1. Top man, nice one, you just saved the life of my Mac.
2. So, yeah, where I used to just paste the link code straight in and they'd show up now , they just show as link shortcuts. I even tried doing it the old way and wrapping them in tags but nothing works .
3. Not really dude, no. Last week was a pretty cool day, not once did I have to come in due to oil temps, tyres went off after about 7/8 laps, so it was that that was stopping me really. That said, I always tend to come in after about 10/15 minutes just to rest up. Larger tracks, like Spa or Bedford I tend to do 3/4 laps and come in for a bit. It's all about managing the oil temperature on the 370, keeping the revs low and not just shifting down for the sake of it. Notice how I don't get into 2nd at all at Brands, that keeps the temps down considerably. I used to take Druids and Hill in 2nd but keeping it in 3rd is not only quicker but it keeps the car more stable and cooler for longer. I could just fit an oil cooler but I'm not racing, or really looking to build a track car so I don't see the point. I can still press on, have fun and get what I want from it without. Besides, it would probably only mean I could stay out a little longer as the tyres would go off or my brakes would cook. Well, now that I have good intakes and exhaust I think I will. Throttle response picked up no end with the Stillens and an UpRev would do wonders across lots of areas, so yeah, I will eventually. I'm getting married next year though and have to pay for cakes, flowers and @*!# like that, so where I can still manage the odd track day here and there - mods will have to take a step back for a while.
4. So I did a track day at Brands Hatch yesterday, was good, even though it was just full of race cars or driver experience days in MG's and MX5's. Seriously, I think it was only myself and my mate that had road cars . Track etiquette was awful. No moving over, no lifting when being passed, overtaking on bends - REALLY pi**ed me off but I didn't let it bother me and had a good session testing myself and the car. Caterham's were rapid as were the Ginetta's. Red flags on every session, which again was frustrating but not the end of the world as they were only for slight off's and were cleared very quickly. I managed to get a few laps in with the GoPro on the rear mount, with the mic - really highlights where I'm lifting or coasting though . Also, the brakes are much better than I keep expecting, I really much rely on them more to stop me as they can. Car was faultless, again got hot a few times but that was my ticket to go have a break anyway. Probably going to do the GP sessions in August too. At the end of this video the Clio in front of me slides at Druids, catches it, then spins off at Hill, red flags come out - so queue the MX5 going all out attack and overtaking - like I said, worst track etiquette I've experienced, everyone was RACING with no care for the road cars or the slower guys on the experience days. Still had a good day though .
5. Not really, hard to tell. Like I said, I can't hear much over the ARK. It's there - obviously, just not as noticeable as i was expecting.
6. Well, I was spinning out messing with the bumper and those impact sensors. Last thing I wanted was to tug or bang one and set the damn thing off. It was a OTT precaution really but one that made me feel more comfortable doing the job.
7. So on Saturday, in between rain showers and organising a night out I set about installing my Stillen Gen 3 intakes with a mate. This was the first real time I’ve picked up a spanner (myself) in mood with the car, so was a test of what working on the Nissan would be like. Turns out it was an absolute pleasure. Everything was still brand new, or felt, looked like and came out like brand new anyway. Not a thing broke, snapped or was rusted/seized. Everything went back as should too. Considering it’s a 5 year old car with 32’000 miles on it, I was impressed. The only thing that showed any sign of age was the single 10mm bolt in the wheel arch behind the liner. Even the under tray bolts were still shiny silver. Hardest part of the Stillen install really was the cutting of the headlight OEM filter gates, to which we just used a Dremel with a set of pliers to cut and rip out the plastic needed for a better fit. Hardest part of working on the car was the myriad of cables, wires and hoses attached to the inside of the front bumper. This was a pain. With the headlight washer jets, bonnet safety release sensors and other stuff meant that taking the bumper completely off was just as much of a job than the actual install. So we just left the bumper hanging (but supported by itself) enough to fit the filters but not have to detach everything. Biggest annoyance of the final result, having to re-programme everything back in again like the stereo settings, windows, clock and other personal settings as the battery was disconnected. Must have taken about 3.5 hours I reckon of constant working, if we did the same thing again it would take 2.5 hours I reckon. Having moved on from messing with Honda’s it was great fun to get stuck into a car again, both me and mate agreed. Overall result – It sounds a bit better under full throttle and I think (could be a placebo) that throttle response has sharpened up a bit. If I didn't have the ARK installed also, I'm sure I'd be waxing lyrical about the sound that the filters make but it's hard to pick out over the bark of of the ARK. Apart from that though, I’m now ready for an uprev when the time comes. I want an uprev for the midrange drivability benefit it will bring and the three map settings. I got the intakes so that I get the best out of the map once its mapped and installed. These are the intakes I wanted, so I'm pleased I got them and happy with result. Didn't bother taking any pictures really, as I was in full ‘LETS DO THIS MODE’ but my mate grabbed a few as we worked.
8. Bit of an update on this - So since I cleared the CEL on Saturday it's not come back, which is nice. I also bought the ODBII dongle that Sipar recommended and that arrived today. Plugged it in and after about 5 seconds all the car information was up, alas, as I had cleared the code there's no history on there about the issue but as it's not come back I'll put it down to a hiccup. The info that this thing displays on your phone is impressive mind, worth the £7 just to have nosey. It'll now live in the car as a handy piece of kit. 5* Stars - Would recommend.
9. Started it again this morning - light remains. Cleared the code with my feet - light went away. Drove to collect my dry cleaning. Collected dry cleaning. Drove home, parked car, started it a few more times - no light. So so far so good. I'm aware it could be a many number of things - I'm kind of hoping it was ignition hiccup or something, maybe down to the damp weather and low usage of the car. I'm also prepared to deal with it if it comes back. Probably with my £7 dongle and a trip to Kaizer or something. Got my Stillen Gen 3's to fit and a track day at Brands in a few weeks, so I damed if this is stopping me get out there.
10. Right, nice one guys. I've ordered a £7 wifi reader, which will be handy to own anyway I expect. I'm going to go now and attempt to clear the fault first, and see if it comes back. Then, if it does, my reader should be here shortly and I'll look into it deeper.
11. Awesome mate, unfortunately I'm in Essex though (J29) - really appreciate the offer though . Sweet. Maybe I'll clear it first and see if it comes back, then take it further. I'm assuming it's a couple of misfires or something, having occurred twice on two separate drives, then throwing up the light.
12. My car threw up a Engine light today as I started her up to pop to the shop, nothing seemed too untoward until I tried to pull away and the car felt very underpowered, looked at the dash and the engine light was on (solid). Car drove fine the day before. I turned it off, then started it fine again but the light stayed on. I pulled off and did a lap of the block, came home, light remains. Only mod is a ARK cat back. I wanted to check what it was by doing the pedal dance and reading off the code it throws up. Anyone know how to do that, if you can let me know, I'll be forever in your debt, lol. Car seems fine, dunno, bit of an odd one. I'll give it a go tomorrow once its light.

GoPro

My GoPro3 does this with my iPhone. Many a session has been saved by realising that the mount is spaz with the App preview option. Also lets you test audio and set the camera up to the exact quality setting you want (720i, 1080 etc....). In fact the App function really lets you use the camera to its full potential in the often limited time you have with it.
14. F-LOL at the size of the Kinect in comparison !!
15. Done it . So how dose the car look then:) Exactly the fcuking same unfortunately !! Ha Ha, well I did get it a Stillen Gen 3 intake on the weekend so there's some extra fizz in her gusset at least.
16. Good work man, I did mine last summer, very pleased with it. Not looked back since (bu bum tish- - !!!!!!! )
17. I get para if I put anything other than Shell Optimax-V-Power-Dog-6+NOS whatever it's called. There have been times I've had to put 95RON fuel in, when I do I put as much as I need to get to the next Shell garage. When we go to Europe, we carry a box of the RON top up bottles just in case. I'd go near a track with my 370 with a full tank of Shell Premium.

19. Lights look like a top job mate, very well done . I bet they look a million times better IRL.
20. I appreciate the mention guys. Got myself a Stillen intake for the 370 and Mrs got me a trackday at Spa .
21. I've gotta get back into that, loved platying that over Christmas. Loved it. It's just such a big stint game for me, if I turn it on, I've lost 4 hours straight away.
22. Currently playing; PES, Destiny(still) and RE - HD remake. Waiting for Evolve to come out as well as Project Cars.
