  1. I think so Mark, like I said its either that or P1146, P1147, P1166 and P1167? I just couldnt find any of those codes with a Google search so assumed it must of been the others. I get one long flash, then one short and then 4 then 6 or whatever the last two numbers are. I'm running Berk HFCs. Is it not a problem to disable all the rear lambda readings then? Would you suggest replacing the rear lambdas for new ones or just disabling the codes?? We are in Devon so not really that close to any UpRev supplier What would the charge be? Thanks
  2. Yeah those are the ones! Actually ended up with some more yesterday haha! Just read the codes and I've got P0146, P0147, P0166 and P0167. Or at least I think.... I get one long flash, then one quick one, then four, then six. Then one long flash, then one quick one, then four, then seven etc. Is that P0146 or P1146? I assumed it was P0146 as I couldn't find a P1146 anywhere online lol! Looks like I may need to get some secondary lambdas then Out of interest, do you think if the secondary ones were failing that it would cause the P1283 code to flag up occasionally? Wondering if its all connected.
  3. Found a very interesting video for the Nexus 7! Shows full teardown, how to root it and install a custom recovery, and also something I found extremely interesting - it has a magnetic sensor which turns the device on! http://www.xda-developers.com/xda-tv-2/ ... eloper-tv/ For the magnetic sensor seek to 5:44 on the video
  4. Thanks for the info Mark, that is very helpful! Nice to see an insight into what happens with UpRev and what is possible etc. As I said I've only had the P1273 code myself a few times over the past 8000 miles, usually when pottering around or in traffic. Should i be worried? EDIT: Just checked through some of my old posts. It wasnt P1273 i was getting but P1283, so the other bank! Not that this makes any difference. Also over the winter I was getting a lot of P0139 and P0159 codes. Not the same as the P0420/430 ones you mentioned!
  5. I have UpRev on my car along with Plenum Spacer, Popcharger, Berk HFCs and Nismo Cat Back. Had this code a few times now, not overly often and usually when pottering around. I get the other codes (P04** something cant remember what now) a lot when its colder weather. Car runs absolutely fine though, even with the lights on. Been told its just due to the cats and spoke to a few other Zed owners who also say the same. Not bothered with the O2 spacers as heard they dont work most of the time and a waste of money. Someone has told me though that the UpRev map is supposed to stop the check light for HFC? :/
  6. Not too far from me Mark Im in Plymouth. We are thinking of organising a little photoshoot/meet soon, I'll keep you updated when we know more
  7. Hi and welcome I live in Plymouth, so quite close to you! We will have to meet up sometime Seems to be a fair few new members in Devon now! We will have to try and organise a photoshoot soon (maybe when the weather clears up lol)
  8. Welcome Mark What part of Devonshire are you from? Be good to meet up some time
  9. Yeah thats been my problem too! The only downsides to the Nexus 7 seem to be its construction (fused glass etc), and the lack of SD card slot! Everything else about it is amazing, and would be able to do anything you'd want it to do as a Car PC I've looked at a few teardowns of the Nexus 7, the Power & Volume buttons are on a ribbon cable that leads down the side of the device. The lead is very small though so I think re-locating the buttons would be hard to do. Because they are connected via a ribbon its going to make soldering in a different button almost impossible. I was planning to have a small cutout in the lid so that if needed I could stick my finger in to press the power button/reset it. I have CoPilot Live Premium on my work iPhone and it is a great SatNav app. They do it for Android too so that would be my option for SatNav in the car! Its cheap too, only £25 I think. The bonus of this over the built in Google Navigation is it doesnt require data access at all. It does however need space for the maps which will take up valuable internal storage on the Nexus 7.
  10. I don't see why you need to separate the screen from the glass anyway? Did nobody see the Nook Color install? It looked fairly straight-forward (albeit with the Sat Nav Cubby) and the Nook is slightly bigger than the Nexus 7. I was also looking at an Arnova 7 G3 as a cheap alternative at around £100. But compared to the Nexus its got no Bluetooth, no GPS, it had a single core CPU and a rubbish display. On its plus side is it does have MicroSD for 32GB of storage, and it comes apart extremely easy and has no glass screen. I just personally think the Nexus 7 is the perfect tablet for an install, its cheap and has incredible specs!
  11. I was more meaning standby mode when the screen isnt on. Dont want the screen being on constantly even when not it use. 16GB one is £199 The 8GB is £159, and only available through Google Play store. As for the mountable thing, I assume you mean could you use the USB as Host mode to attach a USB storage device too it for extra storage?! I believe this will work using a USB OTG cable, but as you say it might require rooting and some mods. Only problem with this is you cant charge when the USB OTG cable is attached - power can only flow one way! Hmmm I may have forgotten about that bit lol! Well I think I need to get my Cubby out and have a good look over it. See if anything can be done. I need to keep the lid! How much are the Sat Nav cubbys does anyone know?!
  12. Yes Dave Easily fixable! http://www.xda-developers.com/android/f ... e-nexus-7/ I will be rooting it & installing a custom recovery & kernel anyway. Hoping that someone will do a touch-wake kernel by the time I get around to doing this. Would be perfect to keep the device in low power mode while not being used, and can be woken up by simply touching the screen No buttons required
  13. Yup it can be done! I wont be taking the tablet apart at all (well, possibly to get to the power button but I think I have a work-around for that too!) Check this thread out; http://www.mp3car.com/show-off-your-pro ... build.html That user has installed a Nook Color tablet, which is slightly bigger outside dimensions than the Nexus 7, and it fits fine! I have measured it too and the tablet itself is no bigger than the entire cubby hole. I plan to mount mine almost identical to how its done in that post, with a metal bracket holding the back of the unit from both sides. If you want to discuss ideas feel free to PM
  14. Im planning to do the same in the next few months (funds permitting lol) After having a look around recently, im pretty confident that by cutting off the rear section of the standard cubby (with a dremel or the like), that a 7" tablet would fit behind perfectly. I found a thread on my350z.com of someone who had done exactly that with a Nook Color tablet! I am planning to use the upcoming Google Nexus 7 tablet in my 2004 UK GT Zed I'll post full pics and details when I start
  15. Hahahaha great pics! Sorry we didnt get any, I was looking for a decent size & vacant enough car park on the way back but couldnt see any Next time eh? The ponies were well funny, loved the black one sticking its head in your car Pimm, didnt realise you got a mug shot with it haha
  16. Sounds like you have an intermittent drop out of connection for some reason. Especially when you say "During the waiting period, if I try to view a page in another browser it is also delay and then they both load the page at the same time." sounds to me like your internet connection on the laptop (wireless/wired not sure) has dropped periodically and then all starts to work again?! I would try the laptop connected via ethernet cable, and if it is already then try a different cable. Also try using Google's DNS servers in your connection properties - 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
  17. Im looking at doing this with my standard cubby. I think if I can get enough room it will work well as the lid of the cubby will shield the screen from sun glare. We'll see lol. Anyway, are you using any software for a CarPC-like Front End on the Android device? I've been searching but cant seem to find anything decent. I know Centrafuse is the king, but thats only for Windows it seems (even though their site states it can be developed for ARM & Linux, so no reason there couldnt be an Android version )
  18. I have been dont worry Its perfectly fine and hasnt even popped the stock 15A fuse under the bonnet. The Genesis only draws a MAX of 23A if all 4 channels are run at 2ohm or Bridged. Currently only using 3 channels as all Bose speakers are 2ohm and the Genesis isnt 2ohm stable in Bridged mode. Things have changed a bit install wise now though as we are heading up to Modified Nationals this weekend to compete in dBDrag & Propper Droppers. Thrown one of my old RE Audio XXX15s in the back temporarily
  19. Just as an update to this, after some tweaking time with the amp the system sounds amazing! Much louder, cleaner & clearer than the stock Bose amp/HU combo. Plus I have the ability to change the sub woofer volume independently which is nice. Best thing though is that the small Genesis P4 amp runs without a hitch off the stock Bose power cabling I have to say that despite most people slating the stock Bose system, I was really really impressed by it! Especially after adding a decent amp to the system, but even completely stock it is a good sounding system IMO! The sub hits hard and sounds nice for most normal music. When you consider how small it is and how it doesn't actually have an enclosure as such it works well! There are a few rattles but that's just Japanese cars in my experience lol, and can't be blamed on the audio!
  20. Is that Pioneer unit running Windows CE?!
  21. Interesting read I had the same problems after fitting my Alpine Headunit into the Zed. I've overcome it a different way though - fitted a spare Genesis Profile Four amp I had lying around, its now very loud, better SQ and I have complete control This does make sense though, as when I was looking into all the wiring of the stock Bose amp, Headunit etc. I found that it uses high level outputs from the Headunit to the Amp as standard anyway. So converting it to RCA/Phono is bound to lower the output. I expect the reason the kits are made like this is that its a simple plug & play installation.
