  1. I recently had a pioneer sph da120 installed by a professional and I needed to add a hdmi cable myself. I took my centre console out as per every guide, and as I undid the inner left screw on the climate control unit at the bottom I saw a whisp of smoke. Upon finishing the cable addition the head unit doesn't work. I swapped out the relevant fuse with another 10A one from the fuse box and ruled out the fuse (plus it didn't look broken...) So...HELLLLLPPPP!!!!

Brilliant... Mason- I'm the dude who put in the offer on the miltek you're selling! Jaffers- We can do a shuffle if you want, I'll be selling my stock one *if* mason sells me his. Suggest a price :-)
  3. My eyes are painted on! My excuse, its a subtle change, looks lovely though Is it a genuine v1? How much did you pay? I'm after a v2, but the bank says...no.
  4. Niice! This is a good benchmark for my kuro GT, although I have to pick another engine bay colour other than red now so I'm not copying! I'm surprised how much difference the front splitter makes, its definitely a consideration for me now, instead of a whole new front bumper

    Hows my Zed?

Havent seen anything nearby, I had to go all the way to Warwick for the last one as you know! Unless I'm looking in the wrong place, Cheshire seems a bit dead!
  6. Hi guys, When I got my zed the exhaust was blowing, and after getting it fixed I realised it doesn't sound much like a zed. Its really quiet and today I read about JDM ones being quieter than UK ones... so how do I tell them apart visually? Anyone got pics of a JDM system?
  7. How do these compare to the k4?
  8. Just an idea I had, is there anyone local with a well sorted Zed that I can compare mine against? While I'm thinking, I'm also on the market for new exhaust bits and I'm not really appreciating the real sound of the ehxuasts on youtube, so it'd be a bonus to hear some in real life! Chance to show off eh? I'm based in Crewe but I'm often in Sheffield, be good to meet some zed-heads too

    Non-OEM exhaust

Will do, I'm just looking 2nd hand as I can get a higher spec that way

    Non-OEM exhaust

Looking for a nicer exhaust system from the y-pipe onwards (including it if the fit is non-standard). Budget is anything up to £600 if I get a good deal vs "new" prices. Also happy to pass on my system to a new owner afterwards, free of charge, back box needs a little filler as its started blowing very slightly around the center pipe joint.
  11. I just turned an easy job into a hard one, I changed the front badge on my 350 and in doing so scuffed all the way around where the bumper is indented. All I had to do was sand off a tiny bit of plastic that was sticking out of the recess and when I stood back I saw I'd scraped the edges of the recess which can be seen around the badge! DOH! Is there a good way to hide it without getting paint involved?
  12. I did this the 2nd time I ever drove my car, by accident, whilst putting the car "to the test" with my foot right the way down. I tried shifting quickly around 5000 into 5th and got 3rd (unlucky bounce off the gator!), instant spin and I was lucky not to hit anything. From that point on I call my car a "360" zed! Lesson is don't try to Vin Diesel when you change gears unless you KNOW you are gonna hit the gear!

    Spare y-pipes?

My mechanic and gp agree I'm not allowed near a car with a hacksaw... Can't risk failing the MOT retest

    Spare y-pipes?

Fantastic, I have 2 weeks on the MOT for a re-test so it should be fine! Actually cant wait to hear the true zed roar, I'd assumed the raspy blowing sound was normal but it was a leaky flexi! Do share your finished system, seen and heard plenty this last week whilst researching so be interesting to hear it!

    Spare y-pipes?

Its going to end up as my fallback option, or if I can stretch to it I'll have a cobra. Does the y-pipe really make a big enough difference to justify the cost? And also, do these systems fit to OEM parts?

    Spare y-pipes?

Hi, Wondering if anyone has a spare y-pipe hanging around for a 2005 350z (DE non rev up), I'd happily buy it! The flexi joints went on my OEM part and its an MOT fail, but right now I'm too broke to put on a decent one. Currenly looking at non-branded ebay crap, or the equally questionable Japspeed K2, but if anyones got anything out there they dont need then I'm all ears :-)
  17. Wow, thanks for all the warm welcomes! Sorry I didnt reply, I foolishly thought I'd get inboxed with replies (i'll go hunt for the button for that!) ^^ snap, i'm in the automotive sector! Now what major car company is in Crewe Agreeeed! I'll get my proper camera out and get onto it! In the meantime please accept the tasteful instagram pic I've got as my avatar
  18. So my 350 seems to have a special feature, in that I can be doing 40mph according to the digital speedo on trip computer dial, but the analogue needle reads 30mph! The needle more or less gets stuck until I hit 45mph, where it will jump to where it should be and behave again. When I hit the brakes the needle stays at 30 and jumps down to 20mph to regain a correct reading. Right now I just use the digital readout as I verified that with a friend. Any ideas what the issue could be? I dont think its anything ECU / sensor related seeing as the digital readings spot on
  19. Hi everyone, After saving up for a year I've taken the plunge and bought myself a 2005 350Z (unfortuantely not a rev-up one). I'd driven one last year and it left me totally hooked and wanting more, and here I am a proud owner! Since getting it I've been spying on the forums for advice and learned a few tricks (my favorite one is disabling the anti-hijack mode on the key fob) but I've got too many burning questions and I wanna really learn about this car much more than my last one. I'm a design engineer by trade but that doesn't imply that I know the first thing about fixing cars as you will come to see, I'm more the calculator in hand type of engineer Here's to years of exhaust popping childish bafoonery, smiles per gallon and an empty wallet! -Chris
