Ok thanks, will do

Neil, I think you need to visit a more specialised website to get random photos of strangers' body parts popping up (ooh er) in your inbox!

The steering is one of the best things about the Zed I got in my daughter's Fiat Panda yesterday and it was like driving a car made from thistledown with a gossamer steering wheel. I know for a fact that I've got massive biceps for a girl though due to riding a horse every day. Maybe I'm just a freak

I've had problems with water coming through the windows of my roadster and I now think that the cockpit is noisier than when I first got my car. Colin from CAT confirmed for me that the wind noise was greater than he would expect so I have booked it in at the Nissan dealer from whom I bought it. It's still in warranty but I am worried that they will try to fob me off because a) it's a roadster and I'm only a stupid woman and what would I know about anything anyway. I know I am right though, just as I was when I told them that the wheel alignment was out. They had to accept that one because I went and looked at the calibrations myself when the car was on the ramp but 'wind noise' is obviously a bit more subjective. Any tips for dealing with the garage if they aren't prepared to help? I am going to mention that Colin gave me independent advice and that is an engineer who was instrumental in advising Nissan on what changes were needed to bring the car to the European market and hope that this will sway them if they are messing me about. Hopefully, I'm worrying about nothing but I do feel slightly anxious that I won't get the result that I'm after.

Thank you very much everyone Steve, I decided, probably against common sense to get the Nissan Alezan orange one (along with a matching gear gaiter from eBay), despite the fact that my seats are black. I am hoping to get a brake gaiter in the same colour to make things look as though they are meant to go together. I did love the look of the carbon fibre one but I rather like the feel of the OEM one in my hand so I decided to stick with what I knew! I am hoping to carry on doing small mods (well, getting someone else to do them for me) so will keep checking what the traders are offering

Thanks very much everyone. I suspect I may be too weak and feeble to do it myself so I've asked someone else to do it for me but he said it would be easier if I could tell him how to do it, which I now can
-
Please don't shout at me but can anyone point me in the direction of a thread which tells (or preferably shows as well) you how to remove the existing gear knob and gaiter in order to replace them? I think I've seen a thread about replacing the knob but can't find it and I am guessing that you have to remove the console (is that even the right term?) in order to replace the gaiter? Any help welcomed. Thank you

Chesterfield - how rude BulletMagnet - I've posted on Spotted and Flyered a few times but not had a response so far. I like your quote, very thought provoking.

Everyone here is part of a club, obviously, but isn't it funny how we like to group together because we've all got the same car (or horse or whatever)? Someone just told me that Defender owners have a secret wave when they pass fellow owners on the roads. Glad we Zed owners just have a normal friendly wave I got my first wave on the M1 on my way down to Millbrook at the weekend and I was chuffed. Would love to know who it was!
-
Glad it's not just me then I always find the furthest corner of the car park and, ideally, one where no-one can park on at least one side of me. I am not in the slightest bit bothered about having a short hike to the shops or wherever I am going as it seems far preferable than scratched paintwork or some idiot parking so close that even if I were wafer thin I still couldn't open my door wide enough to get in I went to Jewson's yesterday and parked next to a very smart Jag (who had him/her self taken up two spaces to be on the safe side I assume ) figuring that if he/she was so protective of his car he/she wouldn't risk opening their door onto my car.

Sarah, I had no idea that tracks even imposed a decibel level until I read that Mr Zedbelly is completely unmodified at the moment although I have bought a few bits and pieces to improve him aesthetically. Just need to ask my nice friend up in the village if he will fit everything for me

Thanks everyone. No pics or vids I'm afraid as Millbrook is a proving ground for all sorts of new vehicles so they stick security stickers over your mobile phone camera to prevent you from using it. It was a bit ironic in a way because my husband (who very kindly came along with me knowing that he would have to sit in the CAT office all the time that I was out enjoying myself ) is a director in a company that sees new vehicles at the clay model stage and has input into the design of some of them. I have to admit that I would have loved a photo of my car on the track, especially if it looked as though I knew what I was doing
-
Sarah, if your day is anything like mine was yesterday you will absolutely love it Hope for a full report when you get back!!!
-
Thanks! I told Colin at the start of the day that I definitely didn't want to do a proper track day but by the end I was telling him that I'd changed my mind

Had my first ever track day instruction yesterday and it was one of the best things I've ever done I was a bit nervous beforehand in case Colin at CAT said that my driving was appalling and I shouldn't even be in charge of a disability scooter but he was very complimentary and gave me loads of confidence. The weather was fine at the start of the session and I learnt how to threshold brake from 80 mph amongst other things. The high speed track was excellent and getting up into lane five was such a buzz. I managed 122 mph and wanted to do more but it was time to move to the next experience. I hated the skid pan because it made me feel ill so I bailed out (not literally) and we went onto the handling circuit which was the best fun ever It had started to chuck it down and was thundering and lightning but I pressed on (literally this time!) and had a fantastic time. I absolutely loved every second of driving round that track and didn't want to leave. The Alpine circuit seemed a bit dull after the thrill of what had gone before but Colin said that I did really well and that I was naturally wired to drive a performance car. I am sure he says this to everyone but it made me happy nonetheless and I am already planning my next trip. I can thoroughly recommend CAT and Colin is a fabulous instructor. He explains the engineering and physics behind what he is teaching you but makes it easy to understand which was great for me since I am useless at stuff like that.

I'm doing the same, keeping it on automatic and seeing what the camera advises. I've taken some shots of horses that I'm pleased with and had them made into canvasses. I hope to get a few good car ones at Harewood too, fingers crossed Not sure that I'll be brave enough to post them on the forum though!

Yay, thought I recognised him He seemed nice in the interview that I read but it's good to know that he is a nice lad in real life and the other driver too. Great photos by the way. I've got myself a DLSR but still learning how to use it properly
-
Clown, is the young lad in your photos the driver who was taken on after winning the competition as the most successful gamer?
-
Paul, I've PM'd you Didn't want to humiliate you in public when you realised how far ahead of you I was
-
Wow, bon voyage (assuming you do want to go to Vancouver )
-
Hmm, he's damn good with words that Builder chap Maybe I'll have to have to cheat to beat him solving these puzzles

"once got shouted at by a clown on stilts in a shopping centre" My God, your real life drama sounds like one of my nightmares I was taken to the circus at an impressionable age and have had clown phobia (bet there's a proper name for that) ever since. -
Ah, good we are finally back on topic - yay The game is very reminiscent of a graphic novel, think Brian Talbot's Grandville and similar, and the player character is a robot called Josef. He has to find his girlfriend and best friend (both robots too, naturally) and he does this by solving puzzles and finding things. When you write it down it sounds a bit humdrum and derivative but it really isn't. The artwork is wonderful in a sort of Heath Robinson meets Dr Seuss way, the music is haunting and doesn't get on your wick like it does in some games and it is addictive so don't blame me if you decide to buy it. In fact, don't buy it if your family might hunt me down as well 'cos I'm too busy avoiding Builder49's family at the moment DoogyRev, no, the robot remains fully clothed at all times .... or does he?
