  1. After much deliberation and saving I have finally got my 370Z. I knew what I wanted and waited until the perfect one was availabel, Le Mans Blue and GT was a must. I've moved from owning two Honda's in the last 6 years. Plans are to track the car as often as I can and just enjoy ownership of what feels like a better, more expensive grown up toy. Use will be kept to a minimum mainly due to the fact that I use the train to get to work, so it will simply be used as a weekend blast and for track. Already booked to go to Spa and the Nurburgring on the 14th June . Old EP3 Old S2000 And I don't want to insult anyone by boring you with loads of OEM 370Z pics, but you'll get the idea from these...
  2. Oh, I've got pics . Went to Brands Hatch yesterday for the DTM, then the football, so I've been a little sidetracked, lol. Done about 300 miles since Friday, lol.
  3. Where ? I check the FS section on a regular basis. lol I'm an idiot. Very nice, but has to be Blue or Red.
  4. No, you're right, it's a ridiculous cycle to be in, something I'm not proud about. I'm only doing myself one way or another. Indeed, I don't need a new toy though and this is what it will be, a toy. I already have a car and travel using the train/tube for work. Therefore it's harder for me to be that rational about it. I'll still get one though.
  5. The used Market has seen about £3000 come off the £20'000 - £23'000 priced cars in the last 6 months, so a £20'000 is now £17'000. I'm very keen to buy but can'y help but keep procrastinating as the price falls. It's very annoying but pointlessly rewarding at the same time.
  6. Bit of a silly comment I suppose but if lived in Dubai (I have a few friends and family that do) I'd have something much larger. One of my mates just bought a GTR out there. It's something like £15 to fill it. For what it's worth, yes that's a good price for a car that you can't currently get in the UK.

    That's quite reasonable then .

    Tyres

No, I've not, I've not even driven one at all yet, I have a test drive booked next week, not sure what you mean by that . On the S2000 Honda put 40's on the rear and 45's on the front, but besides the fact that the figure is worked out from a percentage of the tyre width anyway so it's not a clear indication of tyre wall size, the front walls are taller. Some say that it gives a better warning of understeer and that having more flex in the fronts gives you a more progressive feel, like you say, other than just letting go. I'd tend to agree. What's the weight distribution in a 370Z ??

I had a quick look on Black Circles and the RE050's (275/35/19) are coming up at £289.73, so you didn't do that bad really . Asuming it was worst case and it was a rear you did that is.

I preferred 40's also on my old car (S2000) anything bigger was too squishy and squirmy and anything lower would have killed my back and teeth, but felt awesome on track. Why, what's your concern about upsetting the handling or is it the ride that you're referring too ??
  11. From a NASP remap/re-flash I'd always be looking for more usable power and torque anyway, all in the midrange. Some people see it as a fail if you only make an extra 11hp at 7,200rpm, but they dont see the increase at say 4,000rpm, which is where it counts.

Yeah, that tyre sounds expensive, although it always will be if it's bought and fitted there and then . What spec and size is the Bridgestone ??
  13. Awesome man, cheers . £400 for a ref lash is good value, considering you don't have to have a aftermarket ECU, like an AEM. I'll take a look at Akrapovic then .
  14. Great looking in white there, that's the best I've seen a 370Z look in white. I even think the lighter OEM wheels look better than the darker ones. If thruth be told, I'm now considering white as colour. Tracking it is something I would definately try if I were you, or an airfield day, it will teach you levels of grip and how the weight shifts about, like what Screamer says above the slow corners. You'll come out of it a better driver and with a lot more appreciation of your car and what it is capable of. I'll be tracking mine, it will be my daily, but I will give it a good go on track my last car was the same (S2000) however, coilies and race headers can take a step back and it will just be enjoyed as is. At the end of the day this is how Nissan wanted to make the car so it covered all the bases they wanted to hit, be a shame not to give it a go on track.
  15. Keep your pops and bangs for your Rally reps and boost machines, big displacement just needs a deep burble. Reading back a few posts, someone said that the HFC's (or complete de-cat) give a better rasp at a certain points in the rev range. This is good sound, I'd expect you only, or rather more notice it, on lift off and wind down as opposed to WOT redlining. I bet HFC's are expensive on the 370's mind you.
  16. Pretty tame peak power increase figures, but that's to be expected, I'm sure they would be more if there were HFC's installed or even taken out. Tuning NA is an expensive business. However, we all know, peak power increases only tell the end of the story. What's the mid range gains like ?? I would asume more usable torque ?? Why have the 5 maps ?? Is there a reason, or is it just because it/you can ?? Seems a bit pointless, if you didn'ty lable the maps and I switched to random one, could you tell ?? I'd not even have two maps if truth be told, the increases I'd expect from this stage of tuning would be enough to alter the performance that significantly surely ?? Again, I don't know, I'm just researching these cars at the moment and am interested in what's working for people and what's not . Finally, what sort of cost's are we looking at here for a re-flash from Abbey Motorsport Cheers .
  17. Cheers guys. I can live with spacers for style, as long as they're not that large and start to effect the wheelbase too much. Likelyhood is that when the spacers go on, I'll do new tyres and geo in one hit. lol, I've not even got the car yet though.
  18. Sorry I'm new and curious, why the spacers ?? Is it just for asthetic reasons or are you running aftermarket alloys ???
