  1. For two piece discs there's a guy on fb doing them now
  2. Ive always done 30min session in my track cars with zero mechanical sympathy. Ebc pads couldnt cut it at all, and ive seen too many stories of friction material comong detached from backing plate. In fact I once nearly did an hour session as I was chasing docwra in his z lol Previous track car was a clio 172 so lighter than the civic. Mintex do some good road and occasional abuse pads, carbon lorraine are awesome, Im on performance frictio 01 atm which are amaxing but not sure theyre as better than carbon lorraine as the price tag suggests so ill be going back to cl pads. 30min sessions are fine if the brakes can handle it nut ANY organic pad (all ebc, the horror that are ds2500) cant do this. You need a carbon or metal based compound. Also these good track compounds give good cold bite whereas organic track pads dont. Only trade off with metal pads is thsyre a bit noisy
  3. Im gonna be honest here. Ebc yellowstuff are a baaad pad that cant handle trackwork very well so if these were fine and the flyid gave up first, my money is on old fluid, or water in the fluid or air. But either way the pads on that setup should have been first to die. For a cheaper and equally as good brake fluid, atd typ200/superblue is amazing and is all I run on track
  4. Juggalo - your aegument is wrong, but withput going into all the details as to why ill jist drop the one key bombshlell.. You ready? Sure? Nissan motorsports designed the wing on thw op's car. The aloe vera is over there in the corner
  5. Jetpilot - mrs got me competition car aerodynamics for my birthday, read passages before but not the whole thing.... Ill let you kbow when i get to that chapter
  6. GrahameJ - dont you be bringing your crazy factual science nonsense!! The video is clearly dr'd as its all a conspiracy, wings dont work dont you know.....
  7. Drag via a spoiler does create downforce as it creates a high pressure zone in front/on the spoiler. Thats the point of them, they just unfortunately have the cost of a lot of drag. Wings work the same way as an aeroplane wing but flipped upside down. High speed air is lowdr pressure than low speed air - bernoullis prinviple for those that want to google it
  8. The nismo spoilers utilise a proper aerofoil wing shape so work. Im aware of the difference and how each works. That porsche has its wing so high to avoud needing a 3d wing due to the diffent characteristics of the airflow down the boot and round the side of the car. Thats why apr wings are 3d and they advise mounting them quite low on the z. And yes Ive read up a LOT about it as a few on here can testify and building my own rear wing. The airflow down the back of the z is good, it stays attached all the way down and so even low spoilers work well What youre saying IS bollocks based on half truths
  9. Sorry Ekona but thats bollocks. The nismo wings do create downforce, the shape of the element they cant not. And anything that creates drag at the back like a flap also generates downforce but at the expense of high drag.
  10. Seibon ones? Iirc theyre £££££ lol
  11. I NEED those front wing vents. Youbknow where theyre from before I pm them?
  12. Mr lizard, Did abbey custom make the vents or buy them and adapt them?
  13. Only just had them made, intend to test them soon though
  14. Sadly not a lot of progress lately Moved house a few villages away and the Z is still at the old house..... However my custom FLCA's are done. Theyre not the prettiest but we went for maximum bracing on this set to avoid failure on track. The benefits of them is that I now have camber adjustment from the bottom and once I do the upper and banana arms I will be able to increase the track width without spacers to improve the scrub radius The arm also improves the ARB mount, as stock this is offset and rather than work against the ARB the arm twists around the droplink mount. We have moved the droplink to a more central position and also placed it in double shear, this forces the arm to work against the ARB and greatly increases the effectiveness of the ARB Custom lower arm by ben taylor, on Flickr Custom lower arm by ben taylor, on Flickr Custom lower arm by ben taylor, on Flickr Also the Carbon has arrived for the BGW Its so pretty! Nervous about doing the job, but Ive watched some youtube vidoes so should be fine......lol Luckily with carbon more epoxy can be added and then sanded and polished back to get it to look good! Just need some ally end bits for it, for the end plates to screw to, and then the wrapping begins IMG_20160217_111353 by ben taylor, on Flickr 2016-03-03_02-32-08 by ben taylor, on Flickr Also got some new wheels for wet days, will be shod in Rainsport 3's. Theyre 17" Desmond Regamasters - one of, if not the, lightest wheels available without going magnesium. However Im now thinking of moving these on for some uber wide gram lights from tarmacsportz for semi slicks and making my 18" rega's the wet weather wheels......first world problems! 2016-03-03_02-32-20 by ben taylor, on Flickr
  15. Hey guys! Going big gay wing on the track car so this is up for sale, looked amazing but just doesnt suit my needs anymore. Spoiler for sale by ben taylor, on Flickr Spoiler for sale by ben taylor, on Flickr Spoiler for sale by ben taylor, on Flickr Sadly whilst removing it there was a little damage done, a small crack around the base. Wont affect its use and I doubt you would notice it once on. Also the two bolts holding it on had to have heads drilled off to remove, but still has two other clean bolt threads for mounting. to be honest though the bolts werent doing anything and the glue was the hardest bit to remove! Spoiler for sale by ben taylor, on Flickr Priced accordingly for damage and the fact its sprayed £160 - ideally collected but will entertain postage if buyer organises, just worried about it getting damaged during transit
  16. The arms also put the arb droplink in double ahear to improve its effectiveness, as stock with the offset mount the arm twists aroubd the droplink
  17. Just built myself some custom lower arms to add camber adjustement (would be extra for you) Who did the wings? I would be VERY interested on some
  18. Got a roof scoop from my old track car im contemplating for the z as it was ridiculously hot on track. It was also already degassed as it sheared a hose when a belt snapped lol sometimes ypu just need to rip @*!# out
  19. I literally ripped it out, hacksaw to the belt and pipes, unbolted the pump and core and threw it all in the bin. Only taken the pipes as far bavk as the firewall so far
  20. Ac gone on mine that idler delte kit seems very expensive to me for a belt and a washer....
  21. The collectors lool really really good on the nismo but the tubes arent long enough to work really well
