  1. Ha ha, you may have to wait a while for that I did come out of the audition feeling generally more confident though and I parked Stanley in a small gap in the car park afterwards with quite a flourish I can tell you
  2. Aw, that could well be true Andy but I really am happy that they thought I was good enough. I've not got many talents you see ...
  3. For those who remember my recent post about always having wanted to sing in a choir, just a quick update. I went for my singing assessment this morning and ... I got in!!! Hooray. I am now officially over excited
  4. That is really good. I think it is horrible (as well as irritating to other road users) when drivers stare at accident sites.
  5. On the plus side you could then pick up one of the doors, crumple it up and use it to blow your nose
  6. Pete, I think it must have GPS because it definitely tells her that she hasn't been speeding (or at least that's what she tells me) I'm sure I could log in too but I trust her.
  7. I wasn't going to weigh in on this thread again but StevoD I honestly think that, unless you stop griping about women, those you know/have known/those your mates know/have known/those you've read about on the internet etc you won't be successful in your attempt to find a girlfriend. You seem completely self-absorbed and I am sorry if that sounds harsh but maybe if you think about it you will see what I mean? Learn to love yourself AND others for who they are and stop your constant nit picking and fault finding and you will be a lot happier I can promise you.
  8. I already do!! We must be driving at different times
  9. You do what you can to please the one you love (To an extent) Erm, I wouldn't though. Take me or leave me is my attitude, unless I was doing something really anti social in which case I would probably be better off on my own anyway!!!
  10. I didn't invent the telematics box and have never even seen the thing because my daughter lives in Yorkshire and I live in Surrey so I'm honestly not sure how it works. I don't see how it can be anything more than a crude indicator of a driving safety though unless it had a camera attachment so the insurers could watch what was actually happening? It seems stupid that my daughter gets penalised for moving her car a few feet along the drive and I don't see in what way this indicates poor driving on her part? grundy, I've been driving a lot longer than you and I have only seen that happen a handful of times so I think you must be very unlucky
  11. I find your post interesting rabbitstew because I have never understood the whole 'changing your partner' thing either All I can think is that one of the people involved (man or woman, because it does sometimes happen the other way round) is simply losing interest in their partner and trying to change them is a way of trying to rekindle the interest? That's only a theory though because I've never wanted to change anyone. I don't think you really could change them unless they wanted to change anyway or they would resent you in exactly the way you have outlined, and with good cause too. One last point though, why did you allow yourself to be changed to try to please someone else? I might modify some aspects of my behaviour if they were really annoying (fortunately I've never been asked to because Mr Twobears is very easy going) but I wouldn't change the essence of who I was, no matter who was asking me. Doesn't it feel unnatural to dance to someone else's tune rather than doing/being what you want?
  12. Sorry StevoD but your negativity is getting me down now so I'll leave you to it You can't change the behaviour of other people but you can change the way that you act and feel. Up to you really ...
  13. Great words of encouragement pjf1985 StevoD, sorry but you are being silly now. Everyone has been in a bad relationship at some point but why let that define you or your attitude to the world? Let go of the bitterness you feel for your ex and start again. What's the point in punishing all the other women in the world for what your ex did? Ultimately you are only punishing yourself. Lose the attitude and start to be happy with your little universe. So what if you don't have a partner right now? Being happy and confident is reward in itself. Good luck if you try to change your life. I think I have said enough now
  14. Ah, I've never even heard of that so no wonder I didn't understand. Sorry
  15. I'm sorry but I've no idea what you mean?
  16. Nope Grundy, there was never a 'golden age' of dating I assure you.
  17. I'm sorry to say that I also have to agree with Alive Boy's last post. Unless you start liking women rather than seeing them as the enemy, then you may as well carry a banner saying "Avoid me ladies".
  18. StevoD and Grundy225, you both seem to have such a clear picture of what the world is like that you are defeated before you even start and that is sad I know you are young but, honestly not all young women are like those that you describe. My own daughter is just about to turn 21 and is a slim, leggy blonde and very pretty (or so everyone tells me so it's not just me being biased) and she is nothing like the women you describe. She works hard at her chosen career and so does her boyfriend. She certainly doesn't aspire to date a Jeremy Kyle reject and her boyfriend is good looking, granted, but he is also a really nice chap and I think they will make money through their own hard work if that is what they want.
  19. Some of the women in your list sound to have rather er, Jeremy Kyle potential Who in their right mind looks for aggressive junkie boyfriends? A lot of the other women you describe sound immature and/or delusional. How many of them do you think achieve their 'dream' of dating the buff-est, richest men? I strongly suspect that they can't all end up with these 'gorgeous' specimens. How many of these Adonis like creatures are there to go round? I don't see many.
  20. Goodness, what a lot of disillusioned chaps there are on here I stick with my assertion that decent women want decent blokes. If a woman wants to play mind games/hang around with dickheads etc then is she really someone that you want a relationship with???
  21. I think if you're after ladies who are 'on the game' then you need to re-think your strategy Seriously though, and this may be too blunt, in which case I apologise but I'm afraid that when a girl tells you that you are a nice guy etc what she is really saying is that you are a nice guy but she doesn't fancy you. That's fine because most men and women are not going to want to fall into bed/a relationship together are they? All you have to do is find a girl that you like and who likes you right back. Not always easy but there are a lot of women out there so you just need to keep going on dates until you find the right one. Don't give up but, equally importantly, don't exude desperation because that is really off putting to all women. Confidence is the key. Even if you don't feel confident, act as though you do until it becomes second nature.
  22. In what way has it changed? I'm intrigued and I hope I never have to find out for myself because I'm a bit too old to start dating at my age. Seems a lot harder, and it seems you have to be a douchebag to get girls these days. When I was 18/19 it was dead easy, I'd have no trouble but now you have to put in some serious graft or look and dress a particular way which I'm not doing haha. I'm still not much the wiser after your reply I'm afraid. Being horrible can't really be essential to get a girl these days can it? Surely it depends on the kind of girl that you are hoping to attract? I bet the nice ones prefer decent blokes, not ar$eholes You can't alter your looks without cosmetic surgery so you need to work with what you've got. I think making sure the basics are in place i.e. personal hygiene up to a good standard, nice aftershave (but not gallons of the stuff ) and, most important of all, confidence and having something to talk about, will stand you in good stead. Now, get yourself out there and try again young man Advice courtesy of Granny Annie (only joking, even I'm not that old)
  23. I've never imagined insurance to be exciting but I'm pleased that you are doing a job that you love Tim I'm not working at the moment and I am trying to work out what I would like to do "when I grow up", as it were
