  1. No pics tonight not much to see at the moment unless you want to see a few welds lol. seam welding is going well but taking ages. Should be worth it in the long run. hopefully i'll get some more updates up by the weekend
  2. latest update.... it was a long day for not much gain lol In the morning I set to taking the rear subframe out myself. I left the diff and all of the suspension on it because most of it would be going back in so the car would be left rolling Then began the balancing act... ...and it was out... Diff out to make the subframe lighter and to work out what kind of a task it will be to get the GTR diff and driveshafts into it (will worry about that another day) Next and the reason the subframe came out in the first place... the fuel tank. My mate Adam ended up getting pinned underneath it, in the tunnel recess luckily he's a skinny chap so didn't cause him too much of a problem lol Now there's tonnes of space, which will make it nice and easy to work on Bit of surface rust will need some attention but seeing as the car will be on the a trestle in about a month and the whole car is going to be painted I'm not too bothered Don't suppose any of you guys from the North East know someone that can whip out a windscreen? Thanks for your help
  3. Only took the wipers off to get them out of the way and for when the whole shell is sprayed. They'll go back on eventually
  4. Hey guys well it is sooo hot at the moment it is difficult to get much done in the evenings without swimming in my own sweat (grim!!) so I pulled out the ABS unit, brake servo, clutch master cylinder, windscreen wiper mechanism and the remainder of the loom Then I got the car up in the air so I can remove the rear subframe and fuel tank. Just incase there were any nasty sparks that come from the seam welding also to give me good access to the rest of the chassis. The good thing about the heat is that it doesn't stop me from receiving a few extra bits for the car ;-) This is the Custom Cage Weld-in multipoint rollcage. It's a good start for what I want to put in the car there will be a few modifications made to it before I will be completely happy. Once the seam welding is done inside this will be going straight in
  5. I got all of arms from SPL and GT Factory. They should give me full adjustability of the front and rear so I can set it just right for drifting They should start to arrive soon so keep an eye out and I'll label them up as they arrive Yo dude yeah was nice to meet you, was a good day just couldn't believe the heat. Think your car was the only one that didn't over heat It looked very civilised with all the interior :-P look forward to see you ripping Norfolk up again soon
  6. Yo Ok so still no massive updates from the last time but therer has been some purchases made so the cage is on its way and pretty much every arm possible for steering geometry and the rear subframe. I just need Coilovers so am after your help and recommendations. I have been recommended the BC ER-series coilovers but the best price I can get them for is about £1100. What do you guys recommend and where should I get them from?? P.s. I'm leaving tonight to head back to my home county of Norfolk for a charity drift event at King's Lynn. Always seriously laid back and is a great night so if you feel like popping across feel and and say hi
  7. Hi Guys, Apologies in adavance as there won't be many updates from me this weekend as I am guest judge for the BDC round 3 event at Teesside So if any of you are there try to pop along and say hi
  8. Glad you've found the subscribe button man Thanks there's a lot more to come just a shame this stuff always takes so long
  9. Finally it's clean inside!! I've left the bit of boot floor at the very back of the car as I will be cutting that out soon. This will be where the exhaust system will eventually go so it can be high and out of the way for the diffuser/venturi to be fitted Next jobs on the list before the seam welding begins are Remove remaining wiring harness from O/S A pillar Remove traction control/ABS unit, brake servo and clutch master cylinder Remove windscreen Remove fuel tank Hopefully the next set of pics to go up will be a bit more interesting than just the interior, sorry all but it has to be done
  10. Yeah it's taking quite a while. Removing all of the seam welding has taken longer than I imagined too but all has to come off ready for the welding. I haven't come up with a colour yet for the interior or exterior lol Think I'll put a few ideas up on here and see what which you guys prefer the most Good motto definitely thinking along the same lines. The engine is awesome so hopefully we'll make it a little better this time round thanks for the support man
  11. So... it's time for a few more pics. These last few days I have been stuck in the garage with an angle grinder wire brush, drill wire brush a selection of scrapers and a blow torch and achieved this..... Spot the difference... 70 man hours into the build now
  12. That's the addition cubby Nissan designed but failed when they realised there'd be a carpet going on top Good work with the sound deadening, that's a stupid amount of weight. Keen to see the LS3 build spec haha Wasso would have been an awesome secret compartment :-P yeah can't believe how much it all weighed. I'll whack the LS3 spec up shortly for you man
  13. This one? It's a bit of an illusion, the original strut is long gone. The circles are the two "hatches" on to the top of the fuel tank. From what I've seen so far (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) the offside is where the pickup and fuel lines are and the near side is where the level gauge is
  14. IT'S ALL OUT!!!!! Finally all 18kg of sound deadening stuck to the inside of the shell has gone!!!! woohoo!!!! (sorry I'm quite excited about that) I know the boot floor isn't very clean but I think I'm going to be cutting that out anyway My good lady chipping away Here we go If anyone wants to buy this for their car please let me know. You'll just need to pay for the postage :-P So tomorrow night is angle grinder and drill both fitted with wire brushes to get rid of all the little bits left over and to start taking off the paint ready for the stitching to begin
  15. Good choice of Rota. Looks nice man
  16. Thanks investigating already!! Really should be out in my workshop
  17. Yes!!! I have already been through this build with a fine tooth comb, getting a few ideas and looking at things I would like to do better. The one thing I haven't found though is what oil pan he's got on his LS. If any of you guys can lay your hands on that piece of info I would be very greatful
  18. Good work man, might bring mine round for you to do next week ;-) lol I wish she was doing it last night but I was on my lonesome. Had the radio on in the background and just chipped away to the music.
  19. It would definitely be nice to have somewhere specific to share setups, mods and other stuff on drifting specific to the z's
  20. argh still chipping the sound deadening out!!! at least it should be all out tomorrow then the big clean up can begin before the stitch welding bonanza lol
  21. Hey man, I didn't know you were on here it's nice to know you liked the 33. I'm hoping that this isn't going to be just a dream putting a lot of effort into it so hope you'll like the end product this time too
