just a little update i'm convinced after my post of the 16th that the turbine on my GT35 is way too big i've ordered a new much smaller T3 turbine .48 A/R should arrive early January it's only money and you cant take it with you right ? hopefully will be able to get on as long as it doesn't snow

So the good news is the doc says i can go back to work Monday and if i'm well enough to work i'm well enough to play with the Z When i took the turbo off the Z i noticed some oil in the compressor so i'm guessing the oil is not draining properly i'm going to put in a second pump to scavenge the oil from the turbo Good job i have a few spare pumps knocking about i've already bought a second speed controller for the other pump and mounted both in a box just have to fit a cooling fan and then get started on the plumbing really need to get under the car to sort out the plumbing and fitting the second pump but i wont be allowed to do that for a while yet

i looked at e46 m3's at the same time as the z as i was coming from an e46 328 coupe the only thing that made me buy the z was that there are loads of m3's around here all driven by angry looking Tw*ts with sunglasses and shaved heads a look which doesn't suit me and the z put a silly grin on my face the m3 is very good maybe too good but didn't have the grin factor.

Hi guys having a bit of time on my hands I've been looking into the process of selecting a turbo for rear mount set-up's most people seem to regard it as voodoo experience or just dumb luck looking into it the big problem seems to be a lack of compatible turbo's the turbine and compressors are matched to suit a standard turbo type installation where the turbo is mounted on the exhaust manifold under normal operating conditions the exhaust gas volume is approximately 4 times the intake volume due to it's expansion due to temperature intake temp 80 F exhaust manifold temp potentially 1800 F but what surprised me was the huge drop in temp to the tailpipe to approx 300 F lagging the exhaust may improve this but not enough, the temperature drop is not all bad as the denser exhaust gas offsets this somewhat if we apply Charles Law which describes how gases tend to expand when heated we can see that the volume of exhaust gas in a rear mount installation may only be 1.5 to 2 times the volume of the intake so people saying drop the Turbine A/R down from for example .63 to .58 as i believe they used in the STS set up does not seem enough for this type of set up but this is where we hit the problem i was talking about of no compatible turbo's because if you drop the Turbine A/R lower the compressor side also reduces because as i said at the start the turbine and compressors are matched by the manufacturers to suit a standard type installation so I'll try my set up as is when the sun comes back out next year but i think I'll be building a hybrid turbo before i'm happy with it

Nasty. Think you chose the right option then. So can you punch through solid walls now right? Any options for installing motorized servos? no but i do use it to check the rotation sensors on some of the equipment at work

coughing up a lot of blood recently and being told i might have lung cancer was enough to make me need a change of pants it's not luckily but bloody scary though this was the most painful had a year of pain before the operation and a couple of years after being in constant pain gets to you after a while

Now if she'd been the one taking my blood the other day i probably wouldn't have acted like a needle phobic pansy Probably have trouble getting any blood cos it would be somewhere else!! so this is going to sound like B.S or the start of a scene in a porn movie but it's 100% gods honest...when i was about 18 many years ago i had to go for a blood test being needle phobic i was crapping myself so i walk into the cubical and it gets worse as there's a quite attractive lady waiting to take my blood i'm 18 so there's only two things on my mind women and cars(still the same now actually) and she's going to think i'm a complete pansy so i sit in the chair opposite her and tell her i have a big problem with needles no problem she say's takes my hand and puts it half way up her skirt by the time i can think straight took maybe 10-15 seconds tops she's stuck a needle in me taken blood stuck a plaster on my arm and she's pushing me out the door saying next good job i had a girlfriend at the time or i would have ended up with friction burns....
