  1. See you later man Here's the progress after this morning... And from the other side... Nearly ready to flip the car and finish it off
  2. Too right man payment is in the form of tea/coffee and biscuits. You should know we were discussing the terms the other night lol
  3. Ha don't worry about that Stevo it's my first time fitting it a Z too All cars are pretty much the same. Engine at the front power to the rear..... DONE!! lol Like lexx said we'll have to try and arrange a morning at my garage so a few people can come and see it in the metal half way through the build
  4. This is my Z with its winter kit and wheels on....
  5. Had my first 350z-uk visitor tonight, Lexx. Top bloke and brought round some neutral-rust for me to use on the beast. Good to meet you dude, next time bring your overalls :-P Hope to meet more of you soon
  6. haha think I'd better put more pics of the shed up instead of the car ;-) Cheers dude if I ever need a socket set wielding orange I'll know who to call
  7. Lol I'd better make sure the engine's hidden away tonight or it might get pretty uncomfortable. Cheers man, there's plenty we can have a go at to see what it can do
  8. Cheers guys. I suppose that's the benefit to growing up on a farm lol. Dad retired last year and has sold the farm so kept a little bit of space for him to put the new building up. Not as if he's short of them already he has the usual "farmer hoarding" disease lol Also my two renault 5 gt turbos are hidden away in one of them I'll get some more pics up of the finished product soon
  9. Hi all, Well after a week away doing a slightly different kind of building I'm back Been building Dad's new workshop with him down in Norfolk where I grew up. It's nearly finished and will be a great place to work on the Z when I take her home First part up The finished frame... Anyways enough of that.... may the welding marathon continue.... Here is what it looks like after another 3 hours work Getting there slowly, will soon need to clean everything forward of the front bulkhead so I can weld the turrets and the rest of the chassis rails before flipping it over and finishing it off. Hopefully by then I will have had a delivery from Mr. Octet so I can start to hover the V8 in place and make the engine mounts.
  10. Yeah that sounds realistic man. Just try your hardest not to rush, seen some terrible cars rock up at these events in the passed Would be cool to see you out there ripping it up too
  11. Hey man :-) the shafts are slightly different lengths but I am working on something that might be of use to you dude so keep in touch :-D Are you competing next year?
  12. cheers Lexx but i need to do 2 full calipers
  13. Epic keep an eye out for the bizz insurance charity thread haha
  14. Lol I'll just say how much time have you got??? Hoping I might get some help from the insurance guys on here cos they will be able to see all the effort that's gone into it
  15. I hope I can put a thread up like this when I come to insure mine
  16. It shouldn't make a massive difference but it sounds like you've checked pretty much everything else which could be effecting your handling so best get it checked so you can say you've look at everything. The geo set up frequency though is quite a personal preference thing. If you're using mainly standard arms and you're just using it for fast road then once a year is more than adequate. If you then move on to having more aftermarket arms or start drifting or doing a lot of track days I would definitely step it up a bit as I've found the aftermarket arms do tend to "self-adjust" a lot. Also if you're boucing off kerbs and stuff on a track it's just good practice to keep getting the geo checked. You'll soon realise if you need to keep going as regularly or not. When I was using the skyline for drifting I was doing the geo after every round or two at the most because the arms did move about by a few minutes regardless of how tight they were but also to try slightly different set ups to tease some more grip out of the car. I'm now going to be starting from scratch with the Z, going to take some time to get that perfect
  17. No it's safe to say that he's not one of those guys. Glad you had a bash at drifting though You'd better get yourself some cheap rims and join in with the rest of us. Where abouts are you based?
  18. haha small world. I saw Brad not so long ago up at the nissan factory. You boys had done a nice job on his car Cheers dude!! I'm really struggling not being out on track now!!
  19. Haha I might have to take you up on that because I could probably do with driving a 350 with a more standard chassis. The 100 extra bhp might make it a bit more interesting lol
  20. Cheers man, mid-October might be about the right kind of time actually, if you don't mind popping down that would be great. I should be welding most of this week then I'm back at my folks in Norfolk next week so nothing will get done I'll keep you posted dude. Thanks
  21. Thanks for the info dude :-) will definitely be checking this stuff out. Thanks for the offer too
