I am just wondering if anyone is going to or has heard of this upcoming Japanese car show called JAE? (I believe it stands for Japanese Auto Extravaganza) I have a few friends who have been talking to me about JAE and have told me that they have been before and was quite good. I was just wondering if anyone on here is going or has been before? It seems quite cheap (£35 from Thursday onwards or £15 for Saturday/Sunday day tickets) for a show that is all things Japanese. JAE takes place every year in early September and attracts over 3,000 Japanese cars to the show. For the casual visitor it is the largest gathering of purely Japanese cars in Europe and a chance to see some amazing cars and enjoy four days of fun at this ultimate social gathering. JAE is the perfect place for like minded owners and traders to meet up and enjoy what is the popular Japanese car culture, it has been previously quoted as "the perfect way to do business" JAE began as a meeting of Datsun Z club members as far back as 1991 and with the growing interest in Japanese cars as both classics and modern super cars since that time, it has grown to the largest gathering of Japanese vehicles of all types in Europe and continues to grow steadily without forgetting its roots. With everything from 60′s (and earlier) classic / retro machines to the latest electronically controlled supercars, the show has something for everyone throughout the weekend! I had a dashcam in my old car but it didnt do anything for me when an uninsured driver hit me and then drove off. The police even viewed it on the local CCTV but couldn't seem to trace the car to any owner due to the car being registered in false details and my insurance company was going to knock my no claims bonus down to 1 year even though it was not my fault! They are a good idea but it was just my luck that when I needed it the other bloody driver had no insurance! I do agree with you veilside, in a lot of situations a dash cam would probably settle the dispute of whose fault the crash is so it would seem a logical thing for an insurance company to do.

I agree with HaydnH. Call his bluff, chances are he will drop it and is just looking to make a bit of quick cash.

If you ever happen to come further north I would be interested, 3.5 hours is a little too far and our biggest car is the Z so even if I could travel down I am not too sure I would fit these in the boot!

Were the rays sold?

The pictures are amazing! Definintely looks like something I need to do. Did you pre-book hotels/accomodation before your trip or did you just plan the route and stop at any hotel as you drove through?

Haha Chris, I think thats what i'm finding, the clutch is just snappy and to be honest i'm fine with it most of the time, I think I must get a little bit giddy every now and again Ill have a look for this inspection hole, and see what I can see If I cant tell ill just ask someone who knows

Hi guys I recently bought a 350z and I am loving every minute of it! I have been reading through the forums about the dual mass flywheel and single mass and I am now wondering whether my Zed has a SMF fitted? I have only test driven 350z in the past and I can't say I paid much attention but I feel like my Z is a bit jumpy when setting off unless I rev harder. I may just be paranoid and need to get fully used to the car but it has made me wonder, anyone know of any way to find out without taking the gearbox off? Scott

We will have to compare our zeds and see Well I had an Astra before this (cheap to insure and run so don't judge!) and it was around £900 for the year, my insurance company has charged me an extra £500 until February when it renews, so I don't think that is too bad. Not sure what the premium will be when it renews, I will have 6 years no claims then, the only thing I have going against me is the fact I have 3 points for a bald tyre, which affect my premium. Anyway, we went up to a place called Wycoller, near Colne and past Scar Top (if that is familiar with anyone around the North Yorkshire area) and I took a few pictures. I would upload the pictures but it doesn't want to let me. It lets me preview the pictures I want to upload but when I try post them I get an error message saying 'You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community.' I have noticed my zed seems quite loud so I looked underneath the other day and the car appears to have a full stainless steel exhaust system, with no cats. I am aware that it will need changing before an MOT but I don't mind because I don't need to save up for a new exhaust system because it has one! Just might need to invest in some HFCs before MOT time.

Tomorrow is the day I pick up my Zed!! I will have some pictures up as soon as I have had some playtime in it. Also ordered myself a stubby aerial. Already feeling zeditus taking over me and I havn't even picked the car up yet!

Hi everyone, my names Scott and I am from West Yorkshire. I signed up to the forum quite a while ago lurking around and quite frequently visiting the zeds for sale section but the insurance costs were quite off-putting (I am 22) so I never thought I would be able to own one until I was nearer 30 but after almost giving up hope ive managed to find a reasonable premium so after looking at a few and a 3.5 hour drive down the M1 I finally found the one. She is sunburnt orange GT pack UK model made in 2004. Picking her up in around 2 weeks, excited is an under statement. Hopefully see you guys around! Scott

Thank you all for the welcome! I'm from Bradford (near leeds) not the best place for insurance haha, I will definitely have a look at the zeds for sale section. I have already spoke to sky and they said 25, I have not tried Adrian flux I'll be giving them a ring soon. Also, what are your opinions on imports? I know someone who loves there imported fairlady but something inside me doesn't agree with the idea of buying an import Thanks again guys
