Hi Guys, I was just doing some work with the diff of my Z and tried to fit the Nismo diff off my Skyline into the casing. (check my build thread out if you're wondering why I would bother to do so lol) Anyways it turns out that's not going to work. Does anyone on here know the lengths of the drives shafts off their 350??? I can measure the GTR shafts I have to see if they are the same Thanks in advance guys Bizz

Hi Guys, Just wanted to let you know that I haven't died or given up with the car, it's still at Clark Customs being caged It's been a mixture of Jason getting pulled away from the project by emergency work at his other job and me changing the design of the cage and adding new bits in. The cage is currently in position, with the door bars TIG'ed in so its starting to look really smart. Last night Jay was making the extra bars which are coming off the A-pillar support and going forward to the turrets. Really pining for the car now as I can't really get on with anything else until its back of my other subframes arrive :'( So if anyone wants to come round and take me out for a spin in their 350z or if you need some work done let me know :-P lol -
Good work Stu. It's looking really tidy and very nice example. I know what you mean about the forum though. I only joined a little while ago but everyone is friendly and got lots of useful hints, tips and comments. No stupid keyboard warriors or haters on here!!! Keep up the good work man

100% I'll be up there at some point and I will definitely let you know. There will be some private testing once the car is done (private so I don't make a complete ass of myself lol) but I will then make sure that each of the days I will be going to will be posted up so you guys can all come and have a look and hopefully a passenger ride -

Thanks guys for helping Ian out with what's going on at Clark Customs :-P These guys really know what they are doing when it comes to cages, it will be an awesome piece of engineering and will be done in half the time that I'll be able to put the cage in. They'll also be doing the full custom exhaust system later in the build -

Yeah I am. Just working out whether or not I'm going to keep the electric side windows for a bit of luxury lol but the side windows and boot will definitely be replaced by lexan ones. -

Ok so I took Friday off to finally get the car ready to take away for caging and got all of the interior stitching finished. Here are the results... The underside... Now the car's at Clark Customs for the next couple of weeks, can't wait to see the finished result. Will post up progress pics when I can In the meantime I'll be trying to get my GTR diff into the Z casing and putting the doors and boot on a diet because I can't believe how heavy they are. Stay tuned..... -

No worries man, reckon it'll take in the region of £6k - £7k to get it complete (not including the initial price of the car) to get it all up and running. -

I wish mate, Sharpie's are good but not that good lol Yeah still seam or stitch welding. It's a really long process, made even longer by the fact I can only do it in evenings and at weekends. I'm doing the interior at the moment so I can take it to be caged at the weekend. Once it's come back from there it'll get flipped and the same will happen under the car. It's got to look worse before it looks better Whilst the car is away, I'll get to work on removing some of the weight from the boot, fitting the GTR diff into the Z diff casing and might start to reinforce the subframe so hopefully there'll be something more interesting to look at than just bits of weld (sorry everyone!) Obviously pics of the cage will appear as it takes shape -

Couple of quick pics from the weekend. Just hanging on the target of being ready for caging on Saturday 99% of the rear end done Picked up my Sharpie instead of the welder (other permanent marker pens are available :-P ) That's the nearside welded up to the bulkhead Another small step forward. Spend this evening wire brushing and picking out more seam weld, yawn!! lol -

Ok guys so we're at the 120 man hour mark now and this is what the nearside looks like now... So the rear, interior end of the car is pretty much stitched now just a couple of seams near the floor pan and the long seam which runs right the way across the width of the car. Then I can set into the front end under the windscreen and over the tunnel :-) Oh yeah... and these turned up today too........ thanks to Octet, cheers man!!! SPL solid subframe bushes SPL front camber arms (these things are a work of art) That should be just about all of the suspension geometry stuff now, I just need the suspension haha -

Hey Graeme, I know the house lol you got a 350 now? Yeah it's a battle fitting this in and the drifting around work and stuff but it's pretty addictive. Think you might regret the offer of help my man :-P
