  1. I've just got mine back from getting done this weekend. I've got 18" Rays on my GT model, and I had them done in a gunmetal on my silver Z - yes I know..... once I get the rest of the car washed next weekend, I'll post some pictures. Anyway: I had the wheels on my BMW M refurbished, and paid about £65 a rim, but it involved sending them off and getting them back a week later etc. etc. etc.... This time I gave the car to a bodyshop and got them to strip the wheel front and, prime it, and spray it..... and it worked out at £45 a rim, and I was able to pick whatever colour I liked. The point I'm trying to make is that you need to make sure you're comparing prices for what you're getting for your hard earned cash, and not be comparing apples to pears

  3. I'm still after some, and fast too. The Z is in the garage having the wheels refurbed, before getting into some new rubber, and 4 wheel alignment. It's booked in for an MOT on Saturday afternoon, and I'm keen to get the spacers in the mix before the alignment takes place. I'm also after hubcentric 20 and 25mm, so would welcome a set that currently don't live a million miles away from Redbridge....
  4. Looking at the sellers name, I imagine one of those bids is from Gaz, and the other from Gary. There may be a third coming in from "2" at some stage.
  5. I blame it on the parents..... It's not often I allow myself to be dragged into stuff like this, but come on - honestly..... This muppet obviously done these various bits on this "Ferrari" and every time walked away from it, continuing to look at at it over his shoulder as he went, thinking WOW. It's illusions like this that parents instill at a young age when they tell you you've done something amazing, when really all you achieved was to use a spoon - 5 years after all your peers of the same age. It didn't deserve praise - rather what would have been more beneficial is to be told "You're a muppet, and need to start growing up a bit quicker!!!" The time effort and money spent here could have been used to do something great....., but instead it was used by some X Factor wannabe dream-chaser. rant over
  6. Busy with work during the week, but could happily make some time on the weekend if you're still stuck. I'm in the Redbridge so not sure if that's good for you or not, but having bought my first Z only 4 months ago, I know how much I wanted someone who knew a bit more about it than I did to take a look. Hope it goes well
  7. Don't want to be tempting fate, but.... Mine is a 130k+ miles and the first clutch it had was the one I had put in it when buying a few months ago at 128k, and I only done this because I know how hard I drive cars and did not want to be stuck somewhere when the original gave way. I had been in company cars for the last 10years so I'm used to expecting my cars to drive like knew and when I bought this one, I was surprised to see the miles and for it to feel the way it does. Since getting it I've had a bit of work done from Storm Motor Werks (who also look after an M of mine) and now it get pushed round like normal. The Z feels strong and tight!!
  8. Just had this done this morning by StormMotorWerks (also looks after my M), and it took them all of 30-40 mins total. The price came to not far off what I was considering to pay for one of the cheapest torque wrenches I could find, and didn't even go up to 177!!! Clicking noise all gone - I'm a happy chappy.
  9. I just had a Girth supplied by KTA in stainless. Had the Z logo put on the top, and the shift pattern on the side (facing towards the rear). Turned up in just over a week. Love it!!!!
  10. I'll be there on Sunday, and will be keeping my eyes out in the car parks for fellow Z's. Mines Silver, with a plate finishing with 13.

Hey all I done the iPod Hack this weekend, and have a few tips to add to the excellent guide: Tip 1 I decided to use speaker cable instead of chopping up a 3.5mm jack cable, and added a 3rd cable for the grounding. The tip here is use the thin cables if you do this, not multi strand oxygen free like I did as its a pain to solder onto the circuit board, as well as the socket on the other side. Tip 2 Take your CDs out the stereo first. You're fighting with the centre console to manoeuvre it out, and on top of everything else you keep pressing eject and have your CDs firing out at you. Tip 3 Use a decent soldering iron. I bought one for £10 from Maplin and it just took too long to heat anything up. It was more gradual then instant which is what you want when soldering. Anyway, here's my finished job: Just tried to do this using my iPad. Can anyone tell me why I can't post images using my iPad

  13. Wow This is exactly what I've been having issues with, so this coming weekend I might have a go, apart from 1 dilemma..... It's an hours worth of work (or thereabouts), so I could either pay to have it done, or spend the money on a torque wrench?? So any recommendations on half-decent wrench that would be suitable to do the job?? If I do it myself, I'll take pics on the way and post them to help the already excellent guide. thanks
  14. Dont do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sell it and buy something else. You will massively change the sound of it Honestly you'll sell it for great money Please tell me he's not butchering a nismo system!!! Seriously guys - it's just the tips. I drove away from the exhaust place last weekend, having booked the car in for this Saturday and the thought of loosing that noise occurred to me, so I phoned them back to confirm changing the tips would not affect it. They confirmed that it would do, but so mildly that I wouldn't notice... I just love the look of the stock tips - they're subtle and still look purposeful. By the looks of my pipes, it looks like the previous owner already changed the Nismo tips for the ones I've got on there. Take a look at the pictures on my previous post titled Exhaust Tips - they've been welded onto the Nismo system. It'll be an improvement - I'll let you all know after it's done - it's booked in for first thing Saturday morning.
  15. Hey Even though I'm relatively a newbie (4weeks Z ownership) I can tell you about my exhaust experience.... I love the sound of my system, but bought the car with it fitted and never bothered asking anything about it. The only think I didn't like was the size of tips - they're far too big for my liking and really early on I posted some pics and asked for advise of getting them changed back to stock. Nissan don't sell just the stock tips, so last weekend I went to a bespoke exhaust place and asked them to fit something that would look like the original. On getting the car of it's wheels I decided to ask them what make was the pipe fitted? A Full Nismo system. I smiled. Anyway - this weekend the tips will be changed to 3" rolled stainless jobs, but the rest of the Nismo will stay, and I do love the sound of it, so I vouch for the Nismo...

  18. Hi All I want to change the tips of my exhaust system for standard ones. I understand from the previous owner that the exhaust was changed at some point, and I love the sound of this one, but I love the look of the stock tips. Here's some pictures of mine: They're welded so I've found a local exhaust specialist (Pipecraft) to do the work, but I need to know if I can buy just the tips of the standard pipes and get them to swap, or do I have to get them to replicate something that looks like the standard tips? thanks

Hi All As mentioned in another forum last week I'd now like to change the Engine, Diff and Gearbox oils, as the previous numb-nut owner thought it clever to ruin a full dealer service history with a service from KwikFit labelled as just Full Service in the book . So I've got a 2004 350zGT with around 130k miles on the clock an dI really eant ot be confident with it mechanically before I start enjoying it . I know some of you have already recommended ZMANALEX for the fluids, but I've also read that Molyslip is a good addition to the gearbox oil and he may not supply that??? The gearchange is currently nice and tight, but I want to do whatever I need to in order to keep it like that. So basically I'm asking: Which oils should I use? How much of them? Where to get them from? How much should they cost me? Thanks in advance.
  22. [/album] It all worked The Bose sounds more Bose like, and the airbag light is a memory - I can't believe the previous owner didn't bother finding out how to deal with these irratations . What I need to do next is: Get the engine, gearbox and diff oils changed Get the tips of the exhaust changed back to the stock ones. For the fluid changes I need a decent specialist independent garage somewhere near IG1 (Ilford) so any assistance would be appreciated by means of a recommendation.   23. You my friend are an absolute STAR The only problem is that getting in late from work, these jobs will have to wait till the weekend, but with your detailed step by step guide, how can I go wrong?? Thanks heaps, I'll let you know how I get on at the end of the weekend.
