Hi All, I normally look after detailing duties myself, but we're picking up a factory new car (no, not a replacement for the zed!) at the end of the month so would like to get it protected properly rather than my rather amateurish attempts. To that end, and knowing how useful this forum has been for me in general, does anyone have any recommendations for who to turn to in the Berkshire/ Reading area, and what I should be looking to get done? Thanks (and mods sorry if this is in the wrong place!)

H-dev (near newbury) did the work on my HR last year when it needed it, might be close enough for you to get to? From memory it was a fixed price £799, and no hesitations recommending them

My 2008 HR is on about 75k miles, and it has 5w30

Welcome to the forum! Good summary here, one tiny orrection is HR redline is 7.5k not 7k. The other thing to check if your budget streches to a HR is whether the oil gallery gaskets have been replaced, plenty of topics on here that go in to more detail on it (its a c.£800 job to fix)

I'm just south of Reading, and I see a silver DE every couple of weeks going the opposite way to me in the morning around Grazely Green Sounds good

This weekend was a wash, polish, and wax, together with a bit of attention to some stone chips and conditioning the leather. Spending some hours properly cleaning the car is quite therapeutic, must do it more often...

I'm sure others far more knowledgeable than me will be along soon, but the only HR specific I can think of is the are the oil gallery gaskets are a common problem. Do a search on here and there's all the info you'll need

You parked next to me in the twin of my car Monday evening in waitrose bracknell. First I thought I was seeing double as I walked back to the car, then I realised that mine needs a clean as you were showing me up!

Those pressures are about the same as mine after the gaskets were changed. Cold start is 110-120, once warm idle is just under 30, 2k revs is 60, and 3k around 80

I'd say it's mainly white with a hint of bluegrey. Definately not grey. Pic of mine with the frost interior if it helps:

As others have suggested, I've found that anti glare glasses make a noticeable difference

Horsham are the most local garage to me, but after my experience there this month even if I was a substantial distance away I'd be making the time to take the 350 to them in future. They booked me in at short notice and Rich really went the extra mile keeping me informed on what was going on, what my options were, and all round just great service. Everyone there is friendly and obviously passionate about the cars they work on. A great garage that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

One tiny thing that I only noticed today - maybe it's just mine but the steering wheel isn't quite round. It's got 2 little notches just below the 9 and 3 o'clock that are in the perfect position to slightly support the base of the driver's hands

Hi, I finally got around to buying a 350z last weekend, after too many years of finding excuses to not to. These forums have been invaluable in learning a bit more about them, so looking forward to getting involved with the community now I can count myself a full member. Anyway, about the car, on the surface it's a completely standard HR roadster with the GT pack, 60k miles, San Marino (?) blue, but the thing that attracted me more than anything was the grey/white Frost leather. I hadn't seen that on any other Zeds I've been looking at, but I liked the combo and didn't think twice about it until a bit of digging on here suggests it's not exactly a common interior? Oh, I'm in the Reading area, so any recommendations on a good garage for servicing etc would be appreciated!
