Bizz's LS3 6.2l V8 350Z Drift Car Project - IT CAN DRIFT!! :)
bizz replied to bizz's topic in Member Build Projects
Father Christmas came early today and dropped a few bits off now that I'd finished the seam welding.... ... See anything you like?? Heavy duty Turn-One powersteering pump to replace the pathetic original pump which cost me a season and some Tein track rod ends Whiteline drop links front and rear on top of the new forged Ferrea intake and exhaust valves for the LS3 (new cam, springs and other head ancilliaries to arrive soon) The new Moroso LS350Z oil pan You can see one of the four trap doors in the recess. Looks like a really nice bit of kit which came with the oil pickup tube, gasket, braided lines, filter relocation, oil fittings, dipstick and fixings. (I should hopefully be making my own version of this in near future so anyone wanting an LS conversion should be able to get everything from the UK) Hope you like I know I'm happy haha p.s. thanks to Adrian for getting this stuff into the UK for me -
VERY expensive, pure addiction.

Please keep the comments coming The underside primed to keep the rust at bay until it's sprayed properly To get to some of the areas I had to weld in the strut tops the LSZ had to get into an unusual position I hope this is the only time I see it like this Here are the last few that I did today finishing this long slog of welding The offside... Thanks for baring with me through this section of the build so now let the fun stuff begin p.s. Don't for get to check out my facebook page if you haven't already -

Ok.... so after another weeks worth of evenings here we are... Adele, my girlfriend, helped to get the sound deadening off the rear arch once we flipped the car Did a good job After welding and painting Here is the front end done that I did before tea tonight So now for the NeutraRust kindly donated by Lexx. Cheers bud. Anything that was weld or bare metal was covered ready for a quick layer of primer tomorrow Love the colour before it dries I would just like to say at this point that.... THE SEAM WELDING IS 95% DONE!!!! just a little bit left to do on the top of the turrets and under the wings I'm soooooo happy it has been a serious marathon and hope all the work has been worth it. Luckily I've got this far now as Father Octet-mas is delivering a large pack of goodies next week and my new suspension should arrive. Keep an eye on here to see what I've bought and more importantly I would like to say you have nearly endured the last pic of welding!! The V8 will be pulled out from hibernation soon for it's first trial fit. Stay Tuned ........... -
my dash is going to be flocked soon when I can find the last little bits to piece it together. Need the bit where the air bag goes on the passenger side (no air bag of course)

Welcome to the forum :-)

Nice car man, I agree it won't really do a great deal for grip especially when travelling sideways but every little helps and I'm hoping to do some track stuff with mine too so hopefully it will come in to effect then too
-
Think Dedman summed it up pretty well there Where abouts are you based and we'll try to let you know where's best to go for drifting. It's very easy to get into Just get yourself a pair of rubbish tyres for the rear of your car, a helmet and get stuck in. If you have any questions get in touch
-
Great work man, The pics look great in the first post and the vid was awesome too. Didn't know you were doing the gymkhana. Really nice driving Think you'll definitely be teaching me how to wrestle my z round the track!!! keep it up
-
Sorry Spatt seems like you've stumbled on to quite a popular topic. Neil that wing is awesome and would be perfect but like Stevo said I just can't afford to stretch that far at the moment. Money is flying out of my Z account quicker than ever
-
Yes!! Let's get something going man
-
What width is the spoiler? I'd be interested in it too if dedman and hensh don't beat me to it :-P

Drifting will definitely help with the car control thing but you just have to remember that a lot of track day people don't tolerate drifting if you get bored just driving round lol Keep watching this man and I'll keep you posted on the weight -
Ok Thanks for the info. I might give them a call tomorrow to see what they recommend then. I'll keep you posted. If any one knows of any of these going cheap or if they have a bit of discount they wouldn't mind sharing that would be awesome
-
Haha love it but I'm not sure I'll be able to read the values on it as my wheel is spinning around lol Yeah they seem too. Even with Oct's help in getting one over here they're still more expensive than the other one I think all the sensors that I need will already be fitted to the engine and it can pull what it needs from the ECU if my understanding is correct. have a scan at the link which is to the manufaacturers site and see what you think. If I've completely overlooked something please let me know haha
-
Looks decent but that looks like it's working out more expensive than the Race Tech Dash. Unless someone can import it
-
Hi Guys, I know it's a long shot but do any of you guys know where I can get a cheaper one of these please? http://www.race-technology.com/dash2_2_31.html Any help would be great Cheers Bizz

There are quite a few kits with that awful rear. One of stevo's showed it quite nice but that's only cos you couldn't see the awful step lol. The v3 front bumper looks really nice though

Thanks man. The car will be used for track days and stuff too (never actually ever done a track day) but without a doubt drifting is where its going to find its home I'm hoping it will be done in the early part of next year so I can get practicing and developing again. Think it's going to be quite a hand full at the start until I get used to it To be honest I'm not sure of the weight at the moment but I will weight it when I take it back to my parents in Norfolk because we have a weigh bridge there. I reckon it will be a little bit lighter than standard cos the seats weigh a ton but I've put some weight back in the cage. At the moment its anyone's guess -
Got back to my car to find this... part two! :@
