  1. It's pretty easy, get the car up, wheels off both sides, get the bolts off the wheel hubs and then off the sub frame. You can usually just slacken the two bolts in the furthest side of the subframe so you can wiggle them off, saves the subframe falling off and the faff of putting it back on! Do check to see If your arms have the cones otherwise you'll need to pop the ones off your old arms You'll definitely need a breaker bar or torque wrench!
  2. If it's the linear 7 pin it's a bog standard electrical connector look for jst 7 pin, they're a few quid on ebay etc. Very few connectors in cars are proprietary it's just a pain to find out exactly what they are
  3. It's a standard connector I picked some up off ebay it's an easy mod the navara workshop manual has the pin diagrams you only need three wires (positive, negative and reverse) if you've installed a new head unit then you'll already have those wires no doubt exposed, pop the headliner out slightly and it's all tucked neatly away!
  4. You can pop the car into reverse without the engine on and use a multimeter to validate the cable
  5. I have an xtrons unit, .(TD618AS) Whatever I do I can't get torque to connect to the OBDII reader. The adapter works fine as I can connect my phone to it but not the unit. It says its connected but it never prompted me for a pin unlike when my phone connects, also if I try to disconnect it via the Bluetooth pa el it resolutely stays connected. Anyone else had any experience? Is it possible to update the firmware on the unit maybe? A factory reset failed to fix it
  6. the lights are unaffected it's just a new housing for the bulb on one side
  7. Mine was similar was very easy you do need to take out a fair bit of trim to get it tucked away nicely but not a big deal
  8. I just have this visual of the car being all sticky whenever I go to do maintenance on it!
  9. So this is all wax? how long does it last? I've seen some people use more of a paint?
  10. To be honest they're old cars now, I'd buy purely on condition if you get a well looked after car you'll enjoy it much more. There are difference between DE and HR but unless your planning specific mods I wouldn't worry too much. I was always told the main thing is to go for GT vs the base model.
  11. It's black, there were some that came in "ice" (This isn't one of those!) which was a mid grey but I believe they're stupid rare and mainly US models. Odd that it has no steering controls I thought the base model still had audio controls.
  12. if you pop it up on a ramp or some planks and just let the engine idle you can feet the leaks blowing I hadn't noticed the sound change on mine until I'd fitted the new gaskets and it was a fair step down in noise.
  13. Had mine about 6 years now, I had them fitted professionally so no idea on the gasket quality but at the same time I had a gemini exhaust fitted and last year I had to swap out the rear most gaskets as they were blowing. All fine now tho
  14. Awesome I heard "Torqen" is also a pretty awesome I need to underseal mine when I get it split up a bit later in the year, keep putting it off what did you do for the job?
  15. Definitely the bottom one's, I heard the pure 06 ones still come in two flavours? I guess it doesn't matter so much as long as I can use any pre 06 aftermarket lights
  16. I've a 54 plate gt, what headlights am I likely to have? I've read it can be 1 of 2 options and it's key to understand which if I want after market lights.
  17. Sorry you've had such a bad year so far good to see you back, hope being back helps you a bit! Your works always much appreciated both the window and velocity mods are top notch stuff!
  18. Assuming the bonnet struts are in working order I'll take those
  19. Already had 3 in each one which makes it stronger than a new spring so it's not that, maybe my hinges just need some oil
  20. ugh really? Mines always on and whenever I've asked before Everyone just says up rev it which I didn't want to do just because I've got HFC's. I guess I'll try replacing the sensor or building the dummy circuit.
  21. Makes a nice noise as you drive along whooshing away! I did it as well all bends back fine so don't worry. I also swore my original brackets were this way round too!
  22. I hate having the light on all the time it makes me think there's a constant issue when there clearly isn't!
  23. Hello! Wasn't aware of this. What resistance is usually needed? I'm sick of staring at my CEL with my Berk HFC's!
  24. It's both and I've replaced both components
  25. I swapped both springs and struts it's better but not great and no doubt once the boot weight and a spoiler goes on it'll need to be uprated even more.
