  1. Yeah turns out it was the tyre pressures, they were all down around 28, should really have checked them when I got it rather than trusting the AA man to know what he was doing. Back up to 35 and feeling tight again MDMetal I suggest you check that and see if thats the problem. Many thanks all for all the usual good advice Hawker
  2. Hi, yeah wasnt a sudden change as far as ive noticed. Its only done 33000 miles :S. Ill check the tyre pressures tomorrow, hopefully its something as simple as that. Hawker
  3. Hi all, Just a quick question. Weve noticed the steering on our Zed seems to have gotten a bit looser for lack of a better word. Just that it doesnt feel so hard to turn the wheel and when you're driving along when it hits a bump theres a bit more wobble fed back. Full lock seems to be about 2.5 turns which I presume is normal. Just wondering if its anything I should be getting looked at or possibly if its just because its getting more use. Only thing ive had done is 4 wheel alignment a month or so ago, which admittedly was all over the shop before it was sorted. Any idea or suggestions would be most welcome. Thanks Hawker
  4. Well im not unrealistic about the situation I know I cant keep the thing pristine and use it at the same time. I was thinking I might just do a touch up run round and then have them machine polished to even out the finish. But equally ive never tried anything like that and dont know what sort of results ill end up with. Equally I could just do resprays but I always worry about colour matching with the resprays and that it might look completely wrong and worse than it was before - but again ive not got any experience of that either personally Hawker
  5. Many thanks guys, Presumably I would need to get the chips that are already there sorted before applying the venture shield or else theyll still be visible under it anyway. In which case I think ill let it get worse before I do anything with it. Hawker
  6. Hi all, I'm sure this topic has been done before to death but my search skills seem to be failing me. I was wondering what people are doing about stone chips in the front bumper? I've been out on a few runs and have noticed some more and want my zed to stay looking good. Advice much appreciated, Thanks Hawker
  7. Well our 350z is technically the Mrs' car but we have both loved the car since it came out, at that time it was not an option as she couldnt drive and I was too young and a student so couldnt afford one. Then actually I was toying around with the idea of getting a weekend car - something like an MX5/S2000 and one of my mates is an automotive engineer said - "why not a 350z". And my only thought at the time was damn why didnt I think of that but it was out of budget really. Anyway fast forward about 6months and the Mrs wanted rid of her 12yr old micra and we decided rather than 3rd car just get a better replacement for her and we started hard researching and looking around and one popped up 25miles away, was exactly what we wanted and did the deal within a week. We both love it and couldnt be happier. TBH if costs are a concern I would say your worrying too much about it, go test drive one. If those worries dont disappear maybe its something you should think twice about. My opinion with these sorts of cars is that you have to love it or youll end up resenting the costs and niggles. Personally it was fully worth it, I literally look forward to any reason to take it out . Hawker
  8. Im in Leicester, but in town as you said, luckily ours was ok, and my civic was fine in loughborough, so it must just have been that bit in the middle. I was having a paintless dent dude come yesterday to have a look at the cars but he had to cancel because of all the hail damage , feel for you man. Hawker
  9. Ahhh well tbh the service history is somewhat patchy anyhow. Hadn't considered moving the MOT, presumably you just book an MOT with the garage and thats it? Cheers, Hawker
  10. Hi Guys, Last guy who owned our car had it serviced in October (before the winter) but the MOT is due in March. Personally I like to get both done together. Since the service its done less than 4000miles. I dont expect to be adding more than 5000miles between now and next March. Do you think I can afford to leave it till March or should I do it in November again and live with them being split. Also can anyone recommend me a decent garage in leicester/nearby other than nissan as i know theyll rip me a new one. Cheers Hawker
  11. I think they look fantastic in all colours. Ours is GM and it looks awesome, would happily have got silver or black if they had turned up. Azure blue is beautiful but my car is that sort of colour and so is my mums so a 3rd would have been a bit much. I like the orange but the Mrs didnt so that was the only colour we ruled out of those Hawker
  12. Hey guys, Just got round to uploading some photos, shame the weathers not been better but here it is : Thanks again for all the help and advice. Hawker
  13. I used the AA when we got ours inspected a few weeks ago, the bloke was really thorough. Obviously depends who comes to do it I imagine. So far so good in the last two weeks nothing has blown up or fallen off. Hawker
  14. Thanks for the help guys, in the end I just took it to the dealer and they did it for a nominal fee. But the idiots put the brackets on the wrong way I've just realised! Presumably it not going to do it any harm like that for a few days before I get it back to them? Cheers Hawker
  15. Hi guys, I'm sure this has been done to death but I need help with the boot struts on the new zed. I got some new ones from sgs. And I've unscrewed the bracket at the base but I can't get the top one out. It's the stock one no clips. Now I've tried to screw the bracket back in but it won't screw down. I'm guessing I need to get the top out and then put the new bracket screwed in and get the top in last? Please help with how to get the top out its currently semi screwed down and closed. Thanks, Hawker
  16. @Bulletmagnet, thanks for the heads up about CS, theyre litterally 2min from me Hawker
  17. Thanks guys, I have PMd ZMANALEX and am waiting for him to get back to me with a price. I did consider the make it yourself route but to do it properly would take a lot of time and Id rather have something fits properly . Sorry for the stupid question but whats a "CS", and is there any way of finding a breakers yard without just ringing round? Cheers Hawker
  18. Hey guys, Not sure what its actually called but im after the boot floor that covers the spare wheel for a 350z (should sit under the boot matt). If anyone has one that would be awesome. Thanks Hawker
  19. Hi if this is still going I was wondering if you have the bit that covers the spare wheel and goes under a boot Matt Thanks Hawker
  20. Hey guys, Just wanted to update, the AA man had a look and the only thing was that the front pads have only got about 6000 miles of wear left on them, not a big deal to me so we went ahead and have picked up the car, were both well chuffed and grateful for all the useful input from here. Just need to get onto these dozy NMR people to sort it out. Will get up some pics once weather and time allow Cheers, Hawker
  21. Yes he has been running it on premium 98 or 99 octane fuel - asked that one already .
  22. Lol, no harm getting some more opinions. I have further proof this NMR is a load of old rubbish, because they have updated their system with the mileage information I gave on my HPI check now. I am going to get the AA to come and do an inspection on it, this should give us peace of mind along with the most recent service stamp. Many thanks again for all your input. Hawker
