Indeed, ive had new struts a while as the boot kept falling down :S. But ive just replaced the springs with new ones from the caped one and its not helped at all. Old ones had foam filling them and that didn't do it either. May have to try and remove the weight and see.

This once happened to me too tbh. I was sat at the lights and this van was gunning for me, no problem I thought and I pull away and he keeps up...at this point im like "WTF". You see what happened was the awesome sound from the V6 made me think I was gunning it, actually I didn't have my foot all the way down...once I correct this said van was far behind me and I was rewarded by an even more awesome noise...I'd check you've got you're foot down properly...cool story bro

Weve got 6 groove black diamond discs and black diamond pads on the front supplied and fitted by CS, cant comment on track use but theyre noticeably better than the OEM setup that was on there without even touching the back set. Been v. happy with them.

How much did you pay for your zed/car negogiation advice
hawker1986 replied to Level 7 Boss's topic in 350Z General
In April we got our '05 UK GT in gunmetal with 31000 for £8.5k. Service history was a bit patchy but its in tidy shape. Probably we paid a bit over the ods for a private sale but it was just up the road and it had obviously been pampered so didn't argue too much about it, so long as you have you're eyes open you should get what you pay for. +1 for road trip app, its very useful, one of the few apps im grateful I spent money on. ATM were managing 27.6mpg over the last 4000 miles. This is mainly the Mrs doing Leicester to Kettering for her commute down the A6, which isnt bad I dont think in rush hour traffic. Hawker

Had this problem with ours when we first bought it, its common enough. Bought the uprated ones from SGS - problem fixed, work a treat 6 months later Hawker

Tonneau covers - cottage industry?

I4N sent me the template, built one myself, cant believe it sold for that, good for him Hawker -
Hi all, Had a bit of a mare, somehow we've managed to rip a hole through the leather in the bottom part (under your bum) of the drivers seat in the Zed. One inch all the way through and scratched for about another two. Can I replace just the bottom, or is this going to be a whole new seat. Or are there other options? Many thanks advice appreciated, Hawker

What happened to the mudflaps Hawker

Hi all, Just wanted to give Ian some official thanks, following his guide I was taken with the inspiration and have made my own tonneau cover as per the guide . Also he deserves much thanks for sending me the templates out of his own pocket. Heres a token crappy camera phone shot...I was too excited to get it in place to take pictures at the time :S. Many thanks Ian, really appreciate it. Hawker

Yeah turns out it was the tyre pressures, they were all down around 28, should really have checked them when I got it rather than trusting the AA man to know what he was doing. Back up to 35 and feeling tight again MDMetal I suggest you check that and see if thats the problem. Many thanks all for all the usual good advice Hawker
-
Hi, yeah wasnt a sudden change as far as ive noticed. Its only done 33000 miles :S. Ill check the tyre pressures tomorrow, hopefully its something as simple as that. Hawker

Hi all, Just a quick question. Weve noticed the steering on our Zed seems to have gotten a bit looser for lack of a better word. Just that it doesnt feel so hard to turn the wheel and when you're driving along when it hits a bump theres a bit more wobble fed back. Full lock seems to be about 2.5 turns which I presume is normal. Just wondering if its anything I should be getting looked at or possibly if its just because its getting more use. Only thing ive had done is 4 wheel alignment a month or so ago, which admittedly was all over the shop before it was sorted. Any idea or suggestions would be most welcome. Thanks Hawker

Well im not unrealistic about the situation I know I cant keep the thing pristine and use it at the same time. I was thinking I might just do a touch up run round and then have them machine polished to even out the finish. But equally ive never tried anything like that and dont know what sort of results ill end up with. Equally I could just do resprays but I always worry about colour matching with the resprays and that it might look completely wrong and worse than it was before - but again ive not got any experience of that either personally Hawker

Many thanks guys, Presumably I would need to get the chips that are already there sorted before applying the venture shield or else theyll still be visible under it anyway. In which case I think ill let it get worse before I do anything with it. Hawker

Hi all, I'm sure this topic has been done before to death but my search skills seem to be failing me. I was wondering what people are doing about stone chips in the front bumper? I've been out on a few runs and have noticed some more and want my zed to stay looking good. Advice much appreciated, Thanks Hawker

How badly did you want a 350 before you bought it?
hawker1986 replied to mouldie's topic in 350Z General
Well our 350z is technically the Mrs' car but we have both loved the car since it came out, at that time it was not an option as she couldnt drive and I was too young and a student so couldnt afford one. Then actually I was toying around with the idea of getting a weekend car - something like an MX5/S2000 and one of my mates is an automotive engineer said - "why not a 350z". And my only thought at the time was damn why didnt I think of that but it was out of budget really. Anyway fast forward about 6months and the Mrs wanted rid of her 12yr old micra and we decided rather than 3rd car just get a better replacement for her and we started hard researching and looking around and one popped up 25miles away, was exactly what we wanted and did the deal within a week. We both love it and couldnt be happier. TBH if costs are a concern I would say your worrying too much about it, go test drive one. If those worries dont disappear maybe its something you should think twice about. My opinion with these sorts of cars is that you have to love it or youll end up resenting the costs and niggles. Personally it was fully worth it, I literally look forward to any reason to take it out . Hawker -
Im in Leicester, but in town as you said, luckily ours was ok, and my civic was fine in loughborough, so it must just have been that bit in the middle. I was having a paintless dent dude come yesterday to have a look at the cars but he had to cancel because of all the hail damage , feel for you man. Hawker

Ahhh well tbh the service history is somewhat patchy anyhow. Hadn't considered moving the MOT, presumably you just book an MOT with the garage and thats it? Cheers, Hawker
-
Hi Guys, Last guy who owned our car had it serviced in October (before the winter) but the MOT is due in March. Personally I like to get both done together. Since the service its done less than 4000miles. I dont expect to be adding more than 5000miles between now and next March. Do you think I can afford to leave it till March or should I do it in November again and live with them being split. Also can anyone recommend me a decent garage in leicester/nearby other than nissan as i know theyll rip me a new one. Cheers Hawker

I think they look fantastic in all colours. Ours is GM and it looks awesome, would happily have got silver or black if they had turned up. Azure blue is beautiful but my car is that sort of colour and so is my mums so a 3rd would have been a bit much. I like the orange but the Mrs didnt so that was the only colour we ruled out of those Hawker
