  1. There is a difference between a pipe that's been designed like that, and another pipe designed to be tubular but hammered into another shape. I imagine they did a bit of fluid dynamics work before they got the sledge out.
  2. If you're getting battery issues, use the swipe up for quick settings and switch off your wifi and BT if you're not using them. Hunting for wifi all day really eats power. In settings switch off Background App Refresh, switch off auto brightness (seems to churn battery) and again use quick settings if you need to adjust - I find the mid point works nicely. Plus the normal stuff, switch off button click noises, set the screen auto off to a short time, disable fetch new data for email (or switch the frequency down to hourly).
  3. I've had it on my phone for a while now and it's a leap forward in usability, the palette is a big jump but I've come to like it. I don't mind a pastel shade or two. Put it on my ipad yesterday, as I'd not bothered with the betas on there, feels like the screen is 10% bigger. Reminders and calendar and mail are much improved, as is safari. Very pleased. I'm a little curious what the release version is going to do for battery life...
  4. Seen some recent excitement on here about the bilt hamber clay, got one but not had chance to use yet with the weather sucking balls. Just tried the poorboys white diamond glaze a few weeks ago, really liked it, they do an equivalent black hole glaze for dark cars (mine's GM). Also got the poorboys liquid nattys blue after reading good stuff on here, but again not got any on her yet. Not dabbled too much in waxes and polishes (except the Meg's 3 stage which didn't really get me excited), just been using the stuff in Waxybox so far. I'm still a learner in this area. Of all the stuff I've been experimenting with so far, my favourite product is the angelwax QED. It's well priced, goes on like a dream and leaves a great (IMHO) finish, I can do the whole car in a few minutes. Great for finishing off the sneaky mid-week in between wash & dry, for a shiny finish for practically no effort. http://www.angelwax.co.uk/?wpsc-product=qed Have fun on your mega order, nothing better than getting a big box of fresh detailing goodies to play with - except actually driving the Zed of course.
  5. It's quite a personal thing but so far I've used: http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk http://www.theultimatefinish.co.uk and http://www.angelwax.co.uk for my favourite (so far) quick exterior detailer. I've picked up some stuff off amazon too. Ultimatefinish give you a little discount when you buy stuff and occasionally do some reasonable promotions. Shipping can be sluggish though. Enjoy!
  6. I love snowing, espuma smells so nice I don't even care how good it is and it's so much fun spraying it around. It confuses the hell out of the natives round my parts. What's not to like?

    Wheel nuts

They look quite good! How long u had them for and how many times you had them off and on? Couple of months, been off once, seem fine. I think the masking tape trick is the key.
  8. I got one of these as I thought it was a bit more fun than a straight code reader. Works over wi-fi rather than BT, the link can drop to my iphone after about 5-10 mins from time to time, but works plenty long enough to view fault codes. However, not had a real chance to test it in anger as I've not had any fault codes yet. http://iobd2.co.uk/

    Wheel nuts

I got some black mutekis off tarmac, look sweet and no sign of rust as yet. http://www.tarmacsportz.co.uk/GB/Muteki_Super_Tuner_Closed_Wheel_Nuts/350z-MutekiSTClosed.aspx
  10. Good effort, recovery partitions don't float my boat, when you need them they're probably already bust Give me a floppy with command line and some stuff to type in off the Internet any day! Why would they disable safe mode? Like you'll be able to use msconfig from windows when you're boot is lunched, great thinking MS.
  11. I really like the existing, but from those, 2 is great and I think 1 would be if the -uk.com text was slightly taller/less squat.
  12. Love the new door rests. Mine are nasty. What colour did you go for? Best place to send them too? It was just the plastidip offering in black. Did it myself, with plastidip it's no big deal as you can simply peel off if you make a mess of it. However, I found the finish looked nice, but didn't stand up to usage. Looked very tired after a month or so. I'd recommend you give it a go to see if you like the finish, but if you want something durable I'd suggest a proper paint over plastidip. I've since replaced with RT's fantastic carbon dipped version and am refurbing my old ones with better paint. However, using real paint is much more difficult than plastidip so it's been a bit of a learning curve. If I can't get it right I may just sand them back and give them to my local bodyshop to do a pro job in satin black, it shouldn't be expensive if they have the paint on hand.
  13. What Pete said. See if you canget some utilities or maybe even a trial version of windows onto a USB and see if you can run bootrec (well that's what it was called in win 7) or if you have a "good" win 8 installation create a recovery USB. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows-8/create-usb-recovery-drive You may need to enter BIOS at boot to make it boot from USB. Good luck, I spent Sunday arguing with a win 7 installation boot loader problem for my folks, I'm never going back to the dark side...
  14. I'd never really given wheel weight much thought, I've since learnt the error of my ways, but the bloke who refurbished them made a big song and dance about how much lighter they were than he'd expected. Must be a good thing.
  15. I think all your future posts should be bilingual, with a Spanish version underneath. Good practice and it gives the place a sophisticated European vibe.
  16. Por supuesto. Good effort for giving it a crack, it's a relatively well structured language to get going in I found (compared to my butchering of French!). I did some Spanish classes for a month in South America and loved every minute of it. People are much friendlier when you hack up their language than if you use the shout in English & point system. I wish I got to practice it more, but not too many Latinos around these parts. Think I may look out for a course now you mention it... ¡Suerte!
  17. Don't sweat it. This is same response I usually get talking to glamorous women It's the "you don't look like you should be talking to me" response. Keep going and you'll find a salesman on a bad run, or with half a brain, who will treat you like a potential customer and not patronise you. Next time simply say thanks, turn around and light up the tyres as you burn through the forecourt.
  18. I was thinking about this when my scorpion recently started making a racket, but it's since been sorted. The only style single exit that got my juices flowing was the big, central, oblong one sticking out the back of a lambo.
  19. Good job you shifted all the heavy sound proofing out to make room for all the lightweight metalwork! Nice work in there.
