alas we don't all live in an ideal permanently dry country and the Dunlops had better all weather performance by a mile, agreed if living only in Dubai with no rain at all then the Michelins for the win but the op doesn't appear to want to spend serious dosh on tyres so actually both the Dunlops and the Michelins are out of his budget .

I run the SportMaxx GT's in 20's and they ain't cheap but are superb tyres, beat the mpss in the latest Evo tyre test too.

OK.....I've been meaning to ask, who's is the silver 370Z with the Stillen Supercharger in Horsham Dev ?, one of the peeps there said the owner gave them £20.000 to finish a job started by someone else, it's a new car btw, the dyno sheet was well impressive.

I had exactly what you described and it was a blown VVT Solonoid so the VVT didn't work properly, replaced and never had it since.
