Random bit of fun, what 350Z (or 370Z) toys and trinkets are there out there? Post pics of what you've got lying around, can be anything as long as its zed shaped I'll start... GF got me a lovely Ultra Yellow Zed remote control car... clearly a Nismo edition, its got the bumper, skirts, spats and spoiler, and lovely Nismo rims
-
I think its cat F for 'flaky'
-
had a zed 8 months now and havent posted in here! Must rectify... totally standard at the mo, bar a stubby aerial
-
Zedley has made it here safely, thanks Vik! over to the man himself... Well i arrived here safely yesterday morning, and fair play Brillo immediately got me set up with a sweet set of wheels to get around on - gotta love the ultra yellow! Although i think the throttle has been mapped a bit aggressively... seems to be very on/off, makes the ride a bit jerky! First weekend here and its just been a chilled out affair - just been watching the Grand Prix at my favourite track - makes me feel at home with the racing through the forests! I wont spoil it if you havent seen it yet, but a very good race, a lot of action right from the off. Brillo has a few things planned with my time here - but generally going to be having a chilled out time and getting some rest and relaxation in! All the best for now
-
blimey thats cheap! almost makes me tempted to get a 306 GTI6 for the track when you can get tires that cheap!
-
hahahaha i like at the end one of them gets out, clearly hes thinking 'Christ that was mental, but i think im gonna go have a lie down now before i chunder everywhere...'

Looking good, looks like you had a good day for it and were having a blast before your belts let go. Very much looking forward to being down there in three weeks time Looks to be a nice mix of machinery down there as well, im a real fan of the OPL format at these days, the variety of cars you get is astonishing, although the caterhams and elises are favourites! Did the R8 and GTR i see do any hot laps? Also the cameraderie is great at airfield days, when i was going on airfield days everyone was more than happy to have a chat and offer a ride - good to get a group of like minded enthusiasts together who are often ken to show off their rides, and it means you can ride in some cars you would never otherwise get a go in - if you've never been in a caterham at full chat, its an experience not to be forgotten!

Looks like you guys were having a blast! Once you get out on track you seriously get the bug... although my advice to you is not to take out your pride and joy, get yourself a nice cheap ebay special and razz that around - also saves you on insurance as if you break it, just buy another. All being well and good i'll be able to save up a grand or two by spring next year and then can splash out a dedicated track car

225s on a 10" Rim!?! someone alert the stretch police!
-
Haha love it! glad he didnt fall in whilst ice fishing, he'd have no doubt been eaten! Always surprises me when i see how small he is... almost didnt notice him in the R35s lights!
-
hmm have to see how funds are.... alternatively, if you're heading down there and fancy a bit of success ballast id be happy to meet you in bham and ride shotgun... obviously i'd put muchos beer tokens towards a lift down there... and then i could act as club photographer while im down there?
-
sounds mighty tempting, have been considering doing an airfield day that way for a while now. However, moneys a bit tight as insurance is due this month - might pop down tho for a few passenger laps with someone
-
hmm, after seeing them side by side, if they lowered it and put matching wheels on, it would actually look pretty good. However, the California isn't a looker anyways, so they've done the best they can with what they've got!

High flow cats are a must, more important than the swapping the exhaust for power gains as thats where the biggest restriction in airflow comes from. What wheels have you got on? if you havent got some rays, get some of them on - reduces unsprung mass and the weight of the wheels, which gives better acceleration, braking, cornering agility and suppleness over bumps

I give you the TVR Cerbera. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/4151914.htm 30k on the clocks, taxed and tested till spring next year, under £10k 1. Driving dynamics / enjoyment when driving at 10/10ths - 10/10. rwd, no traction control, silly power, silly lightweight. 2. running costs (not including fuel) - 7/10 3. Engine performance - 11-12 out of 10, easy. its a TVR V8 for peats sake! 5. looks - maybe a conservative 15/10? again, its a TVR 4. Practicality - 10/10... 4 seats, boot, many cows gave their hides to furnish it, and it'll annihilate anything in a this side of a supercar in a straight line

is it wrong that (bar the stupid rear light clusters) i actually kinda like it? looks like a concept sketch that has actually made it to reality for a change!
-
indeed a lot of those cars arent in the same league, but i can think of one glaring omission from the lineup - a BMW Z4. can quite easily get a fully specced Z4 with a 3 litre engine for £28k, probably one thats really only just rolled off the showroom. Admittedly its still going to be expensive to service, but given the choice between a GT86 and a Z4 with a lovely folding hardtop, you'd have to be a lunatic to pick the toyota, surely? With engine and that spec, it should be £22k basic rising to £24k for top spec. After all, its pretty much no frills motoring and has a measly 2litre NA engine.... should have been priced to compete with an MX5, which is £23k with the same 2litre engine driving the rear wheels through a 6 speed manual box. I like the idea, but at that price i dont think (and secretly hope) they wont sell many

im sure you'll get used to it... just takes a bit of time. when i first had the car i was overrevving it to pull away and riding the clutch when changing gears, just not used to the high bite (and it seemed quite a quick bite as well) but now i can quite happily go from standstill to moving without the revs rising about 1k and no lurching... just takes time!
-
seems alright to me? 1st to 2nd is always an awkward gear change, can't say its any harder than in any other car
-
mmmm hello shes lovely! better than a lot of the girls with two legs!
-
well he does make an excellent point about the zed being an 8 tenths car... but the difference is a GT86 is a lightweight, high revving sports car, whereas the 370z is a lazy, torquey GT car - its not a car for driving the socks off, its about effortless cruising and the ability to overtake without changing down two gears like you'd have to in the GT86. And im sorry, but the GT86 he tested is not worth £28k - that interior just looks too cheap and nasty, and as he says its short two cylinders... that cayman looks like a great buy though... if i was choosing a sports car for £28k, it would be 3 year old cayman with 30k on the clocks, easy.
-
yeah this does rely on the mpg reading being right! im going to assume that is working ok at least! would hate it to say im getting 25 when actually im only getting 19 or something, which would put my calculations out!
-
Should do what i do, and read a few issues behind... or, go on ebay and pick up 139 back issues (up to and including this current months) for the low low price of just 99p. after all, a month or two (or a year) makes little difference to me, i'll still never be able to afford anything in EVO!

Finished My Electric Volume Adjustable Exhaust
brillomaster replied to Christian350z's topic in Performance
Looks and sounds pretty darn good! Need some more vids please, and if possible a dB rating with the valve closed and then open. I do like the idea of that, im sure i can commission an exhaust welder to put something in for me!
