  1. Where is the proposed meet going to be? I'm working but I'll try and pop down. Won't be with the z though.
  2. Do you guys carry microfibres and bits around with you. I just wanted these for times when i have no clothes or liquids with me. Just to leave them in the car.
  3. Been thinking about this problem for a while and stumbled across these in so I bought some.
  4. What edit? Buying one and seeing is an option but thought id ask here first. Maybe we will just have to swap the bulbs for 10w ones
  5. My girlfriend has just bought this light, she's a chav lol. http://www.homebase.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=110&storeId=10151&partNumber=200762 It's very bright, anyone know if it can be fitted with a dimmer switch? I think the bulbs can be swapped for 10w bulbs to make it dimmer but she would rather have the option of dimming it if possible. I've read about buzzing dimmer switches, what causes that?
  6. Small update, Had a set of Michelin pilot super sport fitted in place of the falken 452s that were on before. 225/45/18 front, 245/45/18 rear. Only driven about 50 miles so far so not yet bedded in but they are a step above the falkens already. Also ordered and awaiting HEL braided brake lines Yellow stuff pads Rear arb uprated links and super pro bushes Horsham grounding kit To be fitted over the next week or so.
  7. It utilizes the old maf sensor and housing. Ill drop you a pm when im due down there.
  8. It frlt a little more responsive but that was more than likely my butt dyno than any real difference. Sound is nice. I dont think there is too much issue with heat soak, if you run the car and at the end of the journey put your hand down the hole where the bonnet catch is the air there is a lot cooler than in the engine bay. Noise is a normal induction noise that you get from most exposed filter kits, its nice but not over bearing. I had the felocity stack mod and a do luck panel filter before. I much prefer the cai kit. Where abouts in surrey are you. Ill be heading down to oxted in the next couple of weeks if you want to have a listen.
  9. Ive had one for about 6 months. See my sig for videos and pictures. I really like it. Never needed a hydro jacket and ice been out in some shite weather. Came in at about £200 all in including postage from states. Good company to deal with. Think mine is the only one in the uk at the moment. Any questions feel free to ask.

    BLEEDING BRAKES

All need doing. Brake fluid wasnt done at the service cause i didnt want them messing about with it due to the bloke saying the pads and discs needed doing.
  12. Update on this. I ordered a set of Michelin super sports this morning and will have them fitted over the next week or so. Was tempted by the yokos but the michelins seem to get rave reviews everywhere. Thanks for all your help though guys.

    BLEEDING BRAKES

If I need to change discs and pads at the same time should I bleed the brakes before or after installing?
  14. Won't the second nozzle on the catch can connect to that part by another tube, isn't it a vacum tube, not sure how it works or why it's there but thought the air passing through the intake tube created a vacum effect?
  15. What a beautiful looking car. What took 10 weeks if you don't mind me asking?
  16. There's a vacum hose under Neath on the original pipe, when you disconect the pipe at the throttle body and maf sensor you can get to it. you need a pair of pliers to open the clamp. Then slide the clamp down the tube, push the pipe onto the new intake tubes spout and use the pliers to open the clamp and slide it onto the spout to clamp the vacum pipe in place.
  17. Havent tried kinking it. I held it between my fingers and it's hard to tell wether it's pulsing or just the vibrations from the engine. Engine idles fine and has no issues when being driven. The revs drop ever so slightly if i open the windows but thats happened on most cars ive owned. One thing I've found that I'm not sure is an issue is the oil is slightly above the H on the dip stick. The oil has only recently been changed during the p3 service and it was a 5 litre bottle. From zmanalex so I imagine that's more to do with the bad design of the dip stick as opposed to being overfilled. Sometimes get a burning smell if I boot it. Not sure what it is. It isn't clutch, I know that much. Oil pressure isn't high according to the guage. The smell only comes on hard acceleration, I don't get it at normal driving speeds.
  18. Doesn't look to bad on the car at all. Why do they not weld it all though and have as a solid unit?
  19. Why are there so many clamps on it, surely it could have been welded and looked a lot better quality? Cobra was an option for me but I really don't like the look of those clamps. Can they be seen when on the car?
  20. Brilliant. I think the noise might be from the fuel damper, would that show up on the codes? It seems to be coming from the back one with the metal piping. It's a constant ticking noise that increases with the revs. I have a video which I'll load on here in a minute
  21. Nope not showing whilst driving
  22. I have been getting a few strange noises recently. I dont think theyre anything to worry about but thought I'd try the pedal dance and see if that came up with anything. I got the first 10 slow flashes, then I got three lots of 10 fast flashes then the slow 10. Anyone know what this means. I can only assume that it means there are no error codes This is the video. It starts at Just after 19 seconds. http://i802.photobucket.com/albums/yy307/The-heff/65461E18-83D0-4C1F-AE75-18D5F0F14365-6684-000009916424CF34.mp4
  23. Cheers for replays so far She's looking to change from the mondeo to be honest. Unless its one of the st diesels of that model but that's not going to help on costs! But might balance out cost depending on the price of the car. Passat we hadn't thought of Subaru is one of those cars isn't it, if your into cars and you buy one and it's not an impreza sti i think you would feel cheated. Mazda 6 is an option?
  24. My girlfriend is looking to get a new car. It's 99% of the time used for commuting. She lives in clacton due to her parents but works in London and is a lazy hit so always drives to work. It's an 80 mile journey each way. She currently has a 1.8 petrol modeo estate which I think is doing no more than 35mpg. Which is costing a fair bit to run and is getting to a stage where it's going to start costing money. We've worked out that we have a budget to get a loan up to £12k if the car does 60mpg plus. Based on that we will break even each month. Obviously the smaller the loan the better but mileage of the car etc comes into it. Preferably it will be an estate and comfortable and a nice place to be in for motorway driving. Other than that We've tested a Volvo v50 redesign 2.0 diesel with 32k on it. That was top end of the budget. But that was a nice comfortable drive. Any suggestions, and opinions please guys Paul
