Ryanmi do insurance, they quoted me £200 for the weekend but i chose not to because its not like a trackday in the uk where you push it to the extreme levels. i look at it as a one way country road. i didnt time myself, but i think i done a mid 9minutes. so im not pushing it. i wasnt there to set lap times, i was there to enjoy the whole weekend with my mates and see the famous place.
I had brake fade when i came past the gantry and had to break at about 140ish.
on the first lap i was nervous so was breaking at every corner, but after i calmed down, i was just letting off then accelerating out the bends without breaking, thus not using breaks as much.
and like i said, i have standard JDM set up with only red stuff pads. car has done 101,000 miles. and it performed fine. I will however be upgrading to brembos, cause i plan on doing more trackdays this year which il be pushing the car harder and harder.
Even though your car is fast, you are not. you will be overtaken by a mk1 golf. and every car that you thought you could overtake, will be gone.
just be smooth is what i found. mirrors all the time, and indicate right and pull right over so they know that you've seen them behind you.
There is a real nice place to eat called pinnocihos. which i will highly reccomend.
Also, if you get a chance, go find adenu-forst and watch from there. great place to view.
