  1. Might be what you want but I want that big rush of power. flat torque curves are great if you are restricted by gearing You can make more torque at lower rpm with boost my 1.4 supercharged daily makes more torque at lower rpm than my zed
  2. If only it was all about power rather than drivability/ flexibility/economy etc
  3. I'd rather have a supercharger than either but a supercharger with a turbo works well
  4. The replacement for displacement is boost!
  5. Rb26 had its day a while back , LS is the way forward
  6. thats a non HR model , I know most people know that but a newbie like me figured all 07 cars were HR's , not sure if thats an issue for the OP but when HR's can be had for £9k not sure the earlier model would be as desirable
  7. Funnily enough my recently bought zed is making unpleasant noises , checking you tube there are dozen of vids of fuel dampner and dual mass flywheel rattles , it seems widely regarded as normal
  8. I was worried about mine as it was idling at 1100-1200, spoke to Jez at HDev about it and he filled me in about it not being an uncommon fault on the HR . An idle relearn solved my issue though The only thing I can think is air leak or poss lambda fault but think this would trigger a fault code
  9. Nice to see another club jap regular
  10. Are insurers ok with wheel spacers ?
  11. I've heard this can be due to an ecu fault Has anything been apart recently , have you checked for fault codes?
  12. Took me 5 mins ! Used a stopwatch on my phone it was a doddle
  13. Was a very special GTR ! Surprised how many of your old rides I remember Nigel
  14. There is a thread in "other cars" with some of my cars and bikes
  15. No it's not UK law to have washers and self levellers as stated many cars never had this feature
  16. So next job was to get some mats , just a set of OEM ones for now Then I did the BOSE hack so I can use my ipod in the car , dont need a pic of that or the new Supersports fitted on the back This weekend I fitted my Blackvue dashcam which I removed from my old car , its too the right of the rear view mirror in this pic Also plastic dipped the lower front bumper , not so sure about this but will live with it for a bit . And marmite though it may be , I had some flyeyes stuff left over so applied some to the front reflectors as they are far too orange for my liking
  17. Went to a local meet and someone took a nice pic under the lights which show the depth of gloss a little better
  18. Bought my car a couple of weeks ago on the 14th November 2013 so thought i'd document the project It was a stock '07 HR model with the GT pack , only two owners the first one did 34,000 miles in two years the last owner only did 20k in four , full main dealer history Few chips and scrapes on what is essentially an "honest" car its been enjoyed but not enthusiast owned so needs a bit of TLC Few issues when i bought it : Rear tyres low Idle too high Oil pressure reading too low Service due in Dec No mats throughout Bit grubby First pics the day after i collected it First job a proper detail Snow foamed and washed , then clayed ,washed again, then polished with Blackfire Gloss enhancer applied with a DA, LSP was Supernatural Hybrid then Supernatural Acrylic spritz Didnt remove the wheels as I normally do but just a good clean with Espuma revolution then Zaino ZAIO and then rimwax and supernatural spritz Interior washed with warm water and fairy liquid , seats treated with Zaino leather in a bottle Windows cleaned with isoprop and water and then polished and treated with Carlack , side windows just have Supernatural on them Under the bonnet cleaned with Surfex and then treated with 303 protector Also popped up to Horsham developments for a pair of air filters (They were filthy) and a gallon of oil to see if that made any difference to the reading (It didnt) Some afters
  19. You will almost certainly need to do the idle relearn afterwards , you will need to do the "pedal dance" or use "consult" an obd reader wont do it for you
  20. So what we are saying is that this proceedure does a full ECU reset not just the throttle bodies, air flow and pedal trims ? Thats certainly what it feels like
  21. Think its more than £100 for each remap as well more like £250 so ive seen
  22. Had an issue where the rpm was hanging at 1500-1600 when coming to a stop and that idle was around 1100rpm . So did the throttle pedal reset, throttle valve reset and then the idle relearn , all worked great idle now is 750rpm or so . But The car drives much differently , feels like some ignition timing has been added , the car picks up easier and seems to rev cleaner Really wasn't expecting this so feels like a full ecu reset but is that what happened ?
  23. They would be going on this just not 100% sure as the rays are quite nice Might look for something simular to the rays bit look a bit more agressive Have you got spacers on that ?
