  1. Fingers crossed. I'm at Brands on the 19th March, I don't mind it a little damp but it would be nice if it was dry and crisp, nom nom..... I've been at Brands in August before now and had mist & fog, lol. Last summer it was too hot, like 32 degrees and my tyres were just melting after about 5/6 laps.

    370Z Nismo

Nothing to worry about, it has masses of clearance.
  3. Because you copied me ?? :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

    370Z Nismo

I've not scraped my ARK GRiP once on speed bumps or anything. Not sure how much lower the Nismo sits than an OEM car.

    370Z Nismo

+ 1 for keeping an old OEM system about, even if it is Nismo. Plus, if everyone who has Nismo's changing them, then I can't imagine they'll fetch what you want for it. Consider a ARK GRiP system, they sound great without HFC's - IMO
  6. Here we are fella, here is a piece from MSV's FAQ section regards cameras;

If you take out the CAT's your car will not pass the emissions test come MOT time. Unless you pay a garage off to get it through. HFC's are designed to get you through the MOT emissions test at the very minimum. I'd not bother changing them out unless you're after every single db and are chasing HP figures for the pub, it's not worth the hassle or cost in my opinion.
  8. Well, the general rule is that its up to the guys who run the track day to make the decision as to what they will let on track, for instance, some days its cool, some days its not and thats just how it is. Each track day organisation will have its own rules on fixing points and cameras. I have the genuine GoPro suction cup too, which I believe is rated up to about 150mph for external use, which is more than enough. For in car footage I use the suction cup, for external use I use a tow hook mount, which is very solid but again, I've been asked to remove it at Brands before now and been allowed to use it on different occasions. I have used the suction cup externally though on a few airfield days and its fine. Basically its down to the dude at the end of the pit lane .
  9. Well, the external mic itself only cost about £12 from Amazon, the adapter you HAVE to use, is from GoPro and is a micro USB to 3.5mm audio jack, that was £20. I did try and use a cheap £3 Amazon special but it turns out that you have to use the GoPro one as it has a little resistor in it that actives the microphone override on the camera itself.
  10. I taped it to the rear tow eye cover, just above the rear fog light, seems alright there to be fair.
  11. Yeah, you get the feeling that GT would punish you for sliding about and Forza would reward you with a smile, even if you end up 5 tenths down on a lap, you were having fun. Another example in the gaming world regards driving games, is Micro Machines, the handling was so bad it was amazing, which made for an excellent driving game. It's all about finding that balance that fits into the game world that you're trying to create.
  12. I played it twice, once on a 4K PC with a full Fanatec rig, which was Silverstone, in DTM's, which was very very hard. Super aggressive AI, full weather and a daylight cycle. Didn't really enjoy that much as it was so hard. The second was on a Xbox One development console, with a pad, which was at Dubai Autodrome IIRC (definitely wasn't Abu Dhabi), which was in a LM1 car, might ave been an Audi. That was awesome. you could feel the area working in a way I've never felt before and it looked just as good as the 4K did anyway - obviously isn't as good if you're splitting hairs but there is only so much my eyes can observe at 60FPS. I played both at Eurogamer in September, so those would have still been development code I suspect, either way I'll be getting it as it's a very good driving game, it just felt like it lacked a bit of soul but again, its hard to call after only playing it twice in effect but you get a sense of what the game will be like. Did you ever pay Race Pro ?? That was a great driving game but again, it lacked soul compared to Forza. I kind of thing Project Cars will be like that. Sometimes perfect simulation isn't always the most rewarding.
  13. I've played PCars and it looks amazing, feels great too - my only concern is that its so realistic, its a little dull.
  14. Yeah man, I set it lower so that when I'm on track it catches my eye earlier and lets me know I have a bit longer before I need to shift. It's a preference thing .
  15. Finally got around to buying the GoPro external mic attachment so I can use my external mic now to get a better sound. It arrived yesterday so I thought i'd give it a whirl today very quickly just to see whats what. Ultimately I want to be able to run the mic from the front tow eye mount I have from the camera, all the way to the rear of the car above the fog light in the centre of the bumper. The extra long lead I have should make this possible. It was pretty greasy out today so wasn't able to get as much down as I'd have liked to see where the mic works best but you get the idea from the little clips. Got a track day at Brands next month, so will work out what works best before then and hopefully get some proper sound to match the footage . And before anyone starts ripping their dick off - This was at my mates, parents goat farm, which has a private road .
  16. Looks smart man . Those driver and passenger tints look dark, what percentage are they ??
  17. Yes. They were some of the set ups I was looking at, not sure if it was the V3's but I'd certainly enetertain that version as they're the top end IIRC.
  18. Used to work for me when I was 15 .
  19. Damn !!! If it falls though I'm here waiting too .
  20. Perfectly timed thread. I'm getting new tyres and a service done this month, ready for some spring track action and was seriously considering getting some spacers for the 370. Where as (in my eyes) it undoubtedly improves the asthetics of the car, I'm more interested in how the car feels under load and how it feels when it approaches the edge. Out of the box the 370 feels good to me, solid and confidnace inspiring, altering that for an unknown result would be a shame. Wideneing the track on my previous cars (Honda's) has usually resulted in a better drive, like you say, strange how it differs from car to car. Might be the weight in that instance. Anyway, good thread, good input in here .
  21. Options on quality branded, used coilovers for the 370Z would be great. I've been considering buying new, so if a good set of used came up I'd not be put off at all.
  22. Cool man, I'm down there on there on the 24th .
  23. Mark@Abbey, Thanks fella, appreciate the contact, however I'm all booked in now at Kaizer Motors now. Thanks.
