Just did a little bit more polishing today. Petrol cap needed a polish. Before and after a Dremel and polishing wheel session in the shed.

Agreed. I wouldn't want to be responsible for making a product that could result in a major car accident or death. The fixing has to be bullet proof. Good luck with the project though.

The rear one was fabricated in metal a number of years ago by a member called Grundy who ran off with everyones money.. Obvious to say but the fixing of these is key. Can you imagine a rear louvre flying off at 70 mph. Weight is your other challenge as do people really want to add that much weight on their z ??. Rear visibility is not great on these cars so personally I would not want to make it worse than it already is. The side louvres are obviously easier. I had them ones on my Nismo which I liked.. You will also have to register on her as a member trader before you can sell them to this group. Good luck with the venture, nice to see a member fabricating something for the other members to enjoy too. .

Welcome. Buying cars can be impulsive. These cars need looking after so I hope you haven't brought the first car you have seen with your heart and not your head. Just feels like this is a rushed purchase but I could be wrong. Either way I hope you have found a well cared for example and you enjoy the ride. This forum will be priceless to your ownership.

If it were me (it isn't) I would be spending the money on a used R35 rather than sink cash into one of these. I personally don't like it. Looks too rounded at the back (too much like a Jag/Aston) and they are trying to use some of the old 240z lines on the rear quarter with the round badge as well which for me just doesn't work. Having owned a mark two Nismo myself I would say the current Nismo is better looking. Only my opinion though of course. For me its lost its identity from all the other cars out there which Is a shame. Currently IMHO there is no other car that compares in looks to the 350/370 but this car doesn't look stand out to me.

The Fed Ex man rocked up today with my long awaited parcel from the US of A. My new UK spec Datsun 510 wiring loom. Time to rip out the old and rewire her,

The shorts can be changed but those legs cant be swapped out.

We are fast approaching the point at which we close the book on 2020, a year that we never anticipated would happen and one we hope we never have to endure again. I just wanted to say HAPPY CHRISTMAS to all my friends on here and those I have yet to meet but all make this community special. I look forward to being able to arrange events and meets next year again when we can all get together, share and appreciate each others cars and have some laughs. Martin
