  1. yea the fitting i'm waiting for should gain me an inch extra clearance my missus said an extra inch would make all the difference shame about the insurance messing me about though can't make their minds up
  2. tightened up all of the pipework charge and exhaust from the turbo to the engine this is the slightly modified oiling setup with my new pump, the barb fittings and clear reinforced hose are temporary as is the feed from the bottom of the tank still need to run the hose back for the PCV system once this is done i'm going to take it all off and put the backbox back on due to some debate with my insurance co. it will only be until my renewall when i will change to another company
  3. found doom3 3d in a draw the other day still a great game feel a bit of a retro session coming on
  4. What do you mean finished when you start modding there's no such thing as finished the gaps between mods are where you run out of money oh and i like the wheels considering doing mine in matte black.
  5. you're a braver man than me the problem with engine swaps on modern cars is the electronics (and i'm a nerd) real pain in the arse that's what put me off putting a big V8 in my z when i blew the engine good luck with this
  6. hope you'll be going to confession after that comment Blasphemer!
  7. i'm only joking really i don't generally spend too much money don't drink don't smoke damn i'm almost perfect the z and the house are the only things i spend money on she's usually trying to give me money i'm almost a kept man
  8. she probably wouldn't be if i told her just hope she's not here when they get delivered i may be sleeping in the Z
  9. damn right might even buy another as a spare Well I wouldn't go that far, ..not at $400 a pop but still worth every penny, sorry meant cent. well may have got a little carried away bought another 2 pumps
  10. joined when i was thinking about doing my rear mount turbo to get information but now i'm addicted like Ekona it's the first thing i check in the morning and last thing in the evening it helps that most people here don't take themselves too seriously
  11. careful what you wish for i'm seriously thinking about ironing out the glitches selling it and starting again as there are some things i would like to do differently , holset hx35 instead of gt35, standard exhaust, different manifold layout etc which would mean starting again from scratch
  12. damn right might even buy another as a spare
  13. well breaking my expensive turbowerx pump turned out to be the best thing i could have done the new pump has a much smaller displacement more suited to the flow requirements of a turbo also a much higher pressure rating 125 psi where as the turbowerx pump was near it's limit pressure wise and it's displacement was far too high causing me to run the pump too slow and bleed off excess pressure through the regulator increasing oil temp and causing the foaming which was giving me problems the oil pressure is now rock steady where ever i set it new pump is smaller and lighter giving me more room the only downside to the whole thing is the $400 they retail at but never mind you can't take it with you
  14. you live in wales isn't it always wet and cold anyway Yep pretty much not to mention a hill or mountain around every corner. Got lucky last year as there was no snow, ...if it snows (bad) this year though I will be walking to work. Better that though then leaving my Zed stranded for a week at the bottom of a hill as I had to do one year with my Civic Type R. Funnily though I never had such issues with my old Impreza. 4WD for the mfw. took mine out all the time when we had the snow the other year, you know when they had all the severe weather warnings and said it's the end of the world stay inside or you'll die, it was great fun
  15. you live in wales isn't it always wet and cold anyway
  16. ignore it untill its summer again
  17. and thats what i like about you you say it how you see it no pussyfootin around
  18. no going to make an ally tray to protect it as i don't want it on show also hoping to change the air filter to the standard airbox with a k&n if i can fit it under
  19. without a doubt rear mount is going to have more lag than a conventional setup but it doesn't seem to have the all or nothing feel of conventional laggy systems so unless your playing top trumpsin the real world rear mount setups aren't bad
  20. I can only go off my own experience, which was changing an air to air intercooled system to a water to air one, which involved removed about a metre of pipework. Throttle response was massively increased, even on a small system like that. You're not just pushing along what's in the pipe, you're compressing it. To compress it means that you have to add more into the same size space, which if the pump (turbo) size doesn't change then it must take longer. Whilst a rear mounted turbo may well be acceptable for people coming from big turbos who are used to having large boost thresholds, they're just not for me. Each to their own though, as always What's that middle car? That looks amazing! technically rear mounts may be laggy and if you were relying on the turbo ie on a small engined car i think it would be crap but on the 350z it feels pretty smooth no kick in the back
  21. had to go to adrian flux for insurance as my current insurer admiral were being stupid quoted £365 from a.flux i can live with that
  22. you know that old saying if it ain't broke don't fix it well i fixed my turbowerx pump , thought i'll just nip up that connector even though it wasn't leaking and cracked the pump housing trying to get hold a new housing got me nowhere so have had to buy a new pump and no one to blame but me (damn those old people and their stupid old sayings)
  23. me and the wife have our cars with admiral multicar and when we asked to be put on each others cars as named drivers it dropped the total policy by £150i only pay £250 for the z with protected no claims though they are being funny over my current mods might try adrian flux next year as they do multicar
  24. I'm using a turboXS utec ecu as they used in the sts rear mount turbo's purely because it came up at the right price also easy to tune yourself not that i intend to i know my limitationsi'm currently running a map designed for the 350z turbonetics single turbo setup so far in testing this has run slightly rich so i'm not too concerned considering that so far i've only used 4 psi of boost will get it to a rolling road once i've sorted out all of the teething problems boost leaks etc and sorted out the PCV system
  25. my wife disagrees says things like "why don't you leave it alone" at least i think she's talking about the car!
