  8. If its somebody's Birthday that you don't know then just don't comment on it. If its somebody's Birthday that's a Friend or you have had dealings with then wish them Happy Birthday. But as it stands at the moment NOBODY is going to check the Birthday thread every day to see if its "Friend or Foe's" Birthday.. Come on Mods I sure you can see this..?? That's just my opinion.. :scare:

  12. 1.6 liter = 760 BHP.. Formula One car’s power is provided by a 1.6-litre turbocharged V6 engine which produces around 600bhp, though this represents just one component of an F1 car’s power unit. An additional 160bhp or so comes from an advanced Energy Recovery System (ERS) which utilises two clever motor generator units (MGU) that convert mechanical and heat energy to electrical energy and vice versa.
  13. Sad news at the Nestle factory today. A member of staff was seriously injured when a pallet of chocolate fell more than 50 feet and crushed him underneath. He tried in vain to attract attention but every time he shouted "the milky bars are on me" everyone just cheered!!!

  17. Nico Rosberg extends contract with Mercedes Formula 1 team The Mercedes Formula 1 team has announced Nico Rosberg has signed a multi-year contract extension to stay at the Brackley-based squad. Rosberg, currently leading the championship after the first nine races of the season, joined the team in Mercedes' return to Formula 1 at the start of the 2010 season. The 29-year-old German gave Mercedes it first win since its return in the 2012 Chinese Grand Prix. Since then, Rosberg has scored another five victories and eight pole positions. "I am very proud to drive the Formula 1 Silver Arrow of the modern era," said Rosberg, who re-signed his contract earlier this week. "As a German, the heritage of Mercedes-Benz is very special for me, and I am proud to be able to represent the best car brand around the world. "It has been a difficult road to get to where we are now - but everybody kept believing and, thanks to the fantastic support from Mercedes-Benz, we are now leading the way in F1. "I'm looking forward to the next years together, when we will keep pushing to win even more races - and, hopefully, championships." Mercedes boss Toto Wolff added: "Nico has been part of the Silver Arrows project since day one and he has a big stake in the development of the team since 2010. His speed, commitment and focus have all helped to give clear direction and to drive the team forward. "With his performances in 2014, Nico has demonstrated to the outside world what we knew already in the team: that he is one of the very top drivers in Formula 1. "This new contract brings us important stability and continuity for the future and I am delighted to be able to make the announcement in time for the home race of Mercedes-Benz and Nico in Hockenheim."
  18. One of the most impressive uses of Ultra-Ever Dry to date is as a self-cleaning paint that effectively renders car washes something of the past. The car manufacturing giant Nissan is the first carmaker to test the technology on automotive bodywork with its Note model, successfully preventing standing water, rain and road spray from creating marks and smears on the car’s surface. According to Nissan the coating has responded well to initial tests against rain, spray, frost, sleet and standing water. Further tests will be required before the Note will arrive at forecourts equipped with the Ultra-Ever Dry technology, but the move is already a very exciting sign of things to come. “The Nissan Note has been carefully engineered to take the stress out of customer driving, and Nissan’s engineers are constantly thinking of new ways to make families’ lives easier,†said Geraldine Ingham, chief marketing manager for Nissan Note. “We are committed to addressing everyday problems our customers face and will always consider testing exciting, cutting edge technology like this incredible coating application.†Nissan’s Note already features a special “wash and blow dry†function, which uses water and compressed air to keep its rear view camera lens free from dirt. But Ultra-Ever Dry will take the Note’s self-cleaning ability up a couple of notches. While there aren’t any plans to offer the bucket and sponge-defying paint as standard on Nissan models in the near future, the company is considering the coating as a future aftermarket option. The impact this technology will have on cars in the UK is considerable: Nissan has been the largest manufacturer of cars in the UK since 1998, producing more than 500,000 cars last year and employing over 6,500 workers at its state-of-the-art Sunderland plant. The company has been producing cars at Sunderland since 1986 and has invested billions of pounds in creating thousands of local jobs. Although it’s primarily an industrial product, applying Ultra-Ever Dry is a relatively straightforward one-step process. As a result its uses are endless – especially since the paint doesn’t just function as a protective barrier against water, in all its states from ice to steam, but also mud, cement and refined oils. Its main functions include anti-wetting (keeping products dry), anti-corrosion (protecting against moisture build-up), anti-icing (by keeping surfaces dry, no ice can form) and anti-contamination (materials and liquids containing bacteria and radiation cannot attach to the surface). Solutions other than car paint may include keeping boots tidy and protecting couches or rugs, but when you employ some left-brain thinking a myriad other options present themselves. These include protecting boat hulls against algae growth and shielding electronic boards from corrosion to extend product lifespan. When applied carefully to electronic equipment such as laptops and mobile phones, Ultra-Ever Dry could even help make the digital circuitry waterproof – promising news indeed for anybody who has ever feared knocking a cuppa over their keyboard.
