I think it looks ok? The new intake tube was maybe 1cm shorter than the previous, so it was bit of stretch at the top for the silicone coupler to be tight on the throttle body and the tube, but I think it's got there in the end. Not quite the 15 minutes I was lead to believe If anything looks weird or wrong, please do shout now, I need to drive her tomorrow! Thanks for your comments

This is very interesting. Does kitchen aluminium foil work too, or just tin based? Yes, it does - It's actually aluminium foil you need, I'm not sure I've ever actually seen tin foil before?! The aluminium is softer than steel, so it will not scratch the surface, it's non abrasive. Rust is metal that has taken on extra oxygen atoms (oxidation) and the aluminium leeches the oxygen atoms away from the rust, breaking it down. A by product of this is also a fine metal polishing compound consisting of the resultant aluminium oxide mixed with the water you're using to lubricate. I've used this many times, it's cheap and awesome! I love this place. Always something new to learn thanks ts. Check out this vid on the same theme, but with a magical ingredient...

Sorry mate, fat fingers on my phone screen, it's millimetres from "styling".

Got a shiny new CF intake pipe to go in, straight swap for what's in there, with OEM airbox and MAF retained. This is the sort of "add on job" my tech would usually do when the Zed's in for something else, but it looks like a fairly straightforward job so I figure I'll break out my sockets and get a tan. Is changing the intake pipe as straightforward as it appears, anything I need to be mindful of when I'm hitting it with a hammer after it has all come to pieces? Thanks, Stu.

If it wasn't split between 3 of us, I'd have just bought a car for less! -

£1400 for 20 days. Not the cheapest but it was the easiest to sort out and have a designated model. -

Given the car is about a mile long and half a mile wide, I'm at a loss as to why the boot is so small However, it seemed positively cavernous in comparison to the boot in the convertible Mustangs soft bags, rather than solid suitcases are a must. If I was being sensible, I'd go for an SUV but I can't resist a convertible in the sunshine. -

Snap! I'm in Florida for a road trip for three weeks in September too. Reserved exact model via the Hertz Adrenaline Collection (but reservation made months ago), got a convertible Camaro which JUST takes three men and luggage (if you don't mind a bag on one of the back seats while the top is down). I don't need an ITDP but I got one anyway, a friend of mine got pulled in Nevada for misdemeanour speeding and Highway Patrol were happy with UK licence only, but as I said, I got one anyway. Most looking forward to driving the Oversea Highway, the 'glades and also a trip around the pan handle to New Orleans. Gonna watch the Miami Dolphins (well mainly their cheerleaders ) too. Have fun, keep an eye out for us in the Camaro. Don't forget your ESTA too Edit- just found this R – USA (Florida) compulsory IDP – 1 January 2013 A law was introduced in Florida, USA, on 1 January 2013 requiring all persons who hold a licence issued outside of the US to carry an International Driving Permit along with their national driving licence. The Governor of Florida repealed this law on 2 April 2013, however, car hire companies and insurance companies can impose their own terms and conditions so you should check with your intended hire/insurance company prior to travel or obtain an IDP as a precautionary measure. -

I've got a rattle which appears about 1300 rpm and either stops or is drowned out by the exhaust at higher revs. It diminishes when she warms up but doesn't go, clutch position makes no difference. It's not cats or cat heat shields or back of the cats, definitely forward of the seats. It's a high pitched metallic rattle? I had a look in the bay, but couldn't see anything obvious. Any ideas? Thanks.

You'll never know until you get stuck in. Give it a rub for an hour and see where you are.

You might also consider adding http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/accessories/wire-wool/prod_377.html to your armoury.

The only downside is it takes a fair chunk of elbow grease and burns through microfibres (which will only be fit for the bin after!).

I've got a Pioneer AVH-X2500BT, works with steering controls with the right adapter, bluetooth, works with my reverse cam, plays DVDs full of MP3s as well as movies (not sure this is that useful TBH ). Things I wish I'd considered when I bought it are: The touchscreen is a little laggy, compared to say an modern smartphone, not sure how it compares to other brans of HU Integrated sat nav - I'd prefer not to have an extra device in there Digital radio (wish I'd got this) Front facing USB port - wish I'd got one so I could do firmware updates and use USB stick without ripping the console out. The second and third of the above can be worked around with an adapter for a smartphone and an unlimited data deal. There's loads to choose from, so do a bit of reading as well as what comes up on here. Good luck mate.

I only ever do the tips but when I do use the Britemax Metal Twins. Not sure what your exhaust is made of, so you might want to check that before splashing any cash http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=152466 http://www.i4detailing.co.uk/shop/britemax-metal-twins-metal-cleaner-polish-and-sealant.html
