  1. Ah bugger really? I just mirrored how my others were fitted (I think)!
  2. Fitted a set of SGS engineering boot struts last weekend and just noticed today that the boot lid, at the hinged end, is now sitting proud. I've also spotted that the struts themselves have come into contact with the underside of the boot lid... Anyone else had this problem or have I just got unlucky...
  3. Always found conflicting info on this with some saying that buttoning it off its totally disabled, I've never pushed mine hard enough yet to find out as its not seen a track. In theory then, could you wire the switch to switch just the yaw / G sensor off? (I think this is what @GodISmE is suggesting?) @davey_83 if that's your thing, check these I saw on Instagram
  4. 400BHP is more than enough for a road car imho. Nice to have more than that yeah, but really, when are you going to use it unless your on track?
  5. I ran 255/35/19 and 275/35/19 on my LMGT4s. Noticeable difference (imho) from stock 225/45/18 and 245/45/18 on stock GT4 alloys. As above, I'm on 245/40/18 and 265/40/18 now which is a decent compromise.
  6. Is it just the speedo(s) or the whole cluster? I'd start with fuses personally but I believe the fuse that does those also does the whole dash so you'd know if that was broken!
  7. While I don't suffer with a bad back (though I cant be the only one whose 350Z seats give them back ache!), I made the swap from 45 profile on 18's (GT4 alloys) to 35 profiles on 19's (LMGT4s), then back again, then to a 40 profile on 18's (Work T7R's). The 35 on 19" was a bit too jarring and uncomfortable for me. It made the steering feel heavy and the car generally felt like it was more effort to drive. Switching back to the 45 on 18 (stock GT4 wheels), car felt more nimble and much smoother however the change in width from my 8.5 front and 9.5 rear LMGT4's was noticeable and the car felt less planted. Ended up settling on a set of Work T7R's with a 40 profile but 8.5 front and 9.5 rear widths. Really happy with this, Feels more nimble than 19" alloys while still feeling planted and not as crashy. Also to note is that some tyres have stiffer sidewalls than others which will make the ride firmer, even between two tyres with the same profile. Normal summer tyres will be softer than 'performance' type tyres, and trackday like / full trackday tyres being stiffer still.
  8. There is a cover on the diff but as Keyser said there is a nub that sticks through. Jack it up on the nub. No need to remove any covers to jack front and rear.
  9. Ah crap, was my 1000th post literally a picture of an Astra?! How embarrassing...
  10. Bingo! Behold the mighty beige beast in all its bland "glory".
  11. Is that Turbo or Turbo S? The Porsche range is baffling to me Edit: Ta for the extra photo
  12. By the way, got any recommendations for decent polishes and waxes? Been using the Meguiar's polish and Carnauba wax for a while which has given me decent results. I also have some Dodo Juice Banana Armour which I tried out last wash but really not a fan. I think it gave worse results than the Meg's stuff and was a pain in the arse to use.
  13. @MITZ@CougarStore Over to you I think
  14. Welcome both! You two need to post some photos of your new motors
  15. Love it! Can't wait to see the numbers
  16. Sorry to jump back to the VSV/TC/ABS business but you guys got me curious! So, are we saying that the cars basically have three levels of stability control? Fully on - Cuts in the minute you so much as slip one wheel a fraction. Buttoned Off - Lets you slide about but only to a point. Will cut in if it deems you to be in an 'emergency' situation. Fully off (fuse removed) - No VSC/TC/ABS etc
  17. Car looks stunning! I notice you've got the Bi-Xenon headlights on an 04 too, very nice, something I want to try and get for mine at some point. Need to get those rears swapped out for the later model LED versions to match now
  18. Ah that makes sense @burntorange I guess the best thing you can do is take Alex's advice and get your car booked into somewhere that knows these cars inside out. Explain whats happening and ask them to check out all of the suspension components. If it turns out to be a leaky shock, we'll have come full circle back to what coilovers you should get
  19. @Keyser wouldnt that normally be spotted during a geo check? I say normally because I'm well aware of how some garages operate Edit: @burntorange did you get just the tracking done or a full alignment?
