This is why I bang on to people about insuring what you want insured, not just the bare minimum. Nic did it correctly and had his mods insured, even if they weren't insured for their full value. Most people just have coverage that lets them have mods on their car, which means you could put £10K worth of wheels, bodykits etc and get precisely zero back. Sorry to hear you didn't get as much back for the mods as you wanted mate, but I don't think you did too bad out of that having heard a few horror stories. No comfort, I know, but hopefully it'll still give you a base to move onto the next project with. I thought I did but no Market value so basically I got 18 for the car which I thought was generous but only 5 for mods 18k isnt bad really , my 2012 GT Edition with 35k on it only booked at 17 something but as you say a killer on the mods let alone the cost of installation of everything Yeah they wanted to give me between 12 and 14 until my broker stepped in Cant fault pace ward on the servicein that respect

Thanks for all the kind word guys Yes I'm totally gutted especially as I'm due to head to Europe in June It was my own stupid fault and that makes it even harder! I have and still are kicking myself very hard Buuuuut feeling sorry for myself isn't going to change anything and It could of been so much worse I could of hurt myself as well as someone else and I didn't so for that I'm thankfull Big lesson learnt if it's anything other than dry and sunny leave the ponies in the stable As for next car I'd love to build another z and can't afford much else I like I could possibly replace the car and parts just. but that doesn't help me with fitting and tuning etc That I would have to rob the piggy bank for and I don't think I'm prepared to do that So I think I might pick up a nice ep3 or something in expensive and reliable to have a bit of fun in the fact that I can go on my trip with my friends means more than the car I'm in Thanks again guys I'll keep you posted if I can make another build work And get another thred going in the future maybe.

I come to you today with a very heavy heart I almost don't want to post this thred as it's such a sad day for me So last week I went out to fetch dog food it was a dark miserable wet night and on my return on a country road I managed to get into a situation of over stear which totally took my by surprise I had just fitted the quaife and I think that changed where the grip levels were at I can only put it down to that it was a massive shock Anyway I couldn't recover the slide and bang she's gone I've been threw the mill this week regarding where I stood with the insurance But I've come away with market value of the car and 50% of mods They wanted 30% to buy the car back I just couldn't afford to go down that route I'm very lucky to walk away from the accident with nothing more than a bang to the head and nobody else was hurt so I can live with the fact that it's a material loss and move on So that's it folks the end of this story I need to go and have a good think about where to go next But the fact is there isn't a lot that will hold a candle to my stealth bomber in terms of bang for buck That's all for now
