    The 200k Club!

I had them fail quite close together, something like 185k and 192k. You never know if me adding spacers to the car had an adverse effect. Or that I swap between summer and winter wheels. But no problems since replacement.
  2. do i remember rightly in someone saying that you can just dab it with a sharpie pen to do a good cover up??? my memory doesn't always work though!
  3. So I broke my nuts.... My OEM boot divider was removed so i could carry a larger item. Problem was, i left my brackets attached to the strut. Cue my item hitting them and breaking both captive nuts hidden in the strut. The divider is fine, brackets, fixings all good...i just can't screw them into anything! Expect it on sale shortly. So I knew that one of Ian's push fit solutions would be my best long term fix, and fortunately SUPRAWOOKIE came to the rescue as he was selling one. It arrived last Friday and last night I got to fitting it and the obligatory fitting shots I then went about removing my boot weight...something i've been meaning to do since I had my spoiler fitted. No photos as it was already dark but i'm sure you all know what that looks like! The good news is that my boot pops with one press again and my boot doesn't try to eat me after i let go. I'm determined to get my head unit inststalled next as her 200K bday present....did I mention that much yet??? I am going to do a big for sale thread soon. All of the items in the very first post will be up for grabs

    The 200k Club!

Back in 2012 I made the following post originally here http://www.350z-uk.c...ine-power-test/ The autocar test is a nice an easy way to test as you take wheelspin out of the equation for the most part and is (fairly) safe to do on a straight road without taking your eyes off the road and you don't have to change gear

Issues have been relatively minor for me. Couple of wheel bearings replacements but nothing you would claim of being as high mileage related. Just normal wear. My drivers seat is probably the biggest giveaway Of course there is an increase of oil consumption and so I have increased viscosity to compensate for it a little after a recommendation from Opie Oils. I would say my consumption is around 1l pe thousand miles. The I like to think of it as that i'm always running clean oil! As they always say, you can never over maintain a car. With regards to performance, I have never had a problem keeping up with other zeds at the meets. I still can do an in gear 4th test of 20 mph intervals in 4.4 seconds. No idea what that would relate to in terms of horses lost. If anyone wants to give me free dyno time to find out, shout out!

The good news is that now I can stop watching the mileage as I drive. The West Midlands will be safer now
  7. Spotted on the way towards J9 coming out of a side street, he caught up with me by the time we got to the Broadway. We overtook a ( unbelievably slow) car together before a wave and goodbye

  9. Last night as I reversed onto my drive, she ticked over Happy 200kday to my Zed...i will buy her a cake and possibly give her good wash to celebrate What a car...
  10. Didn't know there was an OEM one...? Quite rare and quite rubbish! I will sell it shortly as the divider itself isn't broken. I had it out of the car so that I could transport a larger item. problem was I left the bolt and bracket that it connects with into the captive nut, my item hit that and snapped the captive nut somewhere into my rear strut! So all the fixings and brackets are intact, it is my car that is broken. So i knew at that point a push fit solution would be my only option as the concept of stripping my rear strut and welding a nut backinto place really wasn't going to be worth the effort. Plus I knew how good Ian's dividers are when I saw the first ones he was making for himself.
  11. I'll take it off you...just broken my original nissan one.
  12. Wow some of the shots here are amazing. We decided to get a new camera for our trip to Silverstone F1, nothing too fancy but a Panasonic DMC-FZ72 and i'm still getting used to it. I'm not really up to speed with full editing of photos yet. Simple photoshopping I can do but really editing photos to make them better is something I need to do a lot more reading up on. Here are a couple of shots i've taken that i'm fond of, Red Arrows at Silverstone and some Lake District. I'm not at your guys standard but hope to improve with time. All hand held, as I'd forgotten my tripod, doh!
  13. The trick is having the correct rear end to suit them. I have the other variant of Depo lights, mine are angular, which is why i paired them up with a wider wing and the spats to keep the look consistent, (shameless photo moment). For the curvy, rounded lights then i think a different approach is needed, you would want a softer rear end to make it look right perhaps like this pink beast if you then took the stock spoiler off to make it a proper bubble butt finished (9) by p_h_7, on Flickr P1020386 by p_h_7, on Flickr
  14. scared me to death when it happened....though I had a massive engine failure. I drove to a restaurant in daylight - no issues, then the drama started on the return drive home at night. took me a day to figure
  15. ditto on rear lights..i had a short there when putting mine in...exactly same issue I could detect it by turning my lights off....engine back to normal then instantly...damn the dark nights
  16. Just spotted this on the segment about the Smart motorways...a simulation. Something tells me that someone has been racing on their simulator! spotted a zed by p_h_7, on Flickr
  17. I hope so, so far not ended in a ditch yet! But yes, they feel good so far and it isn't like they are a budget tyre. I'll be interested in grip and wear rate as they age
  18. what's this...2 posts in 1 night! Well yes, I have also had my tints and roof wrapped ... yay! A fellow golfer at my club put me touch with two local Darlaston lads who had done his work for him. A few phone calls later and two appointments were set So first of all I popped down to Matthew Brumwell's lockup for a little tinting application. He did a tremendous job on the car, if anyone needs anything doing in this way Prep prep prep and an epic concentration face P1020373 by p_h_7, on Flickr After freehand scalple work it was time to peel, lift and get it onto the glass P1020375 by p_h_7, on Flickr The only way to reach the window is to take a seat P1020378 by p_h_7, on Flickr Rear glass done P1020381 by p_h_7, on Flickr Onto the rears P1020386 by p_h_7, on Flickr After that I travelled to Lukes Wraps who could squeeze me some time on his drive way. First off was to clean all of the rubbish off my roof...which was considerable. Untitled by p_h_7, on Flickr Luke waxed it to death to get rid of tree sap i had stuck to the roof and worked his magic while I had a pint...tough work! Untitled by p_h_7, on Flickr But then hey presto, one wrapped roof! 19. So, the obligatory shots I mentioned First off...Popcharger P1020371 by p_h_7, on Flickr As always, the honest look of a near 200k engine bay! P1020372 by p_h_7, on Flickr And my new Knob, feels great in the hand! P1020369 by p_h_7, on Flickr Now onto some other items. I needed two new front tyres and so I have gone for a different tyre than I normally would Avon ZZ5 tyres, I must say I was surprised to find the sidewall pattern...kinda suits the car and was unexpected I'll let you know how I find them but after 300-400 miles on them I can say the they are holding up very well for grip. I will need the rear Potenzas swapping soon so will have a matching across the car which will give me a clearer idea. P1020368 by p_h_7, on Flickr
  20. My wife and I will be there. Just deciding on whether or not to book the hotel as we are only 1 hr away. although...if i stay...I can drink ...and If i can drink then people can buy me a birthday drink for the 19th How many are going??? I may need to book more than 1 night to sober up!
  21. Well I now have a JWT popcharger installed and my new Tomei Duracon gearknob (both thanks to PaulJames90) . Does mean I will have my neo chrome for sale shortly I think.
