I used the AA when we got ours inspected a few weeks ago, the bloke was really thorough. Obviously depends who comes to do it I imagine. So far so good in the last two weeks nothing has blown up or fallen off. Hawker

Thanks for the help guys, in the end I just took it to the dealer and they did it for a nominal fee. But the idiots put the brackets on the wrong way I've just realised! Presumably it not going to do it any harm like that for a few days before I get it back to them? Cheers Hawker

Hi guys, I'm sure this has been done to death but I need help with the boot struts on the new zed. I got some new ones from sgs. And I've unscrewed the bracket at the base but I can't get the top one out. It's the stock one no clips. Now I've tried to screw the bracket back in but it won't screw down. I'm guessing I need to get the top out and then put the new bracket screwed in and get the top in last? Please help with how to get the top out its currently semi screwed down and closed. I did consider the make it yourself route but to do it properly would take a lot of time and Id rather have something fits properly . Sorry for the stupid question but whats a "CS", and is there any way of finding a breakers yard without just ringing round? Cheers Hawker

Hey guys, Just wanted to update, the AA man had a look and the only thing was that the front pads have only got about 6000 miles of wear left on them, not a big deal to me so we went ahead and have picked up the car, were both well chuffed and grateful for all the useful input from here. Just need to get onto these dozy NMR people to sort it out. Will get up some pics once weather and time allow Cheers, Hawker

Yes he has been running it on premium 98 or 99 octane fuel - asked that one already .

Lol, no harm getting some more opinions. I have further proof this NMR is a load of old rubbish, because they have updated their system with the mileage information I gave on my HPI check now. I am going to get the AA to come and do an inspection on it, this should give us peace of mind along with the most recent service stamp. Many thanks again for all your input. Hawker

Hi guys, Im new to the forum, I was just after some advice regarding a purchase of a 350z second hand. Essentially the Mrs and I are looking for something sporty and have both always really wanted one. We are aware of the costs involved and they should not be a problem to us. Now we have seen one that we are keen on but I was after some advice. Essentially its a 2005 UK GT model. 31085 on the clock. Outside it is immaculate, only a few stone chips on the front and inside is the same. The chap who owns it seems pretty genuine and is selling as he has just got a bike and license and doesnt need two weekend vehicles. Now the problems with it are one the HPI check which has shown this: Now the mileage discrenacy occurs (32000-23000) when he performed his HPI check and appears to have put in 32000 instead of 23000 as a typo. Ive read lots of reports about NMR being inaccurate etc and the MOT history is as such: 29/03/2012 - 30,844 Miles 22/03/2011 - 23,176 Miles 31/03/2010 - 19,700 Miles 26/03/2009 - 16,155 Miles 21/02/2008 - 11,875 Miles Which is all in keeping with things, so im not concerned the car has been clocked. The second problem is that there is a large gap in the service history, it only has 2 early stamps, his reason for this is that the previous owners and himself have had it serviced through work and the books didnt get stamped. It has just been serviced and MOT'd and the book will be stamped for the service 2 weeks ago. The price weve come to is £8500. So basically my question is is there anything here that should make me walk away, the car is genuinely in immaculate condition and ran fine on the test drive we did. Thoughts would be most welcome.
