  1. Mitz owner of Cougar Store (aided by wife Nita) Andy....Their trusted technician/mechanic. All Top people ;-)
  2. Thanks for sharing...I was quite skeptical about this style of DRL but they don't look so bad at all!
  3. Thanks for the reply Mark. I'll be watching this thread like a hawk in order to see where the tuners are to be located up North. I am a definite for having my Zed uprevved & would certainly much rather that you were involved in this Mark so please do keep me in the loop mate. Cheers Mark
  4. Mark.....What is the latest on the two assosiciates you mentioned, that could action a full uprev facility. I'm over in North Cumbria & so driving my 370GT with Milltek non resonated to your good selves (on the M25) would mean some BIG miles added to my low milage Zed :-( Secondly do your chosen satellite associates have the experience & kit in order to do an identically thorough job to yourselves down @ Abbey?? Cheers Marco
  5. Thanks for your input Maccy D. It all helps mate.
  6. Had a look at previous posts Re options for 370z FRONT DRL's but info seems quite scant! I saw these by Greddy that looked ok >> http://www.funkypower.co.uk/catalogue.php?make=NISSAN&model=370Z&year=2009%2B&level1=EXTERIOR+STYLING&level2=BULBS&level3=LED+LIGHTING+KITS&id_product=5980 Interested to hear opinions & any other recommendations (& links to them) you may have please? Ciao Marco
  7. I have this fitted to the front of my 370. Looks really good but i think i'm going to remove it again & spray the actual Z itself n some kind of black or perhaps black pearlescent finish, then re laquer. Reckon it would look even better with the Z picked out in a contrasting colour. After all the 'Nissan' on the stock burger badge is highlighted in black!! Subtle things make a difference
  8. I think you are absolutely right on this Ekona. Kath Burrows (Porsche Indie Wigan) told me about this when i stopped off to see her during my Cumbria>>Surrey trip to pick up my Zed. Lots of engines & gearboxes lying around & nerarly all off 987's 997.1s!! By the way....Does the name Kath Burrows Porsche independant sound familiar??.....She was the woman that knocked Bradley Wiggins off his bike a few months ago. All over the papers! Marco
  9. I'll try to keep this as brief as possible. Everything written below is from my own experience. You may or may not agree with what i say...Personal preference & all that!! There were many things to admire my Cayman S. Top of the list was the sublime handling of the perfectly balanced mid engined flat 6. However my reasons for moving on were>>>>>>> 1) My 2006 Cayman S (low miles) was showing signs of G/box input shaft bearing wear. This hastened our parting back in May 2012. Input shaft problems are suprisingly common on the Gen1 Boxters and Caymans. Not an issue on the Gen 2 versions i understand. 2) As time passed i fell out of favour with the aesthetic shape of the 'flat topped' rears wings. When viewed just the front/side angle there was something not quite right about that particular panel shape Imho! 3) Wasn't quite fast enough!! Despite the intoxicating roar from the stock exhaust on acceleration, i always somehow felt like there was somthing lacking. Should have been more power/torque but remember Porsche tamed the Cayman somewhat so that it didn't steal any thunder of they're entry level 911. 4) The standard 370GT i bought with 1 owner, FNSH, 9500k was too good to look past under the circumstances. 5) My Zed now......Lowered, Spaced, Milltek exhaust, Nismo S-tune rear wing, + some other tasteful mods inc cherished plate, just looks sooooo damn good in every way. If your into making heads turn with performance that betters the Cayman S (gen1 at least) the above combo blows the Porsche right out of the water Couldn't care less about the prestige of the badge either! Could give lots more info but i think you get the idea Marco
  10. Not a bad result all in all Slick. I would have satisfied with that too mate...its a hell of a lot less painful than it could have been!
  11. I went from a Cayman S to a 370z (May 12)
  12. Add the new Milltek to that list too. I have tried the resonated & non-resonated set up. I've settled on the Non resonated option for the moment & i can tell you she sounds sexual!!
  13. Yes i believe so Will. Also certain GTR's but there has been a recall on those (unlike the 370!!)
  14. 30MPG on a motorway run & down to 18ish shunting around the town or city (97Ron always). These are the figures that i have obtained in the 6months i've had my Non Uprevd GT. As some will know i am located in North Cumbria. Where is the nearest experienced Uprev facility to me? Obviously i'd prefer not to have to travel down to the London area if can avoid doing so?? Marco
  15. To summerise so far we have..... 1. The G Man, MY10 (60 plate), Dec 2012, Parks of Hamilton, fixed under warranty. 2. TheMacDaddy, MY10 (10 plate), Autumn 2010, Marshalls Cambridge, fixed under warranty 3 Marconorth, Dec09 (59 plate 10.5miles), Dec 2012, Benfield Nissan Carlisle, fixed under warranty (just before warranty expiry) 4 Nissanman312 (60 plate 7500miles), Colliers Nisssan Birmingham, being done under warranty. On back order (1month wait!) THERE MUST BE OTHERS ???????
  16. I felt sure it'd be the lock assy  Pleased that its all diognoised now & good luck with negotiations Re costs. I have found Benfield (nissan) in Carlisle to be exceptionally good & it is sounding like the Newcastle branch is equally as helpful. Good luck.
  17. 1. The G Man, MY10 (60 plate), Dec 2012, Parks of Hamilton, fixed under warranty. 2. TheMacDaddy, MY10 (10 plate), Autumn 2010, Marshalls Cambridge, fixed under warranty 3 Marconorth, Dec09 (59 plate 10.5K), Dec 2012, Benfield Carlisle, fixed under warranty ( a matter of days before expiry) Dealer had to first be given 'approval' for the repair by Nissan HQ. Repair duely granted but had to rely on a courtesy car for three weeks due to the assembly being on back order. Benfield Nissan, Carlisle......consistently good :-)
  18. I'm sorry mate but it is virtually gaurenteed to be failure of the electronic steering lock assembly. EXTREMELY common with 2009 Zeds especially. Happened to mine just before Xmas (with 10,500 miles on the clock!!) They are crying out for a recall on this over in America but up to press Nissan are failing to yeild on this now common issue. Luckily mine went with 7 days of the manufacturers warrentee remaining! Even if it had beeen just out of cover i still think my local main dealer would have pulled out all the stops for me as i have a excellant relationship with the whole team there. They even told me that if anything nasty ever happened out of warentee they would still do a very fair 'deal' with me. Always conforting to know :-) See this thread http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/61751-key-warning-light-on/ If i can help further give me a shout Marco Another useful thread from the US Forum http://www.the370z.com/nissan-370z-warranty-scheduled-maintenance-servicing-repairs/12294-intelligent-key-system-warning-light.html
  19. Me & my big mouth!!.......The above fear came home to roost last night & i had to be flat bedded to my local dealership by the AA. Good news is Nissan have agreed to replace it under the remaining warrenty & also provide me with a courtesey car. If the part takes a while to arrive then i won't be without wheels over Christmas/N year
  20. I'm having this same problem with my 2009 370z ie Intermittant illumination of the Amber I-key light. First thing i did was change to the CR2032 cells on BOTH my fobs but it made absolutely no difference. Been doing a bit of reading on the Amercan forums & it seems these electronic steering lock problems are becoming very common with the 2009 versions. It is giving so much trouble over there that they a crying out for a recall! I have been lucky in that my 370 starts/drives completely normally but In many cases the steering lock mechanism is completely immobilised (flat bed tow job!) Best case scenario is that it is just the solonoid that has failed but in my case the diognostics flagged up a failure (or pending failure) of the complete assembly .... i can tell you this is not a cheap componant!! My 2009 is still JUST within warranty. Local dealership (which i have been very impressed with over the 6 months i've owned my Zed) has to first have the repair approved by Nissan. Fingers crossed all will be well & they'll give the go ahead for the replacement. Final note. Since Nissan cleared the codes two days ago the Intelligant key light has not re-illuminated again. Perhaps it was just some kind of circuitry glitch?? Not convinced.....Personally i still think the issue is there...lets see how it goes! Marco
  21. I've used this Greased Lightening my previous car (Porsche Cayman) & if your car is relativly clean to start off with it will do a very impressive quick job. However the particular type of Canuaba wax contained within must be of very soft compound because the finish really does not last for long. A few heavy rain showers will break that 'showroom shine' down quickly! If your car is filthy i'd advise you NOT to use the stuff. The claim is it encapsulates each tiny grain of dirt with its unique blend of emulsifyers so that there will be no capiliary scratches left on the bodywork blah blah blah.....All marketing spiele, dont fall for it!!
  22. +1 but different exhaust set up, also makes you sound very professional . I've tried taking it off on the odd occasion and I felt as though I couldn't drive properly. I've had it on since day 1 so have no idea what the consumption difference might be Yes i guess it does make you sound kindda professional. Heel/toeing it as i drive through the small town where i live!
  23. PS Re Milltek Exhaust...I just changed from non resonated to resonated. Makes all the difference :-)
  24. Is it generally thought the GT (& upwards) Synchro Rev feature is a help or hinderance to the fuel consumed? My hunch is that it will reduce drivetrain shock/wear, but all the blipping on the downshift must use more fuel surely!? PS I drive with Synchro Rev enabled at all times. I love to hear the revs & box matching speeds through my Milltek zaust
