  1. I would just like the government to do two road safety campaigns this year: 1) Indicators aren't optional 2) Sidelights: not just there so that you have to turn a switch twice
  2. As Ekona said, keep an eye on your consumption, keep a log and see where you are at. You may have many years of trouble free motoring or you may need a bit of work doing. Either way you need to garner the data first. The key thing is to make sure it doesn't run out of oil.
  3. I really like this.....must stop flicking through 370z listings... I think you are allowed the badges seeing as you already have reference on the number plate.
  4. I agree, it just means they can call the excessive consumption as a 'characteristic' as opposed to a fault. I remember an Alfa 156 company car we can that was a drinker. It never let us down, just had to keep on top of it.
  5. Just think about it that you are giving your car an oil change on a more regular basis. You will be doing an oil change every 5000 miles. Mine can also be on the thirstier side of things, especially when I'm just doing my comute to work (sub 4 mile). Doing longer tours of the country yield lower consumption. I just keep an eye on it by tracking my oil top ups using the trip computer odometer. Am I right in thinking that the 1l per 1000 miles was classed as within tolerance from Nissan? Or am I making that up form a beer ravaged memory?
  6. I was so glad you were nowhere near mine...you'd have taken photos and shamed me on here with how filthy it was. I may even get my machine polisher on it on a regular basis now that I can trust that the rear arches wont fall off. Next is tints and roof wrap... ...and to install my stereo.... ...maybe an alloy refurb... ...and the list goes on...
  7. Stage 2 complete So all back in my possession again! So I gave it back to Andy at Parkside Autos to get some work that needed doing to the car....tidying up of the rear and a repair to one of my skirts. Firstly to get rid of the rust I had generating on the rear arches...Plenty of new metal and treatment extras (3) by p_h_7, on Flickr extras (4) by p_h_7, on Flickr extras (2) by p_h_7, on Flickr Then we have the de-badging and spoiler removal, which means holes to fill and new holes to drill extras (6) by p_h_7, on Flickr Naked rear end...always looks terrible extras (5) by p_h_7, on Flickr But better after some prep extras (9) by p_h_7, on Flickr extras (10) by p_h_7, on Flickr extras (8) by p_h_7, on Flickr Finally getting my nismo spats on! Yay! finished (7) by p_h_7, on Flickr finished (8) by p_h_7, on Flickr finished (9) by p_h_7, on Flickr Please excuse my winter wheels/tyres they will be off tonight now that I have new rubber on my rays. I'm truly thrilled with it all. Finally got the rear how I wanted it with the more angular lights/spats and spoiler combo. I will have to do a before and after like I did for the front
  8. Looking good. I may also have a trip to MIJ coming up this year, good to hear they did a good job
  9. I lost a 'z' recently from my centre cap on the front left...must order some more. Looking great so far and looking forward to watching your car change.
  10. So stage 1 is complete, Had to return the hire car today....boooo. so a couple of piccies of the car getting a nose job Nicolas "face off" Cage moment ready for the new bumper. Salvaged my grille and my reflectors from the old one but sadly that was all. So same plan as before, get the nissan badge area filled in and drop in the grille. DSCF4010 by p_h_7, on Flickr Bumper second spray. Andy had done the 1st spray and fitted but wasn't happy with the colour match as it was a shade out. So off it came again and was prepped for more. All credit to him that he got new paint in and gave it another going over! Is it wrong that I love the matte effect of base coat? DSCF4025 by p_h_7, on Flickr All new but the same. So nice to see a bumper with fresh paint on. Don't really know why I took a photo of it as in essence it is the same as before...but that is exactly what you want from a bodyshop bump fixed by p_h_7, on Flickr Now onto Phase two. Andy now has the car again to do some work for me while I am away for my anniversary. I'll keep you posted.
  11. Now on channel 5: Whatever happened to....ph7 Well I'm glad you asked. Not much, work work work work work..ad infinitum but I do have an update. While I was working out in Germany one of my colleagues managed to tag my car on the car park, but he called me to tell me and was great to deal with. It did a decent amount of damage to the car.. Damage to bumper, brackets, headlight, undertray etc... photos actually don't do it justice bump by p_h_7, on Flickr bump by p_h_7, on Flickr bump by p_h_7, on Flickr bump by p_h_7, on Flickr His car bump by p_h_7, on Flickr The good news is that Adrian Flux have been brilliant and have sorted me out to the highest order and I've been given a really good hire car from the sweet people at Accident Exchange. 12923110_10153575219169021_2115006249240935213_n by p_h_7, on Flickr It has been fun to try...with the s tronic gearbox it does fly. So she is in for repair with Andy at Parkside Autos in Wednesbury and should be home soon. I will then be getting some more work done
  12. have you hit 200.000k yet ??? Slow answer and hi to everyone as it has been a while since I've been on. Not yet is the answer...getting close as i'm at 197000 now. Not being at as many meets has reduced the mileage down a bit...but I'll get there.
  13. So so sad to hear this terrible news. Our thoughts are with his family. Thoroughly top bloke and we will remember our times with him in the lakez fondly.
  14. Worth going just for that. Would be great as a meet night!
  15. I felt the same about aftermarket as well, until I had them on the car. The thing I'm looking forward to is once the spats are on and the spoiler is fitted then the car will be much more angular and suit the lights even more. Really pleased with how the spoiler marries up with the new lines of the lights. The clutch going put paid to my spray fund though. For the moment at least.
  16. And you can pick up a lot of oil as you drag it in and out due to the wonderful design, which can skew your thoughts
  17. Tracy loves the ornamental tyre/alloy pile in the corner of the garden as much as she loves the highly decorative front bumpers and sideskirts art installation. Anything to separate them like cardboard will do the job
  18. Well it is probably about time I updated the thread, not a great deal has changed and I have been working (and socialising) like an idiot for about 9 months which has killed some of my spare time. So in July I claimed my P3 service raffle item from Walez and went to Atkin Motor Engineers and enjoyed a couple of days in the north Yorkshire moors. Staying at the kp in Pocklington just south of Atkin Motor Engineers, would recommend. http://www.kpclub.co.uk/ IMG_8690 by p_h_7, on Flickr IMG_8689 by p_h_7, on Flickr IMG_8707 by p_h_7, on Flickr IMG_8708 by p_h_7, on Flickr Couple of piccys of their car park at night kp yorkshire by p_h_7, on Flickr kp yorkshire by p_h_7, on Flickr kp yorkshire by p_h_7, on Flickr Plenty more of those on my flickr page, I must say that I didn't know about the car park lighting until after the meal...I was quick to move the car. When we arrived the following morning, the courtesy car we received by Chris and the team was great and was perfect for the trip into Whitby. The engine was superb for such a tiny cc. The fish and chips from the magpie were equally stunning. IMG_8758 IMG_8757 Honestly I can whole heartedly recommend Atkin Motor Engineers, the service they provided was stunning, including telling me of some future issues for the car in hand video. So I had to replace a lower track control arm as the bush was knackered and a sidelight bulb before MOT but that was all. More to follow later...
  19. It has been a very sad week so far, one of the victims was a colleague of mine. You never think that it will happen to anyone you know.
