  1. Just in case anyone else has this problem, here is a photo of the wire that powers the antenna. Once I connected this up to a 12v power source (I spliced it into the blue an white wire that turns the amplifier on), my signal massively improved and I can now get every station I want.
  2. If you do sell, I may be interested.
  3. Early days yet, and I don't know how accurate the trip/fuel computer is but, I am seeing 35 mpg on the half dozen 40 mile motor way trips I have made. I'm not driving like a pensioner and usually make good progress, given half the chance. I have used the cruise control on quite a few stretches where road works limit the speed using speed average cameras if that makes any difference. I have been surprised by the mpg, as I was expecting mid 20's.
  4. No, the wheels are the standard touring alloys and have never been refurbed. Chances are, it's a build up on one of the pads. I had a similar problem on a Mk1 MX5 and it was only whilst slowly rotating the wheel by hand whilst the car was on axel stands, that I felt a part of the disc catch as it passed under the pads. I took the disc off and gave it a quick sanding, that solved the problem. i am hoping its the same with the 350z discs, but as I need to take the wheels off and clean everything up, it makes sense to buy pads and change them over at the same time. when ever I buy a car, I always carry out a full change of all the fluids, plugs, filters and break pads. That way I can start my own service history and I know what needs changing and when.
  5. Thanks mate. I didn't even notice it was in the wrong place.
  6. Looks like I may have found a solution to my problem. http://my350z.com/forum/audio-and-video/128070-antenna-amp-wire.html I'm at work this morning, so can't check to see if the wire is connected.
  7. Thanks for the reply. Powered amplifier was the the correct term I was looking for. I can't see where I've missed a connection either, I wonder if the Bose unit has its own?
  8. I installed an Appradio 2 in my 350z and despite trying various aerials I can't seem to get a decent signal. I am beginning to wonder if the original Bose provide any sort of boost to the aerial? Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong?
  9. Which pads dust least?
  10. My car stood on my drive for a good few weeks whilst I was away working, this morning whilst on my way up the M6 I noticed that I have a pronounced judder coming from the front when I apply the brakes. I have noticed that even at low speeds I get a bit of judder, but not as pronounced as it is when braking from 70 mph. I think I may need to take the discs off and give them a good clean and check to see if I have any build up on them. As I have only had the car about a month, I don't know what state the pads will be in, so I might as well get a set of new ones. I can get a set of Brembo front and rear pads for £70 or the yellowstuff front and rear for £125. What do members think about the Brembo pads, are they any good? I don't do track days if that makes any difference.

    Electric cubby

Do you have an unmarked cubby available? PM me with details.
  12. I'm sure that you'll have no problems at all fitting those tyre sizes under the arches unless you're seriously lowered, the question is over whether the traction control will like the front tyre size. The majority of people running 19" wheels on a 350Z including myself use 245/35R19 front, 275/35R19 rear as that's what's fitted to the Nismos and causes no trouble. The 350Z traction control expects the front tyre diameter to be a little less than the rear, whereas the 370Z has a front tyre that's a slightly larger diameter than the rear. This is where your problem could arise, using 245/35 and 275/35 means the front is 21mm smaller whereas 245/40 and 275/35 would mean the front is 3.5mm larger. My suggestion would be to try it and see what happens, if it kicks up a fuss then get some 245/35 tyres and sell the 245/40 ones on the forum to a 370Z owner. Thanks for the explanation.

    Electric cubby

    This is still available.
  14. Thanks, those look stunning. Looking around the standard 370z wheels seem to be rear 275/35R19 W 96 and front 245/40R19 W 94. Will a set of these go under the arches of a 350z without modification?
  15. What size spacers would I need?
  16. Are there any issues with fitting wheels from a 370Z GT to a 350z? They are 19" 10j.
  17. Is it to late to order a motordyne 5/16th Plenum spacer?

    Electric cubby

I bought this thinking I could just swop the scratched lid out on my 2003 350z but it seems I need the complete cubby with the lid attached. Anyone want to swop it for a un-marked cubby with lid + postage?
  19. Before I place an order. Apart from the different thickness, what is the difference/benefit of fitting a 1/2" spacer instead of a 5/16th spacer? Is there anything else I would need in order to fit one of these?
  20. Yes, the guy who fitted my boiler has just been done for the 4th time for using his mobile phone . Some people aren't getting the message and IMHO the deterrent isn't tough enough. I'd like to see 4 points instead of 3 and a punitive sliding scale of fines, first time £250, second time £500, third time £1,000 and a 12 months ban. Anyone caught texting should get 6 points and a £500 fine. Pete
  21. Totally agree, but I would like to see the criteria for what is considered hogging the middle lane. Agreed. My understanding (from the IAM) is that if you can occupy the nearside lane for in excess of 15 seconds then you should move there rather than staying in the middle lane. Given the same principle applies if you are in the outside lane, is where I can see some 'issues' as everyone stacks up behind the 65-69mph outside lane hogger who has made their mind up that is the speed everyone should be doing and it may well be those on the end of the 'train' waiting to get by and not wanting to illegally undertake who get caught, when it really should be the clown at the front who should be done. the problem is that, the large number of trucks and slow moving vehicles on the inside lane, make it necessary for drivers to stay in the middle lane for miles before they can get back into the inside lane, and most don't want to stop there, as most trucks and a good number of fleet vehicles have speed limiters set below 70mph. There's no such thing as a slow lane or fast lane, all vehicles should be capable of going at 75 - 80mph. Royal Mail vehicles are limited to 55mph.
