite softly and I end up getting out the other end having agreed to cinema trips and toys and days out etc. and its costing me a fortune. To that end I've been looking at soundproofing and what I am planning is to use something like dynamat across the entire boot floor and the transmission tunnel (although I will probably end up doing the entire floorplan whilst the carpet is out). This will stop the vibrations/rattles etc being transmitted around the shell. The next step is to add a layer of foam to absorb soundwaves. Then on top of this I am looking at some sort or rubber type sound blocker. Not entirely sure if this will cut out the specific frequencies I'm after but hopefully should make a difference. I have experienced this in another car and did the above 3 phase sound deadening and it did make such a difference so Im hoping I will notice the difference in the Zed aswell. Hope this helps mate.
  24. No worries mate, unfortunately I didn't get any before and after photos, not from close up anyway. Tbh my paintwork wasnt in too bad a shape seen as the colour change was only done around 6 years ago hence only a 1 stage polish. I would love to get some decent shots to do it justice but I'm crap with a camera. If the cost is misleading, as Dan suggests, then I apologise but this is simply my experience. I spent around £1200 with this guy on this particular occasion and as said spent thousands with him before and after so I do get extremely good prices. I also have no idea what products he used so he could've used the cheapest of the cheap. All I know is I've never had a car coated before and was extremely impressed with the result. I do generally believe you get what you pay for so I can only imagine how impressed I would be if I paid top dollar for somebody accredited. (I didnt know you had to be accredited to get hold of certain products). Ill PM you a couple of pics later if I can find them but they are distance shots and cant really tell the fine scratches etc before.
