  2. Long time since I was 20 but AXA/swift cover are by far the cheapest for me. It's my 2nd car so my ncd doesn't count.

    Sounds nice. I suppose the the added bonus with the 1M is that values are heading one way. They seem to be going the same way a e46 csl's. Prices are crazy.

    I admit they don't suit our roads at all. They need a flat surface to put their power down. In the hands of a talented driver they are amazing and they are really good value considering the power. You can buy a nice spec'd one for around £38k. 20% discounts and comp packs have destroyed residuals. CP is apparently better. They have toned it down at lower revs, so it doesn't ditch you in someone's front garden if you tickle the accelerator. I apologise for posting 2 M video clips on a 350z forum.

    I hated the 1M when it was released. I slated it. Fake m car etc. Still not keen on the looks but they are a beast of a car. More of a e92 m3 chassis/suspension with a 1 series shell. Probably the best m car ever. Have you seen what they are selling for? The only thing the 1M has in common with the 135i. Is that it has a reworked version of its engine. Weird thing about the m3/4. Is that the standard car is more savage than a cp or CS. Genuinely scary cars to drive. Never been scared of a car before, but I admit I was. I would go for a manual M2 too. If it wasn't for the cheap seats, steel roof and 240i wing mirrors. But the DCT is much better than the ZF. It's like a Porsche PDK. Worst thing about the new gen BMW M cars though is the build quality. Truly awful.

    They are similar in a straight line but very different cars. 240i is very refined by comparison and has the ZF box over the DCT. I'd be tempted by a manual anyway. Im surprised by the GFV as they are holding money well, and if the CS is anything like the M4 it will be silly expensive. I put a deposit down when the m2 was announced, but the lack of carbon roof, m wing mirrors and the seats shocked me. Im a huge m fan but BMW are taking the **** recently. Too many variants ( comp pack, CS, gts, dtm). The m2 lci is out already. They also sell them unfinished. You have to spend £5k on carbon bits to make them look good.

    Had Nissan arms fitted at Lockwood and greenwood. They Mot'd the car too. W brace is solid, not even an advisory. Glad i didn't go back to the original garage for a retest. Will stick with lockwod and greenwood from now on.

    240i has one huge problem....the M2. The Interior lets the M2 downs for £50k though. I prefer the CLA AMG to the A45.

    If it's the better part I'll definitley order one. I just had it in my head that the ultra racing one was a upgrade. Id rather fit the best parts available. That's why Ive decided to go with the Nissan arms. Just pi**ed of this has ruined my exhaust plans for the summer.

    I'm amazed someone over here hasn't done something similar to the ultra racing bracket. They look simple enough to manufacture and the demand is definitley there.

    The car is currently on my mums drive (I only have one parking space at home). Ill take a look tomorrow. Garage say it is "corroded and seriously weakened".

    I thought the Nissan brace was inferior to the ultra racing one? Loads of people seem to swap judging by how long they are on back order. If the nissan part is better I'll go for that. But I thought they rust really quickly? The garage who carried out the mot won't be doing the work. I just wanted to confirm what part to order. It's just described as "suspension arm" on the mot certificate. I've emailed them pics of both. I have a feeling it's the lower control arm after our last conversation, but I'll know for sure tomorrow. They are a Mitsubishi independent garage. So they are not familiar with Z's. I didn't even correct him when he said Toyota. He sounded like he'd had a long day. Tbf they have a good reputation locally and my uncle has used them for the last 8 years since our local Honda garage closed. He wouldn't use anyone else. Lockwood and greenwood will be changing them over and doing all my servicing from now on. I see your point, but I don't think I'm wasting money. I'd feel happier with the Nissan arms even if they are more expensive. I've read conflicting things about the ball joints on the others. I'm sure they're very good though. My reason for wanting the ultra racing brace wasn't to save money, it was because I thought it was the better part. If it isn't I'll order the oem one. I just want to get it all sorted ASAP TBH.

    Just contacted the garage to tell them I was ordering Nissan parts and wanted to confirm its definitley the banana arms and not the lower control arms. Response was....I'm not sure. Call Toyota they will know. Can you email us pics and I'll call you back tomorrow. Unfortunately I have a feeling the w brace might be beyond salvaging from their description. But then again they seem to think my car is a Toyota, so maybe not.

    I'd be happy to change the brace but I wouldn't be so confident with the arms. I'd worry I'd done something wrong. Im reluctant to spend so much on a w brace especially when the ultra racing ones are £150 and a bit better. Im thinking of ordering the Nissan arms, getting Lockwood and greenwood to fit them and just removing the brace until I can get a ultra racing one. If it's safe to do so. Have you got Nissan arms in stock?

    I agree with both of you if I'm honest. Its the garage that are moaning about non Nissan parts. They insist the ball joints are not as good and they're a struggle to fit. I won't use them again. I'm not impressed at all. They think the w brace is the subframe! Im thinking if I use copy parts they will use it as a excuse for a couple of extra hours labour. And I don't want to give them any excuses. I would give them a piece of my mind and tell them what I think, but my uncle uses them a lot for his civic. He's friendly with the owner so I'm biting my tongue. I'm calling Lockwood and greenwood and taking it there. They're not too far away and have a good reputation on here. I cant find a used w brace anywhere and the ultra racing ones have a 5 week lead time. Is is it dangerous to run without a w brace for a few weeks? I wouldn't want to cause any damage to my car.

    They are. Not as bad as the £370 a side Nissan are asking. Im sure the replacement parts are good but the garage who are fitting them say they are hit and miss with regard to fitment. Knowing my luck I'd get a bad pair. One seller on here has moog arms for £125 which is tempting.

    It wasn't easy to remove. I used grips on the shaft and a wrench on the knob. New nismo one looks and feels great. Really pleased with it.

    I've decided to go for nissan banana arms. I'd rather keep things original and they're not that much more expensive. Just have to forget about a new exhaust for a while.
