  1. 24 when I got mine, 25 now. How do kids afford cars like this?!? I had to take 2 loans!!! *rants about working class*
  2. I already have one on order :'(
  3. Collected...from where? Tarmac sells at 250 delivered so if you're local and come down slightly then I'm in
  4. Well if Mark fancies making me one, I was also going to request a fully blinged engine bay from him after my next pay day... I say you guys can have discounts anywhere else and I'll just ask for a loyalty card
  5. Hold yer' horses, I was the one who said make a UK shaped mold! So we both get a discount
  6. I also want a UK plate recess, maybe we should use mob-rule and have a mold of the UK recess made or something along those lines? My excuse is that my plate makes the word BOOST on one line, but on two it'd be BOOS I guess I could cram 5 letters on one line but then the rozzers would pull me every few days...
  7. A lot of the specialists don't have offers on comparison sites, you call them and they handle quotes on a case per case basis. Its especially worthwhile if you have declared performance mods, Adrian Flux for example have barely changed my premium after declaring mods whereas on Admiral (via goCompare) it more or less doubled. I guess they don't like air intake systems eh!
  8. I doubt I can get enough leverage on the clip unless I take the throttle off, which I'm not up to trying yet. Berk provided a screw jubilee clip which I can possibly get some pliers on. It was intended for the intake end of the hose but it fit just fine on the crank end
  9. Thanks, interesting! They don't teach stuff like that on engineering degrees... I'll figure a way to connect it better, until then I'll check it each week since it is loose enough to fall off
  10. I just installed a Z-tube and I'm wondering what the hose that sits underneath the air intake tube is for - the one that goes to the back of the block. I recall my Celica had the same, and a genuine mod was to shove a bung in it. Also, what would happen if it became loose? Since Berk didn't see fit to give me install instructions I was unaware the tube exists and I accidentally yanked it from the block. Let me tell you that putting it back is a SERIOUS pain in the arse! I'm guessing its meant to be connected with the throttle removed, and or the plenum. I managed to get a screw jubilee clip on it instead of the crappy spring loaded ones Nissan give you, but still I couldn't get it as tight as I'd like. tl;dr - will my engine go boom?
  11. I just took mine off, the panel filter is almost new as it was done on my service. Not looked at any 2nd hand prices but PM me an offer Edit - do you need the tube as well? I have that also.
  12. Mine! Mine mine mine! I'll order through the site in a couple of minutes, got other bits on the shopping list :-)
  13. I got insured on bigger more powerful cars for less than little 1.2 shitboxes, because they tend to be owned by older more mature and better drivers. My first car was a 2003 BMW 318i - Not exactly fast, apaz did 0-60 in 9.7 I believe, but it was more the fact it was comfortable and safe as a first car Had leather seats, climate/cruise control too Damn nice first car 2nd car is now my Z at the age of 20 and insurance is literally £20 a month more than the BMW was, for a total of about £1700 a year. You just have to shop around for unusual cars that people don't tend to crash much A while ago Churchill neglected to recognize certain performance badges, which my mate took advantage of to insure a Mondeo ST for the same price as a standard Mondeo. Think it was around £900 and he was 19 at the time. The moral is to never rule out a quick car, insurance companies sometimes "forget" certain cars are quick!
  14. I'll take a look on Friday when I'm let out of the office
  15. Suggestion, can the list be tabulated to include a requirements column? Some say "Not in Manchester", some have a minimum NCB etc.
  16. i'd like one too, ask how many for a bulk buy
  17. I see 2 350's and 2 370's in the Bentley motors car park in Crewe, all of them nicer than mine! But I don't work with any of those people so I'm happy
  18. Totally giving this a go at the weekend. My car came loaded with issues and a sticky boot was one, never knew it was so easy to fix!
  19. This is exactly what the customer services said. I will go back tomorrow and butter them up with an offer for store credit. So i'll be selling that next... but in the meantime, anyone want my ruddy iron? Edit: Or does anyone know a PC world manager with a zed?
  20. Great feedback. Got haggling and a guys gonna come out to me for £50 on the provision that I do all the removal and fitting myself. Can't remember which company it was, just got his number and he's called Mike...
  21. Does anyone know a decent mileage correction service around the midlands or Cheshire? I've been quoted as high as £100 which is a bit of a shock! I'm looking to swap my cluster for a working one but the cost of fixing the mileage is stopping it dead
  22. PC World / Currys are being strict and saying opening the box invalidates the return policy. I could try it as a polisher, not sure it'd be a good idea though! As for the backstory - my iron conked out and I needed a new one pronto as I had a huge pile of shirts to sort out for work. I opened the box on the new one thinking itd be safe to put the receipt there, so that next time around I can use the warranty. Bad move... because it turns out my old iron was having a funny mood, and came to life later in the day. So, anyone want an iron?
  23. Brand new Bosch Sensixxx DA50 in Red, box opened but not used. Bought today after my iron died, but it's since come back to life. It cost £65, I'll sell for £55 plus £5 postage. So not much off but its better helping a zed owner than PC world (who wont refund me) I'll also swap for literally any zed bits you have laying around of equal value, it was a lot of money to me so I need to cheer myself up somehow.
  24. Ah fair enough, well the needle was on properly and didnt have any sticking points when I moved it manually. I guess somethings up with the motor unit then.
  25. From an archived post: "One thing to note is that the 350z has cross-coils to move the pointers, not stepper motors! If you have the meter upside down for over 15 mins then you run the risk of the silicone inside the cross-coils running out. The silicone is used to dampen the movement of the pointers and enable a smooth operation. If the silicone runs out then the pointers will not sweep correctly and show eradic movement." Possible culprit but google offers no advice. Guys?
