Crickey - all kicking off in Chester, innit! I'll have to get my ass out for a session S.

If you had £35,000 to spend on a car, what would you choose?
Squee replied to a topic in Other Cars
A GT-R please. Hopefully the recent black editions will be in that price bracket soon. I am however determined to own a corvette at some point. I quite like the 80's Fezza's but wouldn't drop my knickers for one S. -
Hi, Asking on behalf of a ZX friend, is anyone selling a set of Rays with tyres anytime soon? Thanks S.
-
Oh no! how does Carla feel about another sunset on her territory?!? Ricey - I thought I saw you in the TT in Boughton the other day in that I saw a black '62 plate TT which had been exceptionally detailed being driven by a male. I don't think I've seen a male in a TT before hence I thought it might have been you. But then I realised you've probs got the personal plate on by now. And also I don't know what you look like (a squirrel according to the avatar) so I thought best not to wave....Nice car anyway! S.

Spotted a black(?) 370Z, reg plate T23 *** today on Sainsburys roundabout/junction thing About 5.15pm. 370 was going from Chester onto A55. Looked nice! I was in the (probably out of sight) black 300ZX (ie a proper Zed ) on the VX end of the junction S.

When do we get to the part where you threaten to put dog mess through their letterbox?
-
Happy birthday Vik - hope you're having a good one

Lol, to be fair it runs fine, mechanically all good just looks a bit rough. I had grand designs for it and thought I'd do a few Wheeler Dealer-esque tricks to spruce it up but it just aint happened yet (damn you Edd China for making it look so easy!). And the constant rain over the last six weeks hasn't helped....especially with a leaky targa top
-
Brewer and China have a lot to answer for - it's thanks to their show I've got a slowly rotting ZX sitting in my garden hahaha! S.

Looks good! I need to find me an avatar thing now - I could get away without one before! I was gonna be brave and investigate the 'chat' facility last night but thought it would be where all the site's perverts hang out so didn't bother! S.

+1 on this, I'm not a big believer in 'little, informal chats' with the police, a sure fire way for you to chat yourself into trouble. If it was my car and I was in that situ I probably couldn't remember who was driving 6 months ago, but that approach could mean dropping Mother se350z in it so maybe not an option. Best thing you could do is post up your predicament on the Pepipoo forum as that's a dedicated site for points/parking/police. Hope you get it sorted! S.

Sptd: Silver 'V8 ***', A41 Upton Chester, 20/09
Squee replied to Squee's topic in Spotted or Flyered
persistence pays off! I did have to give a few flashes and theatrical waves to get one back, but it was a good quality wave I was rewarded with Doh! Which part of Chester are you in now? I recall a post of yours from a few months back saying you were on the move I think? S. -
Got a good wave from a silver zed on Thursday - almost crashed in disbelief as we all know how miserable those primer coloured ones are V8 *** plate, on the A41 in Chester at about 5.00pm. S.

If anyone wants these wires then PM me. Free they are, free! Thanks, S.
-
women shouldn't be allowed behind the wheel of any car, let alone a Zed. S.
-
Have you priced up importing one in better condition? I've heard that Germany is a good place to buy imported US V8's (I'm assuming it's because of the US military bases out there) which of course means you don't have to pay the same import duties compared to bringing one over from the States yourself. S.

I like the little cloth hats for the jars - very pretty So are all your relatives getting jam for Christmas this year? S.

I agree that the staff at Chester DVLA are excellent, I couldn't believe how helpful they were when I had all my drama with the ZX a couple of months back. Shrewsbury are terrible though, don't bother with them! So is it definite that the Chester branch is going? I knew that a percentage of local DVLA offices were going to be closed, but I didn't know that Chester was a cert. S.

Sorry to hear that your career as a chauffeur never took off. I hope you have better luck with the salon. Seriously though, very nice! I shall be looking our for you when I'm next rolling through your hood (which is pretty often to be fair ). Have you made friends with that GT-R near you yet Ricey? S.

Has anyone done one of the 20 min taster sessions at Oulton Park? If so what are they like? I'm thinking it might be a good idea for me to do one of those in my ZX to help judge whether it could hack a whole trackday without wasting a couple of hundred £ on it... I'm wondering if they'd let you have two goes for £50 as 20 mins doesn't seem nearly enough... S.
-
Hey Chris That was my first track day since the one we were both on, I was hoping to do one sooner but a few things cropped up. I only booked the trackday on Monday, very much last minute. Would have been great if you were there too! Hope you have a good time in Florida. And make sure you take a big enough suitcase to bring back a pair of Berks the trader I bought mine from, who is on here, is based in Florida so you could call in and say 'Hi' lol. S.

I know that the Passat doesn't sound very thrilling but don't forget it's A4 underneath and with the twin turbo diesel its quite fun to drive S.

Well, just got back from Oulton and what an amazing day I had! There were only 24 cars that showed up for today so it ended up being open pit lane - it was meant to be sessioned with 5 sessions for the day but I managed to get out 5 times both in the morning and afternoon sesh. And we all got a garage for free too! One downside of the day being quiet was that there weren't too many overtaking opportunities Although it was advertised as a novice event the standard of other drivers was very good, in fact I was more aware of true 'novices' at the first trackday I did in May, and although on the ClubMSV website it says you can't book if you've had more than 3 trackdays it wasn't checked and most people there had a good few more than that under their belts. The main difference is that novice days are only for road cars. No other Zeds unfortunately but there was a rather tasty Skyline GTR, a few S2000's and MX-5's, usual Scoobys, a handful of things like Exiges, Caterhams and Marlins. Apparently ClubMSV always have trouble filling the spaces on these novice days...I can only assume a lot have people had read the anti-novice crap on the PistonHeads website which put them off. But most PistonHeads users tend to be the sort of people who would never admit to ever being a novice with anything car related. From reading some of the stuff on that forum you'd think that the novice days would be full of 17 year olds in Corsas but it certainly wasn't today at Oulton. If you're thinking about booking the ClubMSV novice day in October then go for it, I can't recommend it highly enough. I paid £200 in total - £150 for the day and 2 x £25 instruction sessions. As mentioned above they don't seem to mind if you have had stacks of trackdays and are a bit of a pro, as long as you are tolerant of beginners. S.

Your Zed sounds fab and I'm sure before long you'll be utterly besotted with it They're a very friendly bunch on here and it's well worth joining in with all of the fun Squee. (PS I answer to the name Sarah too! heehee)
