  1. There won't be any back to back dyno runs as NWP have already done that and this is the same as their kit and also im not on a stock engine anymore But to those who have seen the NWP kit or just want one, it won't be long now
  2. *drum roll* Last night I bolted the prototype adapter to the engine, with the larger throttle body, plugged it in and started the car. Idled fine and revved up fine (unfortunately for my poor neighbours) HUZZAH!
  3. Can just turn the traction control off and get away from the different rolling radius issues. I'd go 17" as the tyres are cheaper, aesthetically they look small on a z but for track only wheels it doesn't matter

  6. People tried a 90mm but you can't get it to idle and run at low rum There's very little material in the neck of the plenum to open it up common way is to cut it off and start again. Although the neck is 70mm the restriction is more so in the tb and the afm/intake

As explained, an open tb isnt an empty hole, theres stuff in the middle that disrupts and restricts air flow That 5mm diameter increase, increases the surface area by 13%, the diameter change doesn't sound much but its actually a big change And nwp dyno'D the items back to back, its all online if you're willing to dig through Google
  8. It's optimistic going by UK figures but very well documented state side. Right through all the mods we consider the max for bolt ons but as no one in the UK runs long tube headers, or bigger tb, or bigger maf and intake we have never seen it NWP have dyno plots etc of the difference a larger tb makes, a tb has a butterfly etc inside which disturbs the flow don't forget The key strangle points on a normally aspirated vq are the manifolds, tb and intake pipe/maf, then the plenum, then the cams etc The tb, inlet pipe/maf were improved on the hr by doubling up, something nissan didn't just do with no reason to. The hr also had significantly improved manifolds but still compromised due to emission laws needing the cats close to the engine.
  9. Look up NWP They don't increase your headline figure, but give you more hp after the peak in the higher revs When coupled with long tube manifolds, larger maf and intake and a plenum spacer the guys in the states are getting 300 at the wheels
  10. Haven't read all the pages but if anyone is looking for a cheap quiet stainless exhaust ive got one in the for sale section With decats it sounded ace in the cabin with zero drone but was quiet outside the car (87db tested at the track)
  11. I had a squeaking/squealing from the back that I thought was brake related..... Turns out it was the wheel bearing, might be worth getting that checked
  12. After I've finished tb ill be working on a 3.5" maf and intake pipe that locates filter in front of rad so perfect cold air feed to it About time the UK had these thibgs available

Pics will be up when I have a plate, jnoz if the local place let's me down ill hit you up And can test fit on my own Z basically I think the NWP kit, once you factor in postage, import duty etc, is overpriced so I'm copying their idea, not directly copying plate though as that means buying an NWP kit so designed from scratch will be as plug and play as NWP though
  14. I'm putting together bigger tb kit the same as NWP but cheaper. Just waiting on machine shop getting back to me with the adapter plate so I can test it then will apply to do a group buy on here Just waiting on machine shop
  15. Overflow bottles do fill with crap from atmospheric breathing Catch cans ive seen some good looking ones but few actually work, I want to get one made soaybe we could get a couple done?
  16. Why fit a valve? Just remove both pipes off of plenum and connect them together

    Bootlid

    Hi Im after an oem bootlid if anyone has a cheap one laid about. Paint condition doesn't matter but no dents. Cheaper the better
  19. Reason I ask about wheel or fly is that Abbey were saying they can get 300atw from an internally stock de, so if yours is fly it might be worth speaking to Abbey

I've seen them mounted from the underside instead of from the top, and then you could epoxy it in and paint it all to look like it was meant to be there It might not fit a de bonnet though :/ On Facebook there is a group called '350z parts for sale uk' or sonething like that and someone is selling a fibreglass vented hr bonnet. Could be worth a go and sell on your carbon one?
