  1. What alternator/bracket is that? Any more pics?
  2. Sounds nigh on exactly like this (unsurprising since it's the sg headers I've copied), mine might be louder though :/
  3. Loud! Lol think my ears are bleeding..... At idle you can barely tell it's running and it seems fine for a static dB test but above 4k something changes and literally all hell breaks loose, sounds like Mike Gardners on full chat from inside the cab lol Need to dB test it properly, but thinking of getting a bung made for cadwell just in case and then adding more silencing after cadwell if it proves to need it. It's one of those things where we won't know for sure till it's on track screaming past a dB meter
  4. Been following him a few years now and referred to him and sasha in every na argument on here lol Stock tb and the bend on the inlet is very restrictive on z, hence the interestinganifold sasha designed. Mike has sasha's old engine and inlet manifold with a custom 3.5" inlet pipe and maf (theyre also restrictive). Hes nearly 400bhp at the fly
  5. Comp ratio 8.8? That's a low comp piston? Not being a that, could genuinely be interested, just need to crunch the numbers as I already have high comp heads
  6. Oh, there was a lump under the sub that stopped the seat going back far enough.... So we took a sledge to it and removed the problem
  7. Kept it managed to get the seat far enough back, but not quite low enough to be perfect but it will drop low enough on the mounts with another hole drilled in the universal side mounts
  8. So with Cadwell looming Ive been VERY busy with the car. Firstly some progress shots of the heads came trough, the engineer is just waiting on some more shims arriving to get the cams all fitted and theyre good to ship to me received_10153855533031130 by ben taylor, on Flickr received_10153855533261130 by ben taylor, on Flickr received_10153855532971130 by ben taylor, on Flickr Also got the divers side seat bracket finished and the harness attached, I know wrapping it around the rear strut brace is a bit taboo, but in my opinion its safe and will do till I get a cage. Still have the passenger side to sort but I needed the car driveable to take it to Barnsley...but more on that later IMG-20160415-WA0046 by ben taylor, on Flickr IMG-20160415-WA0010 by ben taylor, on Flickr Still umming and arring about what to do kit wise to solve the retarded wisefab fitment, think Ive sorted something rather special but need my old house to sell before I can pull the trigger on it So in the mean time Tarmacsportz came to the rescue wit some cheap JDM Y0! bolt on arches which I ten made a meal of fitting, wanted to keep the bumper quick release so cut the arch so that I wasn't constantly unbolting it - well the bumper art didn't line up Ah well, just have to keep telling myself its legal and a temporary measure! I gave him the dimensions I wanted and asked it to be 95db for track and although I dont have the car back yet he has set these photos through and its looking awesome Getting the car back off of him Tuesday and hes kindly taking it for alignment at Slide Motorsport for me Monday. received_1057221091014676 by ben taylor, on Flickr received_1057221417681310 by ben taylor, on Flickr received_1056758184394300 by ben taylor, on Flickr And an obligatory burger king stop photo IMG-20160415-WA0038 by ben taylor, on Flickr
  9. Got the z going in for alignment with the wisefab front this week and looking for advice. Stock z settings don't apply as the wisefab is heavily different to stock, zero kpi and little scrub for instance. My thinking is that for track work the zero kpi isnt ideal so the best plan is to use a lot of castor and about 3deg negative camber to counter that? The roll centre is corrected though so 3deg may be too much bearing in mind it wont roll anywhere near as much as a stock z. Anyone any thoughts? I have adjustable castor, camber, track and toe for this session. Already set the ackerman to max allowable on the wisefab
  10. I loved it on mine, if you go to my Flickr via the links theres some pics of it on the car on track. Do a buy!
  11. Do i remember reading you guys knew where to get these? How much are they?
  12. Don't just go by size but also the spray pattern. I've heard bad things about deatschworks. Fwiw my 650cc SARDS from yahoo japan were £170 with all shipping fees, taxes (for the lefties) etc paid. Google yahoo.aleado.com for a translated yahoo auctions and I can put you in touch with a guy the other end who sorts the buying and shipping for a small fee
  13. Removing restrictions from an FI setup is just as important as n/a. Boost is a measure of restriction, free up the exhaust and inlet and ypu can run the same power at a lower boost levels and therefore improve reliability and reduce the heat generated. Just because you 'can' squeeze 600bhp from the stock setup by cranking up the boost doesn't mean it's the right way to do it.
  14. Im so far behind on the kit, been busy on houses and getting my z track ready for this year. But, NWP do a kit if you want to order from the states, if you don't I am mid way through getting an adapter plate made toount same tb amd harness as nwp kit for less money. Group buy will go up on here at the time
  15. Cap personal wealth...... Hahahahahahahaha
  16. Here I was hoping for advice on tax avoidance :'( Back to the accountant it is.....
  17. FINALLY resolved the wisefab fitment issues, had to cut the tie rods down, they use the same ones for all their kits it seems. Driftworks are amending the description to warn of this, also theyre redesigning the uprights for ABS and said I can have those when theyre done. Hopefully my mods solve it anyway. Also got my steering boots from DW (not included in wisefab kit...) IMG-20160405-WA0039 by ben taylor, on Flickr This is the fitment without spacers and an 8.5j et35 wheel. Crazy front track!! IMG-20160405-WA0067 by ben taylor, on Flickr gonna have to space the back out quite a lot...... Also you case my new Tow strap in that pic, below you can see the mounting of it, screwed through slam panel into the chassis. winged it at trackdays so far without a towing eye. IMG-20160327-WA0009 by ben taylor, on Flickr Previously I had modded my oil cooler mounts to line it up with the bumper, this snap shows the outcome, much better! IMG-20160405-WA0058 by ben taylor, on Flickr Other jobs ongoing atm are that the injectors arrived ready for when the heads do. Good old yahoo japan came to the rescue with these 650cc SARD injectors that ended up at £170 shipped and taxes paid. IMG_20160330_152246 by ben taylor, on Flickr And Ive been working on custom seat mounts, with some pointers from Jez @ HDEV to try and get some more room my 6ft3 17st frame. Gained a lot more leg room but due to the shape of the roof Ive not gained head room. Still to work on.... IMG_20160402_170641 by ben taylor, on Flickr IMG_20160402_150006 by ben taylor, on Flickr
