    Dynamat

Wouldn't bother with Dynamat, it's very overpriced. I think Dynamat is 1.6mm thick whereas Silent Coat is 1.7mm thick and cheaper. Then there's Skinz which is 2 or 3mm thick and cheaper again. They're all made of the same material, you're just paying for some branding
  2. My insurance is cheaper on the road than on the drive, which is again cheaper than in the garage. If I park it on the road, it takes up all of the pavement or means any vans/lorries/rubbish collectors can't get past the house as the end of the drive is on a bend. Ridiculous to think I'd be less likely (in their eyes) to claim if I parked on a bend taking up the pavement or stopping large vehicles being able to get past rather than on my drive 2 foot away.
  3. i'd imagine that's the biggest understatement of the year so far! haha, once you get used to it ~600hp doesn't seem enough! 700-750 would be perfect in a GTR; just to get a near flat torque curve of 620lbft.
  4. I'm going AP 380mm & DS2500 week after this from OEM discs and pads. The discs have lasted 27k with only small cracks but I fancy a change. Should only be doing 1 or 2 trackdays this year at the most so the Ferodo pads should hold up, I hope! Pads are £195 and AP discs are around £720. Alcon 380mm are about £240 more for pair of front discs.
  5. If you don't track the car, or very very rarely, go for AP discs and Ferodo DS2500 pads. Might as well get some braided lines on as well
  6. The entire network or SMS ability can die every now and then, like maybe once every 6 months for 4-12 hours. So if it's for personal use it's fine, for business use I wouldn't have one. For the price and lack of contract, can't really argue!
  7. Oh and they're both a lot cheaper than Dynamat too!
  8. Silent Coat is 2mm, I think Skinz is 3mm. Dynamat is only 1.7mm so both should be better than Dynamat I've just silent coat'd the rear and boot if my GTR and it's made a noticeable difference.
  9. Ah great, hopefully a discount for first few orders
  10. Great, will definitely be buying one soon! My water is only 75ppm to start with so hopefully a Daqua will last ages!
  11. In the boot with the top down?! You must have taken naff all. We couldn't even get 1 suitcase in due to the roof taking up all the height of the boot.
  12. The missus and I did 3 weeks in Florida last September. Think we drive around 1200 miles, was a great holiday! Should have a Google Map route somewhere. Best tip, get a phone that is unlocked and just grab a T-Mobile pay per day SIM. It's $2-3 per day with unlimited data, used it for google maps mainly but was handy to have Internet out and about! We had a convertible Camaro, ended up having the roof up 90% of the time as you can only get a nats testicle in the boot with it down.
  13. 28, R35 GTR. I wonder if theres anyone under 20 with a 350z, would love to see what insurance they pay
  14. Self-employed/my own company since 26 and I'm 28 now. Bloody love it and wouldn't change it for anything! Well except a winning lottery ticket
  15. How difficult is it to do? I was looking at picking up a few things to see what it was like. Wouldn't be anything textured, just onto brushed metal or flat plastic.
  16. Bought 4 MPSS a few weeks ago and they arrived from Germany within a couple of days. Will definitely be using them again if their prices stay that low for the sizes I need!
  17. Cheers, will try to find out if its functioning properly. I'm also going to buy a bit of de-ionised water for when I wash the car next to see if that does leave any water marks.
  18. Managed to get something to measure the water hardness, 30ppm which is very low as looking around on DW other people have 250-300ppm. Will have to see if there's any point getting a filter as it's already very low, or the tester is crap!
  19. Cheers Rich, will give it a read this afternoon! Car is filthy from a runout at the weekend and I fancy washing it his week so might get something ordered.
  20. Look in the first post DI Vessel Raceglaze Water Filter They're both vessels/tanks with resin in.
  21. Thanks, I thought the Aqua Gleam one might be out of the picture for lack of pressure anyway. If it doesn't last that long and isn't refillable then I'll probably go for a tank of some sort. The fact that you're looking for something else similar means that it does work well then?
  22. I think if you buy the correct ones you can use them with a pressure washer. TheRace Glaze one has a few reviews and they mention pressure washer, I think the tanks can go up to 10.5bar. THe Aqua Gleam one looks like a pressure washer can't be used so that one might be ruled out straight away as I don't fancy standing there with water dribbling out the end of the hose. Also found this one which couple of people have bought - http://www.vyair.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=362
  23. I was looking at these over Winter to save time when washing the car but thinking about it, it makes more sense over Summer! Does anyone use some sort of inline water de-ioniser when rinsing down their car? I've come across a couple on Detailing World and Google but the one that a few people mention I can't seem to find online. For anyone wondering, you stick a de-ioniser between tap and pressure washer, it filters the water removing which means you don't have to manually dry the car. It's the minerals and impurities in the water that cause dry stains on the car, so this way means you just wash, rinse then leave to dry in the sun and it should be mark free Ones I've come across and wondering if anyone has any experience with them are - Aqua Gleam - http://www.theultimatefinish.co.uk/aqua-gleam/0ppm-de-ionising-water-filter-30.aspx DI Vessel - http://www.daqua.co.uk/divessels.htm Raceglaze Water Filter - http://www.raceglaze.co.uk/race-glaze/400-litre-0ppm-car-washing-filter/ I'm assuming the Aqua Gleam is overpriced as it's marketed towards car enthusiasts and a tank with crystals/resin in will be cheaper and do the same job?
