  1. It may well come to that. Well you can have first dibs ;-)
  2. Interesting to hear you've had some success in sound deadening. From what I've read elsewhere, deadening works to stop rattles but isn't so effective on lower dB noises like exhausts. I've already coated my boot in Dynamat and a little of the Dodo MLV with very little benefit. I'm guessing it will need to have the whole floor and boot with the thicker deadening stuff to really have an impact
  3. That sounds really nice. I tried to take a similar video of mine for contrast, but it really didn't pick up the low noise at all. Hopefully there will be a meetup at some point that I can get to; guess there's no substitute for hearing it in person :-)
  4. None that I've seen. I had a chat with the nice folks at Cobra but they didn't suggest anything like this, so I'm guessing it's not an option It's the resonated version.
  5. It's been a couple of months since I took the plunge and upgraded my '08 350z to Berks HFC and Cobra exhaust + Y-Pipe. With it all added and the engine re-tuned it's a joy to drive. But that drone.... I do a lot of motorway driving, and 2000-2500 revs there is some serious cabin noise. Trawling through the forums lots of people say that the drone fades as the carbon builds up, but no such luck (at least so far). I know exhaust notes and noise is a very subjective thing, so I've tried to get some sort of measurement. Here's Android's guess at the noise levels in 6th doing 60mph: dB readout Not the most accurate measuring device in the world, but hopefully gives you a better idea. As for the frequency, it's the 125Hz range that's the culprit: Frequency readout So a question to all the exhaust gurus out there: What are my options? From what I've read so far: 1. Swap back to the stock cats 2. Swap out the Cobra to another exhaust 3. Sound proof the **** out of the boot 4. Ignore it and eventually it will get quieter/I will lose enough hearing to ignore it :-) Hard to answer without being subjective I know, but what would people recommend? Or if someone is in Hampshire/Berkshire area and fancies a winter meet-up?
