Only as effective as the person applying it. It can make the chips look a lot worse if done poorly but similarly it can make them completely unnoticeable if done well.

I've given this some thought and I've come to a conclusion; if we all have a whip round, I'm willing to get myself blacklisted from Ferrari's list of stuff I can't afford.
-
Must... resist...
-
I know, but there's a certain irony in your non-specific first reply implying a non-specific OP.
-
I'll bet my left ******* that it'll happen one day. Might have to wait another 20/30 years (or more) for it though.
-
Ferrari have never liked competition though... F1 is proof of that.
-
All you need is some duct tape and bubble wrap...

True. And I'd just accept it if any/all of them said "we're not giving you one of ours to play with", but to go as far as to ban customers from doing what they want with their property is what rubs me up the wrong way (oo-er). That and I really want to see them go head to head.

Dan, I get what you're saying and I don't disagree as such, I can't see Porsche turning down a fair fight either, I just don't think they'd be quite as nonchalant as they are being here if the track significantly favoured one of the other two - by which I mean they might be the ones asking to be able to set up the car but I doubt a "no" to that request would result in the toys being thrown as per Ferrari. Obviously this is all conjecture on my part though. I have no doubt the marketing departments of any of the three could fairly easily brush off a third place lap time anyway. So to me it seems like McLaren are being a bit childish by refusing unless it's on their terms but Ferrari are being the pussies by, apparently, having no confidence in the cars they've handed the keys over for. You're right though, the McLaren boffins could just as easily (he says, because it's that simple ) match the Ferrari's set up and go like-for-like, albeit in a pointless "you'll never be able to replicate this" way... that all press road tests are conducted in anyway.

I'm going to hazard a guess that he would like some prices for servicing. I have come to this conclusion by extrapolating from data obtained by tea leaf readings, use of my crystal ball, a bit of maths, astronomy a touch of plain old assumption. Or I read the thread title.

You assume correctly, Dan. And you're right, Porsche are up for it because they know the track favours them. McLaren were dubious at first because the P1 was designed (in part) on that track so they know the track favours the 4WD of the 918. Ferrari are only up for it if they can "adjust" the car to suit the track as much as possible and McLaren are only up for it if Ferrari can't "adjust" the car. McLaren and Ferrari know it's going be a shoot-out between those two on that track and they both want to sway things in their favour as much as possible whilst Porsche are sitting on the sidelines looking smug. As Dan says though, a different track would be a different story - I even suspect that Porsche wouldn't be as accommodating if they didn't have that advantage. Personally, I agree with McLaren that they should be production cars... unless Ferrari are going to set their cars up for each and every single one of it's customers and the roads they'll be driving on individually of course. As for Ferrari issuing a that threat of blacklisting anyone who lends their LaF, if I were in a position to I'd actually take that as a challenge rather than a warning. If I've spent a million pounds on a car, I'll do what I damn well please with it! If they then don't want to large sums of my money in exchange for their cars in future then... meh, I wouldn't want to give them any more of my money anyway. Either that or I'd offer Ferrari the chance to pay me to let them decide what I do with my property. They take liberties with the FXX arrangement (IMO), but at least that's made clear before purchase. Although that could all be posturing seeing as I'll never be in that position.

But due to their accountants, they won't find that out until July.
-
Oh I don't actually use them. They're useless, they take forever to actually heat up at all and by time they do you've already arrived at your destination and been sat in the warm for 3 days. You couldn't be more wrong... it was Wolf's Chemicals Silk Milk, actually.

Or? What's this "or" talk?!
-
Because Nissan put it in the wrong place. My ejector seat button is going there just as soon as I can get some NOS rigged up to the seat.
-
Yeah, alright, it's not that great but the orientation implemented by Nissan was driving me nuts, so I switched them switches around today. Seeing as I have a number of pictures I thought I'd stick up a thread - I did a quick search but couldn't see an existing one, so apologies if this is a repost of sorts. As you'll know, the switches leave the factory in the wrong place. Like this; That's always bugged me. To change this, you'll need to remove the lower centre console - I followed this guide, although I didn't remove the gear knob but rather removed the 8 screws holding the silver trim to the rest of it. Also, in part 3 where he mentions "There will be a wiring harness attached to the console, unconnect and the console is out" it was actually attached to the console itself (more details below) which restricted access to "unconnect" (sic) it. I say was, because it's not any more... Once the console is out the first thing to do is take it inside where it's warm. Underneath it will look like this; That white harness was connected to that grey clip-type-thing-I-have-no-idea-what-the-actual-name-for-is here; It does actually slide off that clip, but before I broke mine it may have only come off in one direction... I have no idea what direction that would be when in the car though. This is the view of it from the gear stick, just for reference of the location - it's easy enough to reach whilst in the once the gear stick trim is out of the way, but the release is on the underside which made it a bit awkward to reach from above. Anyway, once the console is out, you'll need to disconnect the wiring harnesses - the release is on the handbrake side, so grey one first even though it's the brown one and the blank you'll want to move - and then undo these four highlighted screws - only two hold the metal plate in place but they all have to come out. That'll leave you with this; You might notice the switches and harnesses are colour coded. Which is handy when putting it all back together again. The switches & blank then need to come out of the housing. On the below picture it's the lower-most release that holds them in place, so with a flat-bladed screwdriver I just (gently!) lifted the tab on one side and pushed the switch out from the top; Leaving me with this; Me being me, I took the opportunity to clean (and dress) everything... even the underside of... well, everything (switches, trim, console, false floor in the cubby, carpet under the console, everything!). From this; To this; Then putting it all back together is the reverse of the above. Start by putting the switches back in the places you want them in, replace the housing in the console, realise that both of the switches are upside down now, take them back out, turn them around, put them back in the console, realise you got distracted mid-turn and turned the same one round twice rather than each one round once, take them out, mumble swear words to yourself, finally do it properly and put it all back together one last time; The last step it to curse Nissan for doing it wrong in the first place. Then you're done.

To answer your question, OP; any DA pad that's larger than the backing pad with a Velcro (sorry, hook & loop) fixture on the back will "fit" the machine - just remember that the backing plate needs to be smaller than the pad, so smaller pads will require smaller backing plates. You'll want to avoid pads designed for rotary polishers though, they won't last too long on DA. However, what Ekona did gone done say. You really don't want to be buffing wax with a machine.

Am I Asking To Much For My 2006 Z
ilogikal1 replied to keithvmx1200's topic in Spotted on Ebay or Other
I don't understand this. Why would you not just knock £240 off the asking price? -
Wait, LIES!!!
-
Won't the one wing in MP2 look a bit odd though? Glad it's not too expensive for you, still sucks that you're having to fork out at all though.
-
Couldn't? No. Shouldn't? Well that's a different question entirely.
