Any photo? I have one too and assumed it was to do with the alarm. Ive since took it to pieces, found its a GPS antenna for an RAC trackstar device installed in the car. Am in discussions with them regarding how to get the system working again.

Sweet ! Saves me buying them I've located the exact same stuff the guys from R&d labs used in their demo video to seal the grommets. Look on EBay for item number 271642899657 Adrian, option 3 please, or 1 if it's out of stock -
I was going to quote the 113-114 as well but yes that is very very tight. Had my step dad trying as hard as he could but he couldn't get the torque wrench to click to say it had reached the required torque.

Octet, do you recommend we buy new gaskets to seal the rocket covers back into the engine? I need to do some looking and find the right type of sealer too -
Anybody found a better Dash Cam for under £100.

I have an older version of those 0801/6 camera. Essentially the same but without GPS and the LCD. Quality isn't too bad during the day but lacks at night time. The camera fits perfectly behind the rear view mirror. Thing I actually stick it to the windscreen but cant remember and car is parked in the car park. Only just about peeks out from the side so I have access to the buttons if need and its hooked up to a LCD in the cubby hole I bought from eBay and custom fabbed a surround for out of Polymorph plastic. -

Sounds good Octet, looking forward to getting the bits and giving it a go Should list the kits for sale in your member traders area. Its a very common problem that until now really didn't have a fix short of spending over 600 on parts for 2 pieces of plastic! They wont fly off of the shelves but sure there will always be a constant trickle of orders. Cars with this fault are slowly burning oil which isn't the best idea obviously, plus potentially fouling up the spark plugs so although its not a problem most people know they have it is one that needs fixing once identified. -
COuld get a bit annoying then on a 350. Shame as the key body itself looks a lot better. The 350 key is the same as a micra's !
-
Just FYI, open up the 350 key and in the top corner there is the transponder chip. I think that's the one that deals with disabling the immobilizer/alarm. COuld always try to transplant this from one key to the other, just don't lose it! Gonna be watching this thread... Where is the actual key blade though? Never seen a 370 key so not sure? Also, cant seem to find one on eBay for less than 60.00

2 inch hole saw iirc. I think I have one of those somewhere but Adrian did say he could/would provide the alignment tool as well to save buggering it up like this guy did. We just need to get the right kind of sealant. Decided im going to give this a go, try and film it all from a bonnet mounted camera and do a time lapse video or install + guide for anyone else. Will see how it goes when the kits arrive. All of this is weather permitting of course -
Must have been scary ! Good job on getting it sorted and not losing control of the car though!

So tried the NDS III on my 2004 but it fails to connect. NDS II worked fine however. May be being stupid but can't see any difference between the free and paid versions ?? Sadly for my the idle air volume learn failed, tried it several times so don't know where I'm going wrong, I did the throttle position and throttle body resets earlier in the day.

***TORQEN*** 350Z DE 03-06 Vortech V3 SCi Custom Supercharger Kit

Hey Octet, Few questions that I have just thought of. Thinking of a new direction for my Zed that may involve boosting. From what I can tell we will still need to buy an uprev license, dyno/mapping time with someone like Abbey, gauges to monitor the system (any recommendations) and installation, again recommendations for anywhere?. Anything else I have missed. Also, I know every car is different, but any idea of potential final BHP figures after doing this and all the standard mods such as intake, plenum spacer and exhaust? Random places online seem to suggest anywhere from 320 to 420 BHP which seems like a huge margin of error! -

Also kinda want to tackle it myself though. But not sure if I'm being a bit "top gear" though. Ambitious, but rubbish. Adrian, either way, I'm up for a kit. -

That's what I thought, which is fine. I would seek their advice as to what they see as the best stuff to use in sealing it back up. Not sure if they sell the alignment tool. They add a $45 surcharge which they return to you when you return the tool. Im guessing its possible without though, just makes life easier. That guy seemed to have to remove an awful lot of extra tubes and pipes that the service manual doesn't seem to suggest is necessary, plus he drilled wrong and bought the wrong gasket! lol but the earlier parts of the video were useful. Looks like a job you would tackle one side at a time otherwise I think for most people, me included, its a lot of engine to have apart at once! Still something im serious about doing, just not sure if Sky will be getting another visit from me or I can tackle it myself, looks possible, just now 100%. Yet... -

Exactly the same boat as rob would do a guide too for the forum or for you Octet for you to Include, whatever really. It's not too involved getting down to that part of the engine is it? Doesn't look too bad at least. Adrian, if you bought the kits, do they include, or would you add the correct type of adhesive used to secure the new parts in place? Also what would happen RE the alignment tool. Think it's something you could buy one of, copy and then offer the same deal they do with a small deposit which is returned if the tool is sent back? To me it looks like a simple price of metal turned on a lathe , but if it saves me drilling a 2 inch hole in the wrong piece of plastic I'm all for it! -
looking for a speed detector. anyone recommend one?
cs2000 replied to gstraw's topic in 370z General
there is one in my car the previous owner installed, it somehow knows all the GATSO type camera, but not average speed ones, even newly installed GATSO style cameras are picked up. It has a ~100m warning beep, then again at ~50m, if you're above the speed limit the detector keeps being until you slow down. Sadly its so stealthily installed I am unable to locate even a single component to advise you what it is, I wish I knew as I'd install it an other cars I own. I try not to exceed the speed limit, but in areas where i occasionally drift 1-2mph over and its unfamiliar territory it has saved me a few times. -

Octet, keep us updated on this. I have decided I will probably give this a go and do a guide if needed for our members as I am not 100% happy with any ot the others online. -

Definietly not a repost, very helpful seeing as those rockers covers are like 300 each as standard. Not 100% sure if im willing to do it (mine does have this issue) incase I balls it up! Maybe this should be moved elsewhere? forum guides or something as its a repair similar to the click axle fix really. Could save people a lot of time. -
Never again! Did it once, and took hours! had all the right tools but because I didn't want to remove the engine cover, strut brace or any of the wires just took a long time top get the plugs out. My fault entirely of course but still!

Just a update on these The link abose still works and all 8 of my bleed nipples are still good Probably a lot less shiny than they were 18 months ago, but still holding strong!
